WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS LEGALIZE THE GROWING OF THE HEMP PLANT!!!!!!!
this will stimulate the economy, create multiple jobs, limit use of crude oil, strengthen soil, help clean our air, and help save forests, so many things can be produced using hemp, such as paper, textiles, cosmetics, paints, clothing, nutritional foods, insulation, and animal feed. Not to mention bio degradable plastics, oil to heat homes, and fuel for our cars, the list just goes on and on, why is this not a discussion???????
Cavuto: I think I know what I'm talking about. Stein: I know what I'm talking about. Cavuto: You're supposed to be on my side Ben! Woman: I want to sound angry! Black guy: I want to sound like I know what I'm talking about. Other white guys: I can't get a word in.
LOL another load of horse hey brought to you by Fox Business news...get real, kids, they bring you what they want to bring, you, no truth, only whatever can attempt to make Obama's administration look bad. Gosh, he ordered a hamburger with no ketchup and they busted on him about it being un-American. FAUX News FTL, kids.
they should have let them fail. why do people continue to listen to the guys who cant seem to predict anything and continue to ignore the guys who have been getting it right the whole time? stein didnt even see the housing bubble and argued against those who did. the markets are trying to purge out the disease but the government keeps feeding it and allowing it to grow.
ignorant americans are too used to getting pre-approved credit cards in the mail. american greed caused this crisis so now you should all just shut up and go into a depression. as of today one Australian dollar would cost you $1.05 US. YES, the aussie dollar is worth more than the american dollar. america is the problem. we should just cut them off and ignore them. NO MORE CREDIT FOR AMERICA ! make them suffer the consequences of their actions
Ben is a world class economist. He has been in every level of buissness. No matter what happend. Bush, Obama, McCain, or who ever. Those bailouts needed to happen. Ben may not be speaking from the conservative ideological perspective. But i respect that because sometimes you have to dump that in order to do whats right. That's the kind of economist we need for our country.
There is not any problem with bailout of bank, if citizens have their money in it. But nationalize it in the process, so people could control it through elections.
But that's not in sync with neoliberalism theory which some say was put in practice for redistribution of money from poor to rich.
Mr Honda traveled across Europe buying motor scooters and car parts shipped them to Japan where they were disassembled analyzed and copied by the engineers At the time Japan was flattened by world war 2. It is time the BIG 3 does the same thing. with Japanese and German Autos.
"Is it time to stop digging ourselves into a deeper hole?" hmmmm where was that statement when Bush was in office. Fox News is so bias, it's unbelievable. where was Fox News when Bush allowed backdoor bailouts for AIG?
No we dont need to bailout anyone if anything we need to give loans to the banks with at least a 20 -30 percent interest rate like banks give us with credit cards then everyone wins including the American people whos tax dollars actualy makes money instead of being thrown away to banks that robbed us blind then when they fail at there business they come to us for a hand out.
OK, Stein has a degree in Economics & a J.D, and Cavuto was a White House Intern...Are you serious? And Cavuto is trying to argue with an economist, GET A LIFE! Cavuto needs to stick to reporting the news which is his specialty, and leave the economics to the pro's??
shouting match between Ben stein and Neil? yes i see that, i also see a typical newsroom rumble, because they are not the ONLY people who are screaming at each other...
if you are going to post anything, at least do not twist the truth around... make it seem like he is horrible...
I'm confused, before the "discussion" between the two, you said Ben Stein was conservative, but what he told Cavuto was very liberal. Any real conservative will say that the government needs to get out of the way of the economy and let it be free so it can repair itself.
I`ve seen a few very uneducated people watch these people speak and say,,,"wow, these people really don`t know how to talk to each other" and its true, children in grade 2 can express themselves with more rule than these clowns.
It goes to show that telivision is all a show, Ben stein is no genius, and they are all working together to relay the same piece of propaganda............can anyone else see this or not?
Ben Stein knows his science, and the atheist need to get that delusion out of their heads. Anyway, they are really mad at each other, all of them. LOL.
Ben Stein accusing that guy of the the post hoc ergo proctor hoc logical fallacy is funny. Go to Bens debates with Richard dawkins and his interviews with Bill O'reily.
