  • I am "DREAMING ON"..........

  • most underated band ever

  • Essa música, se não me engano, é uma regravação em ritmo mais lento do original, meio bossa nova inglesa. Você sabe quem é o grupo que canta o orignal?

  • The Kid has some pretty funky dreads!

  • @FlappyMcNips to think this is over twenty yrs old, proves that quality will never die out ..

  • this song is everything

  • THIS IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CUTS! MS. DAVENPORT REMINDS ME OF ENVOGUE'S DAWN ROBINSON WHEN SHE WAS WITH LUCY PEARL,THEY BOTH GOT SIMILAR STYLES. DREAM ON DREAMER IS A VERY GOOD SONG WITH A NICE GROOVE AND QUALITY VOCALS

  • Wow I feel old!, I remember seeing them live at the Humming Bird (now O2 Academy) in Birmingham circa 1992/3. There was a whole lot of British bands (with US singers) back around this time - Heavies, Young Disciples, Incognito etc keeping real music alive.

  • Delícia!

  • If you like these sounds you tube soul network, the most classy events with all of these sounds they do soul sessions in all over england Portugal, Barbados,an amaazing experience....signing out Dancing Dazza................

  • The 1990's were filled with the last of many great bands that still made music for people who like music... Yes, there are many bands today but there is such a recipe that is fed to us and geez I'm full...

  • 1:34 You realize your'e so SPACED OUT > (O_o)

  • This one never fails to arouse emotion; I have to pause whatever I am doing when this song comes on.

  • She looks and sounds like fire!...

  • Ice Cube and YoYo you cant play with my YoYo sample!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jseward228 They sampled Earth,Wind,&,Fire - "Devotion" for Yo-Yo & Ice Cube's - You can't play with my yo-yo.

  • One of my favs!

  • Hadn't seen this video in a few years. Love the song but love the location even more. Filmed at the Blue Cave Castle in Negril, Jamaica. Our favorite hotel on the cliffs. We were married there in 2007.

  • @RasWalleye

Hey Ras!! i didn't realize this was at Blue Cave until you mentioned it! WOW! Thanks!

    your fellow JamaicaHolic...Mia

  • OMG.....A belly button without a hole!!!!! Midrifts where awesome back then!!!!!

  • I love 90s

  • I was borned in 1997, and I like this music because it make me relax and I feel happy when I listen it :) !!!

I listen it always when I am making homework.

My parents listened the brand new heavies, haha!

  • Noel Gallagher on guitar?

  • @yasser69 I thought exactly the same thing! Acid Jazz? He's mad for it.

  • This song reminds me of my grammar school days

  • ...oh yeah...I was in college when this song came out...I was working at a record store and it couldn't have been a better time to work at a place like that!

  • I miss the 90's...don't know what is up with the so-called "music" that is out nowadays, but everytime I listen to stuff like this from the 90's, it makes me weep for the current generation and the good music they are being deprived of...

  • i remember the girl in this tune mellow and sexy in black hmmm

  • classic!

  • hmmm... this is deliciously vinyl.

  • another British groups that rocked American soul/R & B/acid jazz

  • Was this song about drugs?

  • @InASenseGuilty All songs are about drugs.

  • @InASenseGuilty The song is about people with vivid imaginations. Not drugs. Dreamers tend to be people with ADHD.

  • @brothamandap This song sounds like me when I'm LIT

  • @brothamandap Like people as Don Quichote ;) or as me.

  • Too bad this didn't catch on here in black America. Now we're still stuck with rap. One day suckas! One day!

  • @TheFeralCelt Not all rap is bad bro. There is also soulful underground hiphop that doesnt get the airplay it deserves like the garbage you hear on the radio.

  • @TheFeralCelt Brand New Heavies didn't catch on in Black America? What are you, fifteen? LMAO!!! This song- as well as a lot of songs by the Brand New Heavies- were huge on urban radio!

As far as hip hop, I'll say this: First, they were signed to Delicious Vinyl Records- an underground hip hop label. Secondly, they worked with with well respected names in hip hop (See: "Heavy Rhyme Experience"), and they had a few songs remixed by J. Dilla. So you are way off base!!!

  • damn this sing brings back soo many memoriess

  • I will dream on when I listen to this track this right here is better then any drug I've tried.

  • Thanks, GhettoDonk, for the recommendation. -Rubix

  • i love love love this song! ohhh this is so classic.1994 when music was good.nowadays nothing compares to this!

