I assure you, we're not all that foul & obnoxious. Just wanted to say from the research I'VE been doing, sounds like people LOVE living in Sydney! I am excited to explore Australia's beauty and meet people who haven't already been in touch with "toxic" Americans, and so will be willing to give me a chance.

  • What a great place!!!i was there in january 2006 can't wait to visit Sydney again

  • very beaytifull sydney.i love it.

  • @ornitorrinco01 Centrepoint is just a free standing structure, so it's not really much, plus you can go higher up in the Eureka Skydeck than anything else in the southern hemisphere, the spires of Centrepoint and Q1 make them taller which in my opinion shouldn't count. And that is one of the dumbest things ever said, Sydney having 1.5 million people more than Melbourne? You've got to be kidding, Sydney 4.5 million and Melbourne 4-4.1 million, thats 400,000-500,000 not 1,500,000!!! And Melbourne

  • @Adaadam1996 "Centrepoint is just a free standing structure, so it's not really much"

What the hell is that supposed to mean? You think that Eureka Tower is not freestanding? Centrepoint continues to be an iconic symbol, much more so than any building in Melbourne. Whether it is the spires that make them taller makes no difference, the fact is that the spire is a functional part of the structure and both Q1and Centrepoint beat Eureka. Live with it.

  • @Adaadam1996 Yes I was using older population statistics there, my bad. But the fact remains that Sydney is still bigger than Melbourne in both population and geographical size. Also if you want to really know what the dumbest thing ever said was then look at this:

"...otherwise it's the same as LA or San Diego or any other one of your cities,"

If you seriously think that Sydney is the same as LA or San Diego then you need to get out of freezing cold Melbourne and travel.

  • Shit, the USA is going down the tubes, I'm moving to Australia after college.

  • люблю эту страну, уеду туда жить!

  • sydney is the greatest

  • Are people really arguing which city is better? Morons.

  • @Starlightdust36 that's not true because sydney is the only australian city out of the 10 most livable cities on earth

  • Yeah, why though?

  • " Australians are know for being freindly".. thumps up if you argree...

  • @eddiekuzu01

yes but americans are also just as friendly :)

  • to conclude the sydney vs melbourne fight- sydney has surf beaches, melbourne does not. End of story

  • @yaketysaks Ever heard of Bells Beach man?? It's like just over an hour from Melbourne. Ever heard of Portsea? Sorrento? Lorne? I live in Melbourne but I love Sydney, it's an awesome city. But you are not going to win anything with your beaches man, go to Perth and tell me what you think of Sydney beaches after that. I would say Melboune=Sydney, depends on what you like.

  • @Booya9272 dude, 'just over an hour' is not close. A 3 minute walk is. As for Perth, its so far away from anywhere else it'd be a nightmare travelling for work and stuff and there's nothing to do anyway sooooooo yeah

  • i thought this was a good video ! i live in sydney and i love it so stfu everyone else. why all the hatred between melb and sydney? whos cares? enjoy both !!

  • WATCH the video on you tube titled...

" Immigration and the moral right to save Europe and the West! "

  • adaamdam1996 melbourne skydeck is 23metres shorter than centerpoint tower or sydney tower...... also melbourne has 500,000 people less not 100,000 --- i find that sydney is not overpopulated if u think sydney is overpopulated u have not been to other major cities like tokyo or new york.... sydney is great and i found was much cleaner and entertaining compared to melbourne in which i found there was nothing to do and stank like cigarette smoke and the streets were covered in homeless perons

  • @jamie9872334 i would agree that sydney is better than melbourne, but NYC is infinatley better than anything in Australia :D

  • @EZBreezy187 well probably city size yeah, but crime wise no

  • @MrMaffew87 Actually crime has decreased a lot in NYC over the last decade or so. Some parts of NYC probably are safer than Sydney.

  • @ornitorrinco01 come off it mate, there are americans moving over to oz every year and quite a lot of em still say that nyc isnt a safe place. Nyc still holds the highest record of crimes in the whole of the US. So what are you basing your claim on?

  • @MrMaffew87 Read my comment again. I never said that NYC has lower crime than Sydney, but I did say that the crime has decreased a lot in NYC which is true, and that there are parts of NYC that are safer than parts of Sydney which is also true. The fact is that NYC is one of the world's great cities and really in terms of energy, nightlife, places to go and things to do it shits all over any city in Australia. I love Sydney, but you can't compare it to NYC, totally different, NYC is a real city.

  • @MrMaffew87 By the way, NYC does not "hold the highest record of crimes in the whole of the US" as you put it. I should ask what are you basing your claims on?

