  • if i were too wear a boonie hat and the desert locusts would they react awkwardly?

  • So the Revision Locusts and the hakkotsu iron face have no gap between the goggle and the mask, unlike the Flakjak goggles and the Hakkotsu Iron face?

  • Do the black bear raider lower face masks works well with the bullet ant goggles? Also how much do these goggles fog up?

    Thanks.

  • Kinda Pricey :\

  • do they work with glasses?

  • @PararescueAirsoft

It is best to use prescription inserts as most eyeglasses are not close enough to the face to fit in the goggles.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup were would i get prescription inserts

  • @PararescueAirsoft

I have never done it, but I would first try to contact Revision Military at their website and then work with my optometrist.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup oh so it would bassicallhy be like glass lenses built in? sounds to expensive

  • @PararescueAirsoft

The Desert Locust comes with notches for inserting a very basic frame to hold standard sized round lenses. You have to get the lenses for the Revision frames from your Optometrist. It is a little expensive. I have seen people play with them during games, but I have never asked how much it cost.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup alright thank you i will continuing looking around to see if they fit with glasses

  • @auburnmedicalgroup will my glass es fit under the locust

  • @Sp3eDyTuRtLe They will only fit if they sit very close to your head all the way around.

  • A few days ago, I was on the field running my new Wolfspider goggles with a mesh half-mask. I did leave a little gap between the goggles and the mask on my nose for comfort, but the goggles were adjusted tightly. I actually had a BB enter and strike just below my right eye, which was covered by the goggles. Fortunately I wasn't injured, but it scared the hell out of me. I may go back to using an Iron Face mask and sealing it with my goggles.

  • Revision Desert Locust Goggle are like 40 to 60$ :)

  • I'd like to see a fog test with these goggles

  • Do the NWT Desert Locust Military Goggles by Revision fog up?

  • @ilipowpow

If you do not use antifog and sweat alot yes, if you use the anti fog its all good.

  • does all of revision's lenses bb proof? because if i used the vipertails during airsoft would they protect me.

  • @AngrySquirrelFilms

They are about 4mm thich pollycarbonate and can withstand an air rifle pellet point blank. So yes

  • From real life experience I must say that the Desert Locust goggles do not fit well at all with the iron face mask.It may be because I have a larger and wider head than the dummy Dr. Airsoft used but there is a sizable gap in the nose bridge area any way I wear it.

You can most likely modify the Iron Face mask to make it fit properly which I will try at a later time but I would suggest going for something like the Heroshark mask.

  • U really dont need to test these on the airsoft gun the revision lenses can be shot by a 22lr and not have a mark or even penetrate

  • Just use a save face mask. They're perfect for the regular M4 carry handle sights, and to be honest, why would you ever change an M4's sights unless you want a scope? Plus you can get thermal lenses so that they don't fog up.

  • once i was playing paintball and all of a sudden i was hit between the eyes onmy mask, scared the crap out of me

  • It is always nice too know what is the best combination for safety. Remember it is always fun too play airsoft until someone gets hurt. Have fun and play safe and thank you Drairsoft for informing us on the best safety combination in terms of goggles and masks.

  • Iron Face Mask FTW

  • Now be honest, who's going to shoot another player at a sanctioned airsoft field in the face at point blank range, Don't you think a more realistic test of the products like the goggles.

We all know there is a chance of injury during a skirmish, but what fool is going to allow someone to shoot a sniper rifle at point blank range?

  • @HunterR909

Being honest, I have to report that I regularly receive new reports of accidental discharges at games which are at close range. Most documented eye injuries occured at short range (Kratz A - Am J Ophthalmol - 01-JAN-2010; 149(1): 37-44). One incident occured within 4 feet at a Fort Ord game. It is documented in NAM magazine, issue 11. These injuries should never happen. Using gear that can take a close hit is the way to prevent the most common serious eye injuries.

  • @HunterR909

    WORST CASE SCENARIO

  • @HunterR909 happened to me 2 days ago, point blank 480 fps with .30's at 10 ft away.

  • @HunterR909

Anyways why would it matter if it was the case. These can withstand an air rifle pellet at 600 FPS at point blank range with no more than a little scratch. at about 4x the weight of the avg bb theres no worrys. So why the hell do they advise against using it for airsoft if its designed to stop frags from grenades takin your eyes out. I dont get it. But your right theres a min 20m engagement distance for snipers anyways. Id never shoot someone in the face unless its an accident.

  • Could you do a review on the TMC half face masks please? They are available at shop.ehobbyasia as well as weaponblender.

  • @Aysion

We would love to try them.

  • The original mask I sent you was fitted for shooting glasses ,and the recent one ESS Profiles .You'll probably find the mask works with the revision locust when actually worn as the ESS Profiles are a very similar shape. Its worth taking into account the dummy head you use is relatively small in size, and features compared to the average face. Might be worth getting a larger/average dummy head to test on as well.

  • @herosharkno1

Your point is valid. The Heroshark performs remarkably well with the ESS, benefitting from the cortex clip which covers the nose. We were unable to place the Heroshark together with the Revision propperly on the small styrofoam head, thus the overlapping placement. I should repeat the same test with a larger sized model head in the future.

  • I would like to add that my mesh half masks are made to sit below the eyewear as mentioned in the previous review, not with the goggles sat on top of the mask. Each mask I make is individually cut to the type of goggle used by the user, and the depth from the tip of the nose to chin. So the goggle would be sitting naturally to the face, and not on top of the mask.

  • Excellent review Doc! Keep 'um comin'

  • awesome

  • ESS+Cortex Clip. Nothing gets through those. Then I normally wear a mouth guard under a Shemagh.