  • que porkeria es esta!!?? corran!!!!!

  • @emeryos es obvio que no sabes nada de musica

  • クールで良いに、最高にカッコ良いに…

    It's cool !!!

  • Great tune!!!!

  • This is nothing compared to how much they funked on Heavy Rhyme Experience.Shit song in my book.

  • @backdoorcj something must be wrong with you for real. Even if that record is way better to you than this one, there is no reason why this must be a 'shit song' in your book

  • @backdoorcj Agreed. My first introduction to BNH was Heavy Rhyme Experience (cos I'm a hip hop head) and I thought that this had to be the deepest, heavy-funkiest band ever! I checked out their other releases and boy was I sorely disappointed. Lightweight and fluffy commercial funk-lite. Sigh. What could have been....

  • @vdeferens Yeah man,Heavy Rhyme Experience is certainly one of the best records i ever listened to.Unfortunately a lot of good modern funk bands have this habbit of turning into acid jazz.A very similiar band (although i warn you they have some heavy turkish music influences) are Brooklyn Funk Essentials with their album In the Buzz Bag.Take a look.

  • ATL + UK = BNH

  • Download the audio from this vid at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • A vast % of people are and have become dumbed down and have no clue as to how they got so dumb. When people are that dumb, they will listen and believe anything

    that is hyped up.

Things have been speeded up for the purpose of having people self destruct, with somebody else touching them. Check out Agenda 21

  • OMG This shit is of the shizzal

  • Early '90s = When Humanity was in balance. NOW = BULLSHIT in every aspect of it, from Global Diplomacy to Music Industry...

  • Man, what a shame they don't make nowadays music like this...

  • at a young age I started to love and appreciate good music like this I was 12 and I loved this!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE SOUND OF LONDON SOUND!!!! SO EPIC!!!

  • summer time 90s

  • Perfet for a lazy snowy afternoon...

Reminds me my youth, thanks dady ; )

  • N'dea Davenport. How she sounds, how she looks, why aint she more famous?

  • Right!

  • @nthnmonkey Because she keeps her clothes on!

  • @unclekipper I hear ya!

Sad but true mate, sad but true.

  • @OG41969 Same for me mate, that's a real musical education ; )

  • @ATLien4Ever No, it's always about money and sex. Always.

  • Oh yes, I remember this song on the radio...

  • so much luv 4 the heavies.

  • An incredible and utterly valuable contribution to music of the modern era.

    BRAND NEW HEAVIES forever!

And "yes" it does sound 1000x better on vinyl with a sounsystem supporting a heavy bass!

  • Classic!! cool tune........

  • Loved this back in college.

  • Exellent j'adore !

  • another time another era.. tempus fugit indeed..

  • This song is a classic but the chorus has a deeper meaning to it "Dream on Dreamer LIFE GETS in Your Way" BE CAREFUL what you listen to, the band are LEGEND but you must listen to the lyrics of the song!

  • This is one of them songs ( for me ) that I can not get tired of no matter how many times played. Thank you TBNH for this song!

  • relax and listen to the 90's people

  • the best band ever...again a brand new sound...YES!!!

  • A unique sound that today's bands can only dream about! And it brings with it good memories, a time when we were not afraid to live and take a risk!

  • The easiest way in DDRX2.

  • Easiet, but someimes, difficult.

  • This group confused the typical listener, in '94 (release of this) because:

This was not a Seattle grunge band, this wasn't gangsta rap, & it sounded 1000 times better on vinyl.

Yes, the 90s is a time I greatly miss.....

  • @knoxunflower1 ....yes, I have this 12" single... it DOES sound awesome on vinyl!

  • @knoxunflower1 AMEN ... GREAT COMMENT

  • @knoxunflower1 well said!

  • @knoxunflower1 Hey I feel you! I miss the 90's too! And girlfriend has a awesome voice! So dream on dreamers! I'm still dreaming & love it! Just don't let life get in the way!!

  • @knoxunflower1 It's like, this was the earliest in Neo Soul...

  • When soul music made sense!!

  • great sound

  • Still fresh sounding like it came out last week, and you only get that from a band that has served out its time playing live gigs. And with a rhythm section that grooves real strong,a great singer out front is the icing on that cake.

  • Music of today is dead, it died like for real! This music here has "LIFE",energy and all the other good stuff and this is coming for a dude who listen to "Gangster rap"!