Detroit is far more dangerous and violent than NYC and also more violent and crime ridden than just about any place in Australia. Not to mention that it is total dive. Even Miami and Washington DC have more crime than NYC. Since the late 90s NYC has actually become one of the safest major cities in North America.

  • @ornitorrinco01 so what?...that doesnt mean there's no crimes in nyc mate. and i would hardly doubt that crimes in ny have died down since the late 90s (as you've naively put it) and let's put it another way, america has the highest crime rates in the world. secondly i'm basing my claims on people I've interacted with that lived in ny before moving to sydney and not some mickey mouse research or statistics which pretty much sounds like what you're basing your claims on.

  • @MrMaffew87 "so what?...that doesnt mean there's no crimes in nyc mate."

Can you show me where I said there is no crime in NYC? Every city in the world has crime, including Sydney.

"and i would hardly doubt that crimes in ny have died down since the late 90s"

Well you are wrong, because the fact is that they have.

"let's put it another way, america has the highest crime rates in the world."

The USA does not have the highest crime rates in the world.

  • @MrMaffew87 "i'm basing my claims on people I've interacted with that lived in ny before moving to sydney"

In other words your basing your claims on meaningless bullshit.

" not some mickey mouse research or statistics"

Hate to tell you but reseach and statistics are more valid and reliable than your 'interactions' with people that have lived in New York. I seriously doubt that you have ever met anyone from New York, let alone actually travelled there.

  • @ornitorrinco01 no mate far from it and I wouldnt hardly call people's recounts of any city that they lived in to be meanlingless bs. Hate to tell you this but research and statistics are decepting, contradictable and outdated (hence why I said mickey mouse but you proved my point by saying that the pair are valid). Same with research on global warming & climate change. and yes I have met people from ny but I seriously doubt that you ever been over to compare the crime rates with sydney mate

  • @MrMaffew87 Personal stories are anecdotal, inconsistent and very prone to bias. Properly collated statistical evidence beats them every time. The real facts are that the USA does not have the highest crime rate in the world, the crime rate in NYC and the standard of living in that city have improved dramatically. Yes I have spent some time in NYC so I can make the comparison well.

  • @ornitorrinco01 Research & statistics can be contradicted by other sources as well as being decieving and inconsistent. I highly doubt that u did spend any time in ny or in america to claim that there are no crimes at all. There is proof that america is an unstable country due to it's crimes as well as other traits. To say that it doesnt have crimes nor having the highest crime rates in the world is pure fallacy. every major city in the world has crimes and ny and syd are no exception

  • Comment removed

  • @MrMaffew87 "and I highly doubt that the standard of living in ny has improved at all seeing that americans are travelling over to oz. especially going over to sydney"

Yes, you highly doubt it because you have never travelled there and seen for yourself, if you did then you would know that the standard of living in NYC is not too bad. Sure it is better here in Sydney, because here we trump them when it comes to health, education, social services etc.

  • @ornitorrinco01 No, I infact highly doubt your claims because any moronic person can easily come on youtube and make this up. And you base your claims on how ny is safer than sydney is truly questionable seeing that new york is a major city and like any other major city new york is not exclusive from crimes. I use to work for an american company mate and even all the american managers say that crimes in america is pretty bad. And I dont see how here in sydney we trump people on health etc mate

  • @ornitorrinco01 the scale of crimes in new york is completely different from sydney as well as from other major cities such as london, berlin or tokyo.

  • @ornitorrinco01 lastly, there is more than enough evidence that proves america does have the highest crime rates in the world mate.

  • @MrMaffew87 Also there are not loads of New Yorkers moving to Sydney. In fact did you know there is actually a growing number of Aussies living in NYC? Especially since they introduced the E3 visa that allows professionally qualified Aussies to work over there.

"there is more than enough evidence that proves america does have the highest crime rates in the world mate."

Is there really? Then please do provide references for some of this evidence for me to read for myself.

  • @ornitorrinco01 well infact did you know that there is 60,000 aussies living in london mate?...every aussie moves over there mainly for the same reason which is looking for careers or having a job enhancement.

  • @ornitorrinco01 no but there are loads of americans moving or visiting sydney every year. same story with americans moving or visiting the uk mainly they go to london

  • @ornitorrinco01 I'd say that america has the highest theft rate in the world where as gun crimes is considered to be second. but even so, it does contribute to the fact that america is unsafe place to be in than compared to europe or asia.

  • @ornitorrinco0 I'd say that's a debatable point considering that new york still has property crimes & common theft that still goes on. where as crimes here in sydney is mostly related to alcohol fueled violence and illegal drug dealings.

