Never was a Chili Pepper fan but I always loved watching his soloing, nothing too crazy, but the dude just has freakin clean chops when he needs to put them out there. Classy drummer.

@olflatop i dont know, man.. the peppers sound is much different from this one.. his roles on the two bands are much different! this sounds gives him more space to improvise and be busy, while in the peppers, as he said, his job is to lay out the funkiest groove canvas for the other to paint on top of it!!

hey around 0:19 hes doing the drum fill with a snare roll while hitting the tom i get what hes doing but i can ever to sound clean or like that at all and stuff if anyone can understand and give me like the sticking or notes or technique to play it that would help cause i would really like to add it to my drum fills that i know

@NiteRaveCO In a nutshell, what he's doing is "dragging" the drumstick from the tom down to the snare, while playing the left hand like he's doing a role (i.e. double bouncing). But when he "drags" the stick down from the tom to the snare, he's doing it on the rebound, so that he doesn't hit the rim of the tom or snare. I hope that helped! It's sorta difficult to put into words.

@NiteRaveCO I'd also say it's important to have sufficiently reverberating snares for the one-hand roll to ever sound fluent, otherwise the snare will sound like it has stopped in between hitting it. Anyway, you might have got it by now!
