  • i bet this guy without a doubt can own a shaolin monk master within a snap of a finger. Damn man !

  • i guess greatest, not the greatest doesn't matter. Master Huang is the real deal.

  • No doubt he was the man...the greatest? Not sure...but definately high level.

  • a stupid topic , he is the greatest master ? ??? I really doubt it , my teacher is the nephew of tai chi founder , he had one secret book that the founder gave him , does this guy have secret book which only gave to the best student ?

  • @kungfughost so your saying you need a secret book to give to your best student to be a good martial artist. though i agree that its a stupid question, no one can be the greatest martial artist not within one lifetime, there will always be someone who knows something you don't

  • All so called internal martial arts is nothing more than Yoga exercises, there simple is nothing "Martial" about them; maybe 2000 years ago. Today you gona get beat down. That's why Martial Arts have evolved over the years; different nationalities, body sizes, and environments always dictates the need for change and adaptation to keep the Art relevant. Otherwise you're doing nothing more than ancient aerobics.

  • @MrWaterfighter *points and laughs* You are so bleedingly stupid you call a Chinese art "yoga." Wrong culture, wrong continent, wrong system of thought. And if you think modern fighting forms can defeat t'ai chi, I defy you to face a master of t'ai chi with whatever system you think you know and film it for YouTube.

  • @gasconne to the untrained eye you wont be able to see past the gentelness this art is a deadly one make all the moves faster and more powerful and he will be able to take you down

  • @gasconne Agreed. Only the masters knows how to apply the forms effectively in real combat because they are the only ones trusted with the full meaning of each forms. A new student can not be taught the martial arts aspect of each forms for a various reasons: (1) they have to achieve the right form first, (2) he is not yet proven worthy to be trusted with the knowledge, (3) it takes some time to master the forms. Regardless, Tai Chi has its health and philosophical aspect w/c is practical.

  • @gasconne "wrong continent"?

    lol

  • @MrWaterfighter YOUD BE SURPRIZED:)

  • @MrWaterfighter these are matial arts. they are just internal and not as visual as other ones. you fail at life.

  • There are many other Cheng Man Ching's disciples who are much knowledgeable and still teach the authentic Yang style. This guy originated from white crane before learning from Master Cheng. His teachings on tai chi were drastically deviated. No one would want to claim to be the world's greatest...just sorry to say that!

  • wish it was subtitled

  • chi and ki same meaning. chinese is chi (qi) and japanese ki. there!

  • Why do the greatest masters have the worst video cameras?

  • @TieXiongJi ---hahahahaha!

  • I just saw the movie The Last Airbender and I can tell you this chi stuff is real. So all you ignorant ppl who say this is fake need to shut up.

  • @CanonPachelbel Just for your information: The last airbender is fiction, and FX. THis here, now that's reality!

  • Master Huang seems very good. He is a fine teacher. It is sad though that there is all this debate on how great he is. I'm sure if you asked him he would smile and find it amusing. Just enjoy and realize there is no absolute teacher or superior style. Put away the egos.

  • @thpmasj1969 - thank you - this is the journey he would hope you would take - I'm sure

  • @thpmasj1969 I agree. Cheng Man Ching said that it was when he developed "humility", that he progressed. Even if we are not perfect in our humility, let us practice humility; for it is by practice, that we become perfect.

  • mmmmmh...

just by looking at his moves you can tell the student is letting himself fall every time. He intentionally bows his legs and falls over them. He sometimes begins falling even before the master moves.

  • @r0dytube Thats normal, you would break you bones everytime you train

  • Well i've done my homework and Master Huang is legit. Thank you for this.

  • worlds greatest taiji master is rather overstating it!

  • ha.. really? ok mate, maybe do your homework and then post something better!

  • What homework do I need to do? How is/was he the worlds greatest taiji teacher...? I'm not saying he wasn;t any good just not the greatest...

  • @resonance10 Yes he is / was the greatest!

  • @resonance10 do you have any idea to whom you are referring your idiotic comment?!

  • Hi Can anyone translate?

  • It's hard to believe from watching it...

I believe in chi and inner martial arts, and using your 'true' energy, but I've never experienced it, so I have no idea what it's like. I want to experience it someday so that maybe I'll understand it better.

  • @therealshugjr chi flows within every human .. and animals.

each person feels chi differently, some will feel their hands become cold while others will feel hot etc. everyone feels Chi but nvr realize that they are feeling it. One has to be sensitive enough to feel it.

