  • Wow! Just beautiful.

  • Vocally ,the best interpreter was the brilliant Patti Lupone-she was the original and greatest Norma,Her voice is sublime, she was the greatest Evita too.

  • Have always been interested in seeing footage of the 1stNT. Couldn't imagine such a massive set going on tour but it seems they actually pulled it off! I saw the show 3 times in L.A. and remember the scale and look of the show vividly. This really isn't much different. The staircase is lower and the mansion's floor space is slightly smaller but that's about it. The most noticeable change to me is the adapted orchestration.

I really, really like Linda's take on the role.

  • Actually, they used the same large orchestra as the stationary tour. And, true, if you look closer in others scenes, you can see numerous subtle differences. Also, the bust at the edge of the bannister is much smaller than in the full scale version.

  • Yes, Linda is very unique. Her Norma is the most tragic and sympathetic; even more so than Betty Buckley.

  • I remember HEARING this costume descend the stairs . . . .what an amazing scene

  • Did you see this version of the show?

  • Yes I did, In St. Louis.

  • It must've been amazing hearing Linda's voice live in a theatre!

  • Really? Maybe it's the audio quality but it sounds as if some of the instruments double up for others and as if there are less overall.

You're right the bust is much smaller here. That's one of the first things I noticed. I wish I had the opportunity to see this tour but it never came near L.A. I saw that one other tour with Petula. Ugh. Horrible.

  • Well, the 2nd tour DID have a smaller orchestra, but Ron Bohmer told me he was actually shocked that this production hauled the same sized orchestra as the Broadway show.

  • Linda Balgord is amazing. I know her very well, and she is one of the sweetest women you'll ever meet. Tour 1 is by FAR the best of sunset. And ron bohmer is NOT HARSH!! most amazing joe gillis i've ever seen! honestly one of the most talented men on broadway in a long time!!!!!!

  • LOL, Relax! I also think Ron Bohmer's the nicest person ever. I just felt his Joe was a bit too... Umm... "Stuck up."

But Linda is the best! And you're right, the sweetest, nicest person I ever had the privilege to speak with. She's an amazing star and I'm proud to be one of her fans! =)

  • yeah the set for tour 2 was very BLAH (kinda like the set for U.S. Tour 5 of "CATS" (the majority of the stops on that tour uses a inflatable set while the real one is used for perforances outside the US or places like Hawaii)

  • Though, you must admit, it'd a very unique design... "Sunset Boulevard" with an inflatable mansion!

  • Do you have any clips of Rita Moreno? or Frederique Sluytermann van Loo?

  • Sorry, Rita Moreno was never on long enough to get a video made... And I don't even have Pia or Simone on video, let alone rederique Sluytermann van Loo!

  • Well thank you anyway. You have some really great videos anyway.

  • This is from the 2nd Tour?

  • Whoops, sorry, I'll fix it.

No, can't you see this isn't a piece of crap? Therefore, it must be the 1st US Tour!

  • FABULOUS!!!
