This book reminds me of some other book written about that time-well 12 years less.
I'm talking about "septem sermones" by Jung.At the end of it there`s an anagramm that I bravourously solved. It says:It makes no sense to solve anagramms-live your life!
Perhaps the key insight of Jungian psychology is that mental illness isnt a purely individual phenomenon, but a manifestation of larger imbalances in the culture and psyche of mankind. Schizophrenics are the scapegoats of a culture which clings to it's own superficial certainties, refusing to confront the contradictions and questions bubbling up from it's own depths; they are the receptacles of all the psychical garbage which has been denied and has yet to be dealt with within the culture.
Variation on the Heisenburg principle. Corgan is not free associating. He knows in advance that his interview with Stebbins will be based on Jung. He sees the boat and associates it on Jungian terms. He knows he is being interviewed by a Jungian, that the audience is comprised of Jungians, and so interprets the image along those lines. If Stebbins showed the same image to some 12-year-old in China who has never heard of Jung he would get a different response.
The fuck is Billy Corgan there for? What a pretentious asshole. I remember when he was hanging out with Marilyn Manson, and Twiggy at this CMJ thing back 13 or so years ago. I met them. Manson was okay, Twiggy was cool.
He was a prick then and it's good to see he hasn't changed.
Is this what he is doing besides dooping people in to believing The Smashing Pumpkins have reunited?
seriously, would you consider yourself, in general, to be a good person. It isn't a trick question....I just want to know if you consider yourself to be good, in general.

Thank the Lord I threw away ALL of my Carl Jung books. That guy had nothing to offer but trash. I pray that anyone who reads this will repent of their sins, turn completely away and realize that without the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior (the God of the bible) you are completely lost and headed for Hell. Repent, cling to Jesus for dear life and be born again. Let those who have ears to hear Hear!
seems ur the one going to hell, not the ones who actually question the validity of hell, not that a satan is there waiting for us so he can poke with a schtick all day
@muselessjess - Well, I've read the Bible and found many contradictions, and for the most part it made no sense. Whereas the writings of Jung make incredible sense to me.
I suppose it's all in the mindset. Personally, if the God of the Holy Bible exists, I think he's a malevolent egomaniac bent on human suffering. Read the book of Job for the gory details. And that book is just one small example of your God's sadomasochistic tendencies.
@bfall66 “At that time (1907) I analyzed at least at least four thousand dreams a year.” –CW3, par.557, 1957 “I have made it a rule to remind myself that I can never understand somebody else’s dream well enough to interpret it correctly."—Man And His Symbols, p.42,1961. Jungian psychology is riddled with contradictions. First Jung says he has the ability to interpret dreams, then he says he doesn't. Jung not only lies; he contradicts himself. It goes on and on. Comment?
@Darrell861 well hes not saying it so black and white as your saying. He may be saying that there is no exact science on dreams yet. and that he tries his best.
On an even stranger not is wtf is corgan doing here.
@Guitarstring187 Corgan is a good musician. You might as well ask wtf I am doing here. What I am saying is black and white. Don't let anyone interpret your dreams. The only thing less scientific than dream interpretation is playing the kazoo. I agree with Corgan.
so who have you been spending time with that you have not noticed hypocritical behavior all humans? For very action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Everybody lives in dynamic balance of opposites, if you only pay attention you will find it.
@Spanglefeather I didn't say hypocritical behavior. I'm talking about a psychiatrist breaking the Hippocratic Twice Jung gives case studies of analysis. In both cases he deteermines the subject is on the verge of death. In neither case does he inform the subject of his diagnosis He s breaing the Hippocratic Oath. The two are Memories, Dreams Reflections p.134-36, and p.59-60 ff of Man And His Symbols.
@bfall66 I see what you mean, but I think the reason why God is somewhat bent on human suffering; is because he is putting mankind through a test. And if we make choices based upon what we are presented with through him.......we will be rewarded in some shape or form. Aside from that.....the whole Job ordeal, if you read the whole book instead of just a few chapters or verses you will find out that it was just a test and God rewarded Job for making the right choices.
I think he lied about the first image he noticed. The boat was probably the second, the sun probably the first. I say that because psychologically speaking, the human eye tends to gravitate toward light colored objects faster than it does dark ones. It's happened in studies all the time. Anyways, cool vid, and thanks for the upload :)
dude the boat is HUGE and in the middle of the picture. first thing i noticed to when the camera panned over. and no, i hadn't read your comment first. then again, from the camera perspective the boat appears first since it's revealed from right to left and not all at once.

@seyoumeye - I don't believe it's the original. While the original was being scanned, the technicians were very meticulous and wore gloves.
I don't think it would be given over to these people to fondle.