  • @plovakia I think i can feel my chi sometimes, when i do feel it, its in my legs and kind of feels like a relaxing and tingling feeling. could that be my chi or something out of the subject?

  • consider taking a Tai Chi class or send me a private message. It is quite simple to feel chi - and for the sensitive it happens often. It reminds of the chills and a buzzing sensation that warms. It is not impossible to describe in such a way that one may be able to do so - with 222 characters left - you may want to google /wiki ki gong

  • @therealshugjr, I have been hit with enough power to be thrown back few feet & got up without a problem, at the same time I have been hit where my body collapesed where I stood & it took weeks to start feeling better, it depends how the chi was sent through your body and I will tell you it felt horrible, you feel sick and lack any energy for a while.

  • Before using chi, one should learn using ki.

Most of this is simply bringing the use of your own kinetic energy as also the energy of the opponent to an optimum.

These old geezers know by perfect sensitivity where exactly that eye of the needle is where you can simply let your arm fall so that the opponent can't withstand.

    So, most is physics.

Study that before anything else. It is at least just as impressive. ;D

  • Dude... 気 is pronounced 'Ki' in Japan (where I live) and 'Chi' in China.. It's the SAME THING?? Trying to be technical like this doesnt make sense..

  • @TeamWuJin actually that comment he made is the dumbest because its impossible to effectively use the external without developing the internal first. thats in all things since its spiritual first, then material otherwise you WILL exhaust yourself and its why older karate masters are in such bad bad shape . the fighting part is the silliest, i would never pursue it . i would always pursue the internal always.

  • @FinalKenny2 ki is chi. chi is an energy source

  • @FinalKenny2 R tard alert.

  • @FinalKenny2 What a whole lot of crap. "Ki" = "Chi". You're talking about "Li".

  • @KelGhu its fi

  • Internal Fa jin (emitting energy) is different from regular chi you feel in your body. The only way I can describe it is kind of like lightning or electricity, that travels along the meridians of the body like wires. Years and years of study to learn, I gave up and went for a harder style.

  • I was wondering about the science behind this? Does it have something to do with neurons because I heard that it is controlled entirely by the mind. Neurons send signals electrically.

  • @Interrogater

Your mind can control it, but Chi itself is technically the purest form of energy. Think of what the human body is made of, and all the different kinds of energy needed to sustain life. Humans have all those energy within them, but never really notice the effects in everyday life. When you cultivate Chi, you can feel the effects of all the energy within your body. Once you can feel Chi (energy), you can then begin to manipulate it to do certain tasks.

  • what is the master doing to that guy? is he faking it by falling? or what? if i am not mistaking.

  • That is not fake. Only a few out of the people that pratice can become like him, that's why it's hard to believe such thing exist .

  • Anybody knows his full name? Is he as good as GM Chen Zhenglei?

  • His name is Huang Sheng Shyan. He used to live in Malaysia, passed away in 1992. He was of Yang Taichi lineage. GM Chen Zhenglei is of Chen Taichi lineage and is still around. So it's kind of hard to compare the two of them against one another ;-)

  • how would you even compare such techniques ?? it shouldn't even be compared, it is not a matter of fighting, it is a way of living, to balance your physical image with your spiritual one...it is not a competition...

  • Also, it's good to understand that these are students trained in being sensitive to the teacher's energy, which is why they seem to fall down so oddly.

A regular person with no training wouldn't fall down so easily, they would just shift their weight and look at him oddly.

  • actually u r wrong applezap...

i started tai chi 2 years ago...

my master showed something...he pushed me...and well...i didn't fall down...but nearly hit my head at the wall that was about...18 to 20 feet behind me O.o

  • tai chi had been around from the early dynasty... so let imagine how old it is and how effective the technic... any master that could perfect it and still kept pratice throughtout his/her life is a true master... it is build for improving body strenght, control abilities, and espically improve mind focus for life...

  • There is no way to know what is going on except being one of the students, and there is no sure way to know his skills except trying wthout being part of his close students. Admiration can give so much power that would not exist otherwise. I don't say he's not a great master, only that a video is not an evidence in itself, especially of internal power, we can only assure that this is a nice and pleasant show seen from the outside.

  • for those of you that doesn't know what he's doing, it is collecting energy with mind and body. he has been doing it for so long, that one touch can knock you unconscious or to the ground as you can see.

  • so can some one translate?