  • @EZBreezy187 Yea u;re right on that but r u in NYC my friend or just in Detroit?

  • @Tommydudez if i lived in detroit i wouldnt have a computer for one, i would either be to poor to afford one or someone wuda stolen it. but even living in detroit beats australia, seeing as you can always get in a car and move somewhere else as soon as you find one that works hehe. in australia your pretty much trapped in the middle of fucking nowhere, with killer bees and krikey crocks ! :D

  • @EZBreezy187 um I think you may find that australia is alot bigger than detroit mate seeing that detroit is a town. and I would hardly say that you would be trapped in australia with killer bees or crocs. not all of australia is crocodile dundee mate.

  • @EZBreezy187 Detroit is a crime ridden rubbish dump with high unemployment and crumbling impoverished neighbourhoods. Australia is a country with low unemployment, excellent health care, excellent education with a higher adult literacy rate than the US, a prosperous economy (i.e. no recession) and the second highest standard of living in the world after Norway. Enjoy Detroit!

By the way, killer bees are actually in the USA not in Australia.

  • @ornitorrinco01 haha ur telling me all this about detroit as if i didnt already know it wasnt the biggest shithole in north america; but the thing is, i dont even live there xD some dude said i do for some reason; but im originally from NYC and right now living in paulo alto california. ANYWAYS, talk all u want about healthcare and employment in australia, its still FUCKING BORING! haha. just give it up man, norway is shit as well. go to north america or europe, thats where life begins :)

  • @EZBreezy187 "ur telling me all this about detroit as if i didnt already know it.."

No. I'm telling you because you said that living in Detroit beats Australia and that is wrong because Australia shits on Detroit and most of the USA for that matter as a great place to live.

"ANYWAYS, talk all u want about healthcare and employment in australia"

    Yes, I will ;)

"norway is shit as well. go to north america or europe"

Norway is in Europe, and it also thrashes the USA in living standards.

  • @ornitorrinco01 and just to follow up on that; the university i go to will give me a degree by far superior than any post-secondary education i could receive in australia. that being said, i rather live in the fucking middle east than on ur little island haha; next month im going with my friend to Hong Kong so soon ill be able to tell u how much better than australia it is over there ;D

  • @EZBreezy187 "the university i go to will give me a degree by far superior than any post-secondary education i could receive in australia."

The ignorant statements you have made in the comments here are not a great advertisement for the quality of either your secondary or post-secondary education.

" i rather live in the fucking middle east than on ur little island"

That would be the same little island that is bigger than Europe. I recommend that you go to the Middle East it'll be good for you

  • @EZBreezy187 "next month im going with my friend to Hong Kong"

WOW You are one of the 20% of Americans who actually own a passport, good for you!

"ill be able to tell u how much better than australia it is"

No need to bother, I've been to HK a few times. There is a reason why so many HK Chinese migrate to Oz, because they know it offers a better lifestyle. HK is ok to visit on a stopover to Europe though, get an Octopus card they are really useful, the food is good and cheap electronics.

  • @ornitorrinco01 sorry dude, you can argue all you want; but ima clear things up. i dont have any ill feelings towards you, Australia or anyone that lives there. I just dont find it interesting whatsoever, and i doubt many people do. and thanks for the advice, ill be sure to buy alot of octopus ;)

  • @EZBreezy187 I'm not intending to argue, just correcting your blatant fallacies. Sure you may not find Australia interesting and you're entitled to your opinion (no matter how misplaced it may be), but millions of happy immigrants and travellers do find Australia very interesting. A lot more interesting for that matter than many parts of the USA, which in my opinion only has two cities that are really livable, NYC being one of them.

  • @ornitorrinco01 haha i love your philosophical approach to the argument, but no; people dont move to Australia because they find it interesting, but rather because its economicaly ideal taking into consideration their circumstances. I'm sure theres a couple crocodile hunters out there who come for the wildlife, but lets face it, Australia is a desert, and thers alot more beutiful places out there with the same ammount of ways to get killed haha. but seriously, Sydney is lame, just admit it :P

  • @EZBreezy187 "people dont move to Australia because they find it interesting"

Actually some people do, many people here from the UK for example who chose to live here because they find it a better place to live, not necessarily for pure economical reasons.

" I'm sure theres a couple crocodile hunters out there who come for the wildlife"

Well they will be very disappointed in Sydney, where the only crocodiles are in zoos and wildlife parks.

