I aimed almost exactly where you were and the result was always a fail. So that means if you move your aim a thousandth of a millimetre and the jump will fail. 1. I'm pretty sure it is luck when you have never done the shortcut before and have no idea where to aim without being hit by the wall or doing a lower (normal) jump.

And there is a trick to it, you dont do it same way as the old one, if you didnt notice. Everything isn't going to be easy as cake for you. The fastest medium character is Daisy. She is awesome with the Mach Bike, since her two bonuses are Speed and Mini Boost.
