"High-k" stands for high dielectric constant, a measure of how much charge a material can hold. Different materials similarly have different abilities to hold charge.
nope, this cpu outperforms intels extreme processors, its the gamers/overclockers dream cpu to be honest it can support such high fsb with quite a low voltage so it can be easily overclocked yet as its 45nm and has low voltages stay very cool, this cpu with 9800gx2 will get 50fps on crysis, ultra high settings 1650x1050 res [ CHECK OUT 'MAXISHINE' LATEST VIDEO TO SEE THIS :D]
wrong, the SLI occurs in the graphics card, it doesnt matter if the mobo doesnt support it in this case. Would only matter if he tried to put in two seperate cards in two seperate PCI slots. His solution doesnt require that
Data Corruption - not Political Corruption - with NVIDIA's Latest Boards
However, none of that compares to the data corruption problems we are seeing intermittently on the 790i and 780i platforms. We honestly thought NVIDIA had solved these problems back in 2006 on the 680i platform. Since the MCP has not changed, it is disconcerting to us that this problem seems to be rearing its ugly head again.
This time, the data corruption problems appear contained to memory overclocking, especially on the 790i boards. We are not talking massive overclocks here, but apparently hitting the right combination of FSB rates around 400 and memory speeds above DDR3-1600 seem to trigger our problems. Also, we have been able to reach higher DDR3 speeds with absolute stability on the 790i than on the X48 during extreme overclocking, so this problem is even more perplexing to us.
am hearing more and more about theese corruption issues, it seems it happens on the reference boards as well as on the asus and foxcon design as soon as the FSB or memory clocks are increased, even if its only 10Mhz. This all makes it sound like a chipset problem or a problem with the fundamental bios code that all of the board vendors are using.
4.3 mother of god...got the same processor, haven't even tried OC yet because I've never done so before, first build and no cooler.. now on the cooler, been looking about, hyper 212+, xigmatek dark knight, scythe Ninja 3? what is better hd4890 or 9800 gx2
patriktheking1992 2 years ago
you can't make that Comparison because 9800GX2 is dual Gpu built in and it's a card
released 2008 (has a poor suport in drivers)
and HD4890 is single gpu it's the latest card from ati, and offers great price / performance ratio, but that does not mean that it's faster
than the GX2.
i hope you understand

Doesnt the CPU kinda bottleneck the graphics card?
linwoodskivins 3 years ago
nope, this cpu outperforms intels extreme processors, its the gamers/overclockers dream cpu to be honest it can support such high fsb with quite a low voltage so it can be easily overclocked yet as its 45nm and has low voltages stay very cool, this cpu with 9800gx2 will get 50fps on crysis, ultra high settings 1650x1050 res [ CHECK OUT 'MAXISHINE' LATEST VIDEO TO SEE THIS :D]

ohh cool

obviously he doesn't know E8*** series...
this is the most recent top Core 2 Duo processor, written in 45nm.. extremely overclockable... GX2 might bottleneck E8500 lol
just kiding..

hahaha sli don't work on this bord only crossfire wil work you need a nvidia bord to run sli
RRMMRRMMRRMM 3 years ago
wrong, the SLI occurs in the graphics card, it doesnt matter if the mobo doesnt support it in this case. Would only matter if he tried to put in two seperate cards in two seperate PCI slots. His solution doesnt require that
scotsocool 3 years ago
he doesnt want to use sli

Isnt the maximus formula a ati crossfire support board...
DanXartz 3 years ago
Intel chipset only suports crossfire...
i rather like nvidia cards then ati, but i prefer not having sli and have intel chipset for intel processor in a Asus mobo.

dw he is just a tard nvidia make some of the best chipsets around for intels processors if you going to build a nvidia rig go with an nvidia chpset

This all makes it sound like a chipset problem or a problem with the fundamental bios code that all of the board vendors are using.

keep saying "if you going to build a nvidia rig go with an nvidia chpset" ???
can't post links here just search at anandtech, and xtremesystems