  • @ornitorrinco01 you can keep working around my central argument, but eventually you will have to come to terms with the fact, that Sydney is objectivley lame. quote me all you want, but deep down inside, you know its true. the only reason you argue in such a lauding maner is due to the fact that you are trapped on a dull island that the Brittish once used as a prison. so how about we end this silly convo, and ill get back to my exciting life in America and you go visit the crocs in the zoo :)

  • @EZBreezy187 Unfortunately you have not proposed any "central argument" for me to work around. An amusing collection of erroneous statements, that serve only to display your ignorance, does not constitute a central argument. By the way, it may surprise you to know that the British colonies in America were used as a prison too, in fact more than twice the number of convicts were transported to the American colonies than were sent to Australia. Enjoy your "exciting life" :)

  • @EZBreezy187 "ill be sure to buy alot of octopus ;)"

Lol, yes you can do that too, plenty of good seafood in HK. But the Octopus Card, if you have not heard of it already, is a smart card that you use for payment when riding public transport, you can also use it in shops and restaurants. It's very useful, always have your octopus in your pocket when you go out in HK.

  • @jamie9872334 i come from Sydney and now live in VIC.I agree with you about the comparisons of Mel and Syd

  • Melbourne is bigger except for a few people, has more of a European feel compared to Sydney's American feel, more culture, sport, music, more to explore, cleanier, looks nicer, and drive 40 minutes to the suburb of Beautiful Belgrave and take a ride from Belgrave to Emerald on Puffing Billy. Nothing in Melbourne can compare to the Harbour or beaches of Sydney, but other than those things, everything in Melbourne is better.

  • @Adaadam1996 melbourne is definitely not big at all, and that's a fact. I would say that sydney has more of a asian/american feel to it seeing that there heaps of chinese and koreans etc that live here, pop into china town and you'll see what I mean. Plus sydney has better weather conditions than melbourne seeing that we're based right next to the coast. As for the american part, well I would say that we're more cosmopolitan in that retrospect than compared to other cities around oz.

  • @Adaadam1996 omg just shut up...

  • By the way the Eureka Skydeck in Melbourne is the tallest building in Australia, not Centrepoint or as he called it 'Sydney Tower', it's way taller... And quit calling it downtown, it's called the 'city' or CBD. Sydney Harbour is beautiful, Melbourne has nothing like it, but other than that Americans, that's all there is there, otherwise it's the same as LA or San Diego or any other one of your cities, if you want something different try Melbourne, bigger city but 100,000 less people.

  • @Adaadam1996 Eureka Tower is not the tallest building in Australia, Q1 Tower on the Gold Coast in Queensland is the tallest building in Australia. It is also, at the moment, the second tallest "residential tower" in the world. You are also wrong about Centrepoint, it is actually taller than Eureka Tower. Melbourne has 1.5 million less people than Sydney, not 100,000 and geographically Sydney is bigger than Melbourne.

  • It's called the Sydney Harbour Bridge not 'The Sydney Bridge'. Dumb fuck. Sydney is a shit hole anyway. How do I know? I live there. Stop making it sound better than it is! PLEASE! There are way too many fucking tourists/Asians in Sydney. PLEASE LEAVE SYDNEY ALONE!

  • MELBOURNE OWNS SYDNEY.

  • @ItsGiselleDuhh totally agree i was born in sydney lived there for a bit and use to always defend it when some 1 would argue melbourne was better etc but ever since the 2000 olympics sydney has been on a down hill slide the shit transport system over crowded roads plus the asians and muslims that think they run the show its a fucking hell hole i h8 it, i now live far far away from that dump of a city and feel so much better... i think overpopulation is what fucked sydney up..

  • @MrAussiebogan well if you say so, you have to see perth. its worse than sydney. more asians and muslims. but luckily i dont really bother about them bcuz they didn't bother me

  • @ItsGiselleDuhh SYDNEY OWNS MELBOURNE

  • @angel55676 Maaan, NO WAY !

  • @angel55676 Perth owns no one but abors..lol

  • "A cosmopolitian mix of people on the edge of Asia"....in other words the place is alive with oriental gangsters and monolingual foreign students.

  • Yeah i live in sydney, BEST CITY IN THE WORLD! but fucking filthy stinky indians are everywhere.

  • Comment removed

  • @Gabbo2010 its just that, these indians are aggressive and causing car crashes everywhere, i got into a fight with one last week, XD

  • @Gabbo2010

I've never heard of this shirt you're on about tbh and you think the entire population of America are all Zionist Jews? I don't think highly of Blacks. some are of course, reckless criminals and there are a handful I met there who were very friendly.

I was just appalled by your language, sounds like you're racist and are taking it out on Indians, 'niggers' and now jews. do you admit that? the lebs in sydney I'd call a large number of troublemakers rather than a major threat.