He commits every logical fallacy you can think of in a tiny paragraph of dialogue . I wish he applied these smarts to his religious beliefs.
Cavuto is right. NO ONE wants or will allow a Depression on their watch, but a new Depression would shake us out of our stupidity in spending more than we make.
How can printing money solve problem, if money supply increases but the production doesn't increase then the value of the money goes down, common sense if you have done high school economics, Ben Stein is completely wrong in supporting bailout, bailouts just don't work the way they are intended to.
It was and is fake life support. The sh*t just hasn't hit the fan yet. The sooner people realize this the sooner people can prepare for their future properly.
Ben Stein is a fool here. He thinks we are out of the woods I guess. Well, lets see what happens over the coming years. I wish I had 50 pounds in gold to hold me over the incoming inflation.
The lady on this show is a stupid bi*ch. What people don't get is that there is a major problem and pain is inevitable. The longer the government makes mistakes the worse the pain will be.
Even if the Fed did over compensate by increasing the money supply too much through Bank bailouts, it is not nearly as difficult of a problem to fight future inflation as it is to deal with multiple financial collapses that could stretch worldwide and make 1930's depression look like a joke. Its just so stupid that we are comparing this to the Weimer Rupublic. They didn't have a choice but to monetize their deficits, the 1918 peace treaty forced them to pay it. This isn't the same thing at all.
The female contributor is incedibly melodramatic. At about 9 mins she delivers a speech as though she's auditioning for a movie and at the end her eyes drift directly into the camera. You can imagine her thinking to herself " that was good hope the camera got all of it."
Notice how Ben Stein is arguing vehemently for the spending when Bush was leading the charge, and now he is a top critic of Obama doing the same thing?
This is kinda funny cuz ben stein actually pointed out a logical fallacy. Watching his less than pre-elementary level conversations on Science, evolution, and religion, I almost forgot that this guy wasnt a bumbling idiot. He actually said things that make sense and which NO ONE is saying anymore. Nobody seems to look at the lessons we should have learned from 1929-1933. If only he could apply this intelligence level to Science and Religion, we may very well have another Atheist, lol
I just took a macro-economics class in college and I say screw the bailouts. The quickest way to recovery is to let the market fix itself. Govt. intervention is what caused it in the first place.... No firm (incuding banks) are to big to fail. It will happen again, says history.
Ben Stein still hasnt learned his lesson. Charles Payne has no credibility, he was cheerleading these institutions a couple of years ago. he has since changed his tune. I've seen the woman many times and she's never said anything that makes any sence dont know why they keep calling on her.
I have to agree sir! he is facing idiots tho, makes him look better than he is! I loled at what the black guy was trying to say, blently repeating what he heard somwhere else!
@Militarized thats funny - i totally disagree with ben here - as im not a communist - but i loved his "expelled" documentary...so- i suppose your darwinian idiocy would propel you into your stalinesque fascist anti free market mindset
@Militarized I respect Stein's desire to prevent the direct censorship of teachers for their religious beliefs. There are a lot of things science doesn't have a clear answer for, such as the evolution of DNA transcription. I am disappointed that he is a creationist, and I don't think creationism should be taught in science classes as science - I also think that I haven't found satisfactory answers to the genesis of the cell and the source of sentience. I respect Stein and disagree with him.
@Militarized Why? OK you may not agree with Expelled, No Intelligence Allowed, but you have to agree that it raised the issue: are scientists being ostracised for even suggesting intelligence was involved with the creation & development of life or is it not true? If true, it is a disgrace.
You are able to adopt a poor African child, give it food, give it a house, give it all the love it needs. But you don't do it. Are you an asshole because of that? Or do you think that Africans should manage their problems on their own?
free will? really? Did you choose whether or not you would live? Did you choose who your parents were? what they taught you? Did you choose what kind of brain you have? what kinds of emotions you feel? Do you know how much your behavior is effected by your brain? free will is impossible. everything that you do, say, think etc can be explained by your various parts. you, after all, couldnt do the things you do without them.. is free will in there somewhere?
well are we created with free will??? or do we obey are genetic imperative, we will do what we must not always what we want! brainbashing religion to kids for example demonstrate what I mean prefectly! u sir are naive!
