  • 4 people drive a prius

  • funny how they have the fan on the front of a mid mounted engine car. Your suppose to ram air in the side vents. amazing car

  • the radiator is still in the front.

  • yeah the fan is for airflow to the engine not to cool it down.

  • no it's not... the engine will suck air in regardless of it being forced in. It doesn't HURT to put a fan on the intake, but the cars CAN overheat. Some cars also have an airflow sensor near the radiator. If no airflow is detected, the engine will run in limp mode as a precautionary measure.

  • i highly doubt that otherwise in traffic your car would overheat everytime, the cooling system functions regardless of fast or slow moving air. The engine however needs a rapid and constant flow of air to function at it's peak hence why they are doing a dyno test to see it's peak performance.

  • NorthShore is right, this is done to cool the engine down, not to provide air.

Every car has a small fan in the front which turns on if the car is running idle to long because its going to overheat otherwise.

You often see people with overheated engines when its really hot outside and they got stuck in traffic for a long time.

  • @HugMyNutz. the radiators are in the front, the "side vents" are there for the engine to breath, not to cool.

  • I agree. I love the Look of this car but i am not impressed with the engine. I do not think this car should be so slow. I mean the acceleration is the same as the S8. I wanna see how the V10 will perform. Audi says something like 3.9 secs. 0-100

  • That will be interesting to see, and technically now that Audi owns Lamborghini, I wouldn't be surprised to see Audi's badge on a Lamborghini platform. Audi should definitely be doing more with their R8 though, I mean crap, if the E63 Mercedes Wagon can outrun this thing, then Audi needs to do some additional work!

  • really cool vid, thanks for sharing

  • Is that a white Xk(maybe R?) in the background?

  • It is indeed. It's the XKR I believe.

  • oh yeah..i just got one in silver..I absolutely love this car

  • The best car ever just perfect

  • where is the back bumper?

  • You gotta strap that car down from the back. Unable to do it with the rear bumper on.

  • ur just not able to strap it wit the bumper in this car, not every car

  • wow 22 years old and uve got the money for a £75,000 sports car, unlikely

  • @Cptwhawkins why is it unlikely. Some people just work harder than others, simple as.

  • course you have mate. Who is insuring it? Bullshit insurance PLC.......

  • Sure its not because you cant afford the extras ;)

  • Any chance you could just get the exhaust noise from accelerating/revving the engine or anything?

    That would be great!!

  • wow 391whp, thats like 470-480hp at the crank with 22-25% drivetrain loss, thats amazing.

  • I think that's the correct 'flywheel' HP, it usually is the biggest figure on those graphs ;)

  • no flywheel hp is 420 on those cars.

  • And you think loss through the 4WD system is only 7%?

  • if you read the side bar they are testing their new exhaust, if you watch the whole video it shows them looking at their active exhaust valve in action so that figure is what they got after installation of their exhaust system

  • what does the exhaust valve do?

  • Changes the sound of the exhaust, so quiet at town/low-rev speeds, then loud as at full whack!

  • r8 is god

  • The car looks squashed

  • that car sounds so nice.