  • Comment removed

  • @ACEgrand629

really? I thought it's mainly the lebs and wogs who cause the most trouble. they're known for committing the worst crimes and gangs in sydney but I hardly hear any indians causing any crimes. plus they are heaps annoying with their loud boganish voices and blaring stereos in cars with turbo-charged engines.

  • @nobodygetsmyusername yeah the annoying rats arent as peicefull as ya thought, thay can't even drive on the fucking road without causing a smash

  • @Gabbo2010

but there are a lot of lebanese gangs and thugs here in the cbd

  • Comment removed

  • @Gabbo2010

    why red/blue shirt?

  • Are there a lot of black people in Sydney like London and New York has? What kinda fashion is the most popular among teens? Do most teens wear like 50 Cent? Jay Z? or Lil Wayne like baggy jeans, big chains, bling bilng, shining diamond ear rings and of course baseball caps? or they ain't into that kinda stuff in Sydney?

  • @1234567loading

Australia unlike America did not have slavery, so there are very few blacks in Sydney. Large numbers of Asians though. Some people are into rap music but its not like London or New York.

  • @Gabbo2010 Queensland at a time used some Pacific Islanders as Slaves before Federation.

  • @QF210

I know that but it was not like the slavery that existed in the US, particularly in the US South. About 50 million people were taken from their homes in Africa to work as slaves in America. The vast majority of these people perished. The most blaring thing we have in Australia right now is the stupid Indians, the biggest racists on Earth, calling Australia racist. I say the Indians should fuck off if they don't like it here.

  • HEY there guys.... i was just wondering if sydney was a good party town... like beach parties... people on the beaches just chilling having a good time.... you know playing the guitar.... on the beach .... camp fire......... and beer and hot girls!!! you know??? just good vibes enjoying life.... is it a good party town somebody please tell me????

  • Love you, Sydney! Greetings from Russia

  • I like the opera house and The Vines :P

  • Nice job Dennis. If you like this - check out the new music video about the coolest suburb in Sydney: Glebe. Search for "Glebe Point Road Song"

  • you'd get a better view at UTS

  • don't go out at night. gangs rule at night in cities.

  • if you want to meet me, just wait in front of opera house.

I'll be there in 5 minunte.

I'm lucky that i've been living here for the past 8 years.

i have water view of darling harbour from my balcony.

i have to admit that sydney is one of the best city in the world.

i never get bored living in this beatiful city.

    proud to be Sydneysider.

  • What a great city!

  • i think its odd, when people say us Aussies are friendly,, coz we really arn't that friendly,, ill say that aussies are very down-to-earth, but friendly..?? there's a difference.!! if anything Americans,, are the most friendlist people in the world,, when you travel, you'll see this..!!

    Sydney =] forever beautiful

  • @cttn101

I moved to Oz from America, I found Aussies to be superfriendly and outgoing. Americans? It depends on the part of America that you visit.

  • Now I wonder who is going to laugh at what I am going to say, You are to fill the carparks under the buildings of sydney with sand to the brim, also you are to fill the railway tunnels running under it with sand also, soon there is going to be an Earthquake of biblical proportion after that there will be a tsunami just as big travelling very fast. These things were said 27 years ago, when I was 10 years old. People of christian belief are also prophesying the same thing, I am not sure what date

  • After 20 years of living overseas I am finally returning to my beloved Sydney. What a place, what memories and how lucky am I to go and be able to live there. A truly special place. Goodbye Athens, Cyprus and London and hello Sydney June 2011! I guess I too after all these years 'still call Australia home'...

  • The best city in the world is the one you like most! So dont give me bullshit about one city being better than the other, each person has their favourite. Accept it and move on with your life!

  • glad i live here

  • best place to get fish n chips is Darling Harbour at Ice cafe(I think that's what it's called) at the little walk up area.

  • I JUST FEEL SORY FOR YOU THATS ALL

  • dont ever try to do a course ...you can see the college but you cant reach:)

public transport fuck..I m sure iraq was much better than there..if you try one of the shops like coles,or others they check your bags and treat everyone like they are thief.

  • dont ever try to swim becouse you will never be able to swim...it s really hard to city to live..and it woudnt worth of it.....

  • @theroserose100

    So then get lost loser.

  • they look down 3th world county or other countries like a backwood ...in the realty...there is no justice in this city...or a justice system...and people standing not for they thought .they standing with drugs end ending up with mental illnesss.

i am agree with the person who mention about beriut...

  • I visited Sydney over 10 years, ago nice place to visit, and then moved permanently, a great place to live.
