Mythbusters did this. Turns out that all this does is SEAT the tire, not inflate it. After a while the hot gas inside cools and causes a vacuum, thus requiring you to still inflate the tire.
@sony040 why fake it, it's so easy to do. the expanding gas(the little poof of fire) quickly fills the inside of the tire trapping some of it inside causing the tire to expand thus filling it with air and fitting it to the rim. Learn some basic science before you start judging such things bra