    -Stoicone!

  • Real music, real vocalists, real musical composition and the music sounds the same whether it's live or recorded.....lord knows I miss this kind of thing

  • they couldent of made this song! did they?

  • masonic pentagram?

  • thank you for posting, i remember a happier time, less stress and full of anticipation, N'Dea's voice for me is definitive brand new heavies - they should have been even bigger than they were. thanks again x

  • This used to be my song back in the day:)

  • CLASS ACT!

  • I will never forget the late 80s and early 90s. What an amazing period! A period which will never come again! Thank you for the video, it sent me several years back, when Humanity was not dealing with global financial crisis/bullshit or War on Terror a.k.a. World War III.

  • hey thanks so much for uploading this. this brings back a lot of memories. The 90s were something special. You helped me relive a special moment with this song because my girlfriend used to listen to this all the time. Thanks :).

  • Funky and groovalicious!

  • bombas!

  • I loved this song when it came out in 1994.

  • It beautiful jazz! Have you ever heard of jazz house compositions Valerio Minicillo? The First, Crazy Funky, wow! There is a wonderful video, which is LA MAGIA DEL SAX !

  • wow i love this song as a little chil ,

    on the tv and radio

    kis monica

  • St. Louis, will never understand a group like this.

  • @abston60 Lmao, oh my gosh what an statement!

    -Stoicone!

  • ONE GREAT INNOVATIVE GROUP!!!!!

Although, I have been known to say that they were a 90's version of my all-time favorite group--RUFUS feat. CHAKA KHAN

  • It´s amaizing ..yeah

  • i liked n'dea's work on Guru's album, Jazzmatazz. Is there any track with her and JK doing a duet, that would be cool

  • I remember the summer of '94 you could see stuff like this and US3 on MTV!

    man...

  • Like virginia wade?

  • This song is on Brother Sister!

  • Jamiroquai lead singer tried out for this band and didn't make it. So he made is own band! I saw it on an interview. Never heard of the "Brand New Heavies". Now I'm a fan -Love their sound!

  • totally true! The Heavies' bass player also plays on the first Jamiroquai album.

  • Wow....I didn't know that Jay Kay tried out for Brand New Heavies!! Thanks for the trivia....Jamiroquai are great! Dream on Dreamer was a huge, massive hit in Japan when I was living there in the 90's.

  • I think Jamiroquai were real popular in Japan too. It's funny how some artists are popular worldwide, and not so much in U.S. Never heard of Tarkan til he made the news for drugs. He's sold 14 million records worldwide!

  • dream on. dreamer.

  • A rare gem from the 90's that I still jam to--and crushes anything playing today. Right up there with Groove Collective's "Lift Off".

  • so smooooooooth!!!!!

  • Man I used to love this song so much. I love their sound

  • yes!!! toujours aussi bon.

  • Amazing Davenport as always. Brings the summer to cold North Europe for couple of minutes.

  • emazing song

  • quite possibly one of the top 5 songs to be recorded in the dreaded 90's.

  • Damn! You guys are YOUNG!!!

    LMAO!!!

You missed a great era of music back then.

It was about music and enjoyment instead of like today...Money & Sex. LOL

  • @ATLien4Ever completely wrong, i think you'll find that ever era has music about Money & sex, its just what the radio decides to play. Radio music sucks btw

  • @Sschulzey

    Wrong? Completely!?

You need to think about that again, young one. Different eras were NOT about ALL Money & Sex. Maybe that's your interpretation, because of the era you were/are raised in. I've played in TOO many bands to know. And we've made music about having a fun, good times, love & romance.

We had messages in the music, and knowbody cared about how much money they'd have, or what they got, nor "sexing" a person as if it was a sport or game...please.

  • @ATLien4Ever Im not talking about other eras, im talking about the current era. btw, thinking back on my comment (2 months ago) i actually agree with you to some extent, "instead of like today...Money & Sex." i agree with that, but mainstream music (thats known to you as this era) is really not, its only what the radio puts up and personally, those messages are shit.

Music that i listen to, radio decides not to play because it's "scary music" or wateva, but the message is strong and positive

  • @ATLien4Ever THEY WERE SO UNDERATED AND THE LEAD SINGER WAS HOT AS FISH GREASE

  • @ATLien4Ever Couldn't of said it better myself!!
