the first nightmare on elm street was better because freddy was hella creepier than the one they have now, don't ger me wrong i'm hella excited, thats just my opinion.

Big Bucks isn't always a sign that a remake will be better. Nightmare 1 was already a classic film, and with Michael Bay as a producer, I will think twice before even watching the "redo". With all of us working together and NOT seeing these remakes we can put an end to Bay, but he knows there are people gullible enough to believe his crap is worth something so we're fucked.
the remake they're making is going to be nothing like the original and its truly a shame. freddys not going to look anything like robert englund and hes not going to try to have the same voice or attitude. but i'm probably going to end up seeing it anyway but idk whether it looks good or not. :)
i have a gut feeling that in the remake there gonna make freddy out to be a normal guy...not a child killer, not a child toucher..but he gets mistaken for the killer and thats why he comes back killer there kids..sort of a fuck u,u think im a child killer,,fine ill show u what a child killer is like...i just want to believe its gonna be good but i know michael bay and he just luvs to fuck story lines up
One of thee best horror movies of the 80s.Scared the shit out of me when i was four years old,Thanx alot for that Wes Craven hahahahaha just kidding,it really is a superb excercise in fantasy horror.Better than Halloween 1, I think because NOES was released more later when horror movies really evolved.Oh yeah and Craven also did a good job on Elm st 3 before the movie became a franchise. actually Elm st 2 wasnt bad either it was done by some guy named Jack Sholder.
Sadly, there were so many PIVOTAL scenes cut out of this movie (like when Marge tells Nancy that she, Tina, Rod, and Glenn all had siblings that Freddy killed, etc.) that it is hard to watch it now without knowing the omissions made (the ending to this movie was NOT the best out of the three alternate ones filmed, either).
@TRAVISJAMES03 not really, the film is loaded with all kinds of,um what do ya say, gross stuff!!it really didnt need all that extra info.I think when freddy stands there and chops of his fingers,is enough to give anyone Nightmares.
That may be true, but the deleted scenes in which Marge tells Nancy that she, Tina, Rod, & Glenn had deceased siblings were PIVOTAL to the movie and makes you totally understand why the parents killed Freddy even more.
I love all of the cheesy sequels, so don't think I'm ragging on the film, but part 3 is creepy? lol
You're talking about the same movie where Freddy popped his head out of a TV after asking Zsa Zsa Gabor "Who gives a fuck what you think?", and had some nerd in a wizard master get-up? I know it's subjective, but I always thought that part 3 is where the series became intentionally cheesy.
nightmare on elm street the first film was awesome. there is no other horror film who could be more scary. i watched this film when i was really young .. maybe 10 or 11. maybe this is also a reason why i still honor this movie as the probably scariest of all time..
but compared to all the new "horror" movies out there .. nightmare on elm street beats them all by far and in every possible way :)
That first shot you have there of Nancy in the tub, I just bought the "Action" Figure of that! and I have a modle kit of Nancy sleeping in Tina's bed and Freddy's face comming out of the wall! I love them!
0:12 that scene in the movie looks like he is guna claw her in the vagina O.o lolz

I assume that the still from 0:29-0:36 were deleted scenes out of the movie because I don't recall them. A shame....

This movie was the best in the series. This was when Freddy was scary rather than Funny.

The makeup in the first one waz the creepiest by far! Just look at the pic at 4:01 !!
The effects and makeup in general were realistically done in this movie that had a fairly low budget.
Truly a masterpiece!

The Film Was Scary But It Could Never Beat John Carpenter's Halloween,No Way

Halloween was the original slasher teen film, and was scary. but it is not the best and scariest slasher.