  • Somewhere in China? How about United States? You have to see Master Joey Bond - Flying Fortune Cookie on Youtube! It's the coolest, and filled with enlightening angles of thinking.

    tsai jian

  • Wow you are the typical American huh? Do you really think that any Western Culture can learn it just as good? (I am a Westerner myself) You can't! There is so much more that goes into it. It is a way of life. But you as an American sure you Americans are great at everything right? Wow. Arrogant Snob.

  • Yeah it cracks me up to see them write their little pinyin proverbs like (Good bye etc hahaha) I studied Mandarin and also worked as a tour guide for chinese years ago. I have travelled alot learning Taiji also, but I think if I didnt speak the language alot MORE doors would have been closed.

  • Yeah I completely agree. I would love to be able to focus my Chi just like that, but I fear that I consider myself to be good if I even reach 50% of what he can do. Also from where I stand, all the people that claim a 9th Dan etc. (and upon asking they've done the sport 15 years) makes me laugh. It may be possible to get it within 15 years but we'd be talking 24/7 training as the Kung Fu School in China offers it students (forgot the name haha the place were Kung Fu was developed).

  • Yeah mate, I totally Agree ay! Just one thing I wanna let you know, not puttin' shit on ya nor what you said but there are two things to consider- In the west people turn MA into a business and therefore stretch out the time between gradings and hold secrets etc, but also the Asian way of business is selling Dan certs. Honestly my last sempai (here in Japan) for Hakko Ryu Jujitsu (at the Honbu) was a 5thDan but only been doing it two years.. then again, thats at Honbu and he was pretty good.

  • This man is a true master. Research his life history. Watch this...

    watch?v=_u9RvbhqFkI&feature=related

This is him not fighting one of his students. And not losing a point.

  • I got that vid in two parts up

  • I can understand you being sceptical TT as it does look that way. The only way you will find out whether such acts are "real" or not would be to find a teacher who "knows" and who is prepared to teach it to their students. The problem is finding such a teacher, as when starting to learn tai chi one doesn't know where it will lead to. (We don't know what we don't know). Best wishes, Pathofpeng.

  • he is truely one of the gratest jedi masters.

  • This will probably upset many ppl but to me this video only demonstrates human natures capacity for suggestability and the resulting hilarity that it causes..."If enough ppl believe you then you can seemingly do anything" Hilarious!

  • 4:50 He's saying "I told you yo!" In __nese!

  • how is this even possiable?

  • distribution of weight, deflectiong energy, relaxing, correct breathing and producing the internal force of "jing". Basically as soon as the put their hands on him he is deflecting their force ever so slightly. Also, if tai chi is done properly and u r relaxed your body acts as a sort of conduit so basically for your attacker it is like they r pushing all their energy into the floor and not the person. Obv it takes years to learn tho.

  • it's inner power. many tai chi "experts" don't even know this exists.

  • why are these people falling down?

  • 'Cause they got moneys for it...

  • Lol :)

But, u may be correct too

  • I think this guy taught my teachers teachers!!

  • could have. he taught many ppl

  • WHAT IS THIS FALUN GONG

  • A type of meditation and Qi Gong practice considered a cult in China, Thats all I will say on the topic. I suggest you research and find out for yourself. A VERY touchy subject which I dont want to go into - sorry.

  • what is this man's story? where when was this video taken?

    best regards.

  • Im not sure when this vid was taken. My sifu Sigung gave it to me. There is alot of information on Huang Sheng Shyan. Wee Kee Jing has a good site with his info but I cant post it - Google it and check it out :)

  • Quite a wonderful Master but even Master Huang made the comment that there is always a higher mountain and even said that Taiji in the big scheme of things was not important. Tao is important. please refer to Patrick Kellys writing( Disciple of Master Huang)

  • True. I have one of Pats books.. Not bad :)

  • master huang sheng xian,s taiji skills were truly awe inspiring. we should all try learn from his legacy and pay our respect by trying our best in cultivating our taiji.

  • He seems to express what Ben Lo did but shouldn't the best have more than one thing to express? Lets check back when he is 100 years old and his students are in their 80's.

  • lol yeah i love technical

we know external style is only the vehicle for what we are truly cultivating eh?

    peace brother

  • very good, definitely the work of a master, but you can't call someone the world's greatest tai chi master - that's unquantifiable

  • If you wanna be technical.. yeah fine.. But in mine opion and thousands of others. Thats all that need be said. Peace

  • I tend 2 agree. Master Huang said there there was always a higher mountain and in fact that Taiji wasnt important but the Dao was important. Please refer to Patrick Kelly writings (disciple of Master Huang)

  • wow!!!

  • Formstykke (frem til play guitar) og noget push hands.
