It just doesn't get to 45C all that often, that's all, and it won't last anyway. Those tennis players well know the notorious hot days but still choose to come here. If they don't like it, they don't have to come!
As far as global warming stuff, we will adapt. We Aussies are a hardy bunch - not a bunch of whiners!

If it's near Carlton Gardens v intersection of Victoria St and La Trobe St, upto 3dec is artificial (heat coming of the cars, road, concrete) temp. The real temp would be 41/42 dec just 30 metres away in the Carlton Garden.

43 degrees C is bugger all ..... should try living out bush in south australia ive seen it at 52 degrees C with less than 3% humidity .........wait for this summer to warm up it will be a scorcher
