Actually they are about the same speed downwind (16 is a little faster) but the 16 is better upwind.

hahaha cool!! I broke my hobie 16 mast in a sick pitchpole 3 weeks ago... How fast is the getaway compared to a hobie 16?
I think the Hobie 16 is faster, I clocked it at 22mph on GPS, but we may trade it for a miricle 20 this year so we can handle bigger waves.
