  • Wow thats slow my rig gets it up in 20 s and thats with out the ssd.. sure its like way faster desktop but.. the ssd didnt seem to make much diffrence in that computer..

  • How much of that speed is due to the SolidStateDrive? 90% of it I'd venture a guess.

  • Memory is another big factor for boot up times, so I won't say 90% just for the hard drive.

  • @mastrogel RAM is basically an SSD, it is essentially a volatile storage rather than the SSDs ability to be non-volatile and store data without the constant need for power.

  • I had 7 running on 7200rpm HDD and then switched over to a cheap ebay ocz 120GB solid SSD. The boot time went from about 38s down to 29s on a non-clean install. The ssd really starts to make a difference when you start opening up programs. MS word goes from 10s opening time to less then 1s!