Wow, fox just continues to show their professionalism...............any sane, non ignorant person can clearly see past their bullshit. It's sad to know that people actually listen to the fake news presented by murdock's channel of hate, racist, and biased ideals.
Fox news is a disgrace. Cavuto is an absolute fuckwit and whoever that black guy was, he had no place being interviewed as a pundit, nor the moron with the moustache.
What is wrong with getting people on who understand what they are talking about? And why does the host feel the need to shout? It's like Bill O'Reilly - I'm wrong and I can't back up my position, so instead I'll just shout over you and say I'm right. What a prick.
Banks are like drug dealers- when one goes down another will spring up in it's place. Let the banks fail. Like natural selection, the dumb ones will go extinct and be replaced by better ones. They will invariably learn from the mistakes of their forerunners.
Woah, that lady came straight out of the gate yelling like an idiot. I hate news shows where all anybody does is scream at each other. Whatever happened to civilized discourse?
It would appear as someone who does not live in America, that the 'news networks' in the US are not in fact news networks. They seem to specialize in entertainment.
i like it how people have always viewed stein as intelligent until he made that creation movie and all of a sudden he's an idiot...wouldn't that kinda prove his point in the movie?
Most have an agenda against his beliefs nothing more or less. He's not even propagating his belief in the movie but the fact that those who support Darwin's theory of decent of man are so critical of raising objections to it.
Ben Stein is absolutely right here adn monetarists and Keynesians would both agree that much more stimulus was needed. Before you characterize these perspectives, tell me waht Keynesian or Montarist works you've read. Did you read Keynes' General Theory? Did you read Milton Friedman's Monetary History of the United States? If not, then you have no idea what you're criticizing.
Actually he is very very very far from a liberal idiot. He just happens to have a liberal view in regards to bailing out the banks and auto industry to save the economy.
It's beyond a joke, it's destructive. Faux News have been misrepresenting facts, distorting the truth and misleading the public for years. From what i've seen, it's presented by a bunch of poorly educated conservative, patriotic, religious nutjobs, attempting to enforce their ideas, silence critics - O'Reilly "shut up" "I'm gonna cut you off," etc and misinform the American people.
Right on Ben. My job along with many others was saved because of the stimulus package. Neil Cavuto gets paid plenty for yelling. He doesnt give a crap if he is wrong - he just wants to be on youtube.
Stein made a fool of himself in August 18, 2007, when he repudiated Peter Schiff on the financial crisis that was yet to come. They all laughed at Peter then. Ben Stein may see things differently today, after having been fired by the NYT for criticising Obama.
WOW,I agree with Stein. What do these others need to see before they realize Reagan's deregulation is a disaster. What a great idea, let the corporations keep policing themselves, and all but about one% of us will soon be broke.
Agreed. If you watch any of the "Peter Schiff Was Right" videos in which Ben and him are arguing, Ben was saying back in '07 or so that the market was stable and we were not going to face a recession in the near upcoming years. He was wrong then and he's wrong now. He hasn't learned a thing. Pathetic.
Ben Stein is completely wrong when it comes to a bailout of the big auto makers. I've yet to hear him explain how it is fair to take tax money out of the pockets of Nissan and Honda workers making about $ 45.00 an hour in wages and benefits to benefit GM and Chrysler workers making $ 70.00 an hour. We have Chapter 11 recourse in this country for a reason. It is to allow businesses to restructure, which is exactly what these tin cup holders need to do.
You are mistaken in your figures. When you add in the money that the foreign manufacturers pay for health care coverage for the American workers, paid for through their NATIONALIZED HEALTH CARE, American and foreign workers' wages reach parity. You are comparing apples and avocados.
I wasn't aware that Nissan for instance, paid AMERICAN WORKERS with funds from the Japanese government. My understanding is that they offer a high deductible plan (about $ 1,100.00 per year) per current individual worker. Retirees receive no coverage, only a $ 2,500.00 per year stipend to supplement Medicare.
Then why are Japanese car companies doing okay and the Big 3 are losing more and more money year after year? I think the answer is that the Big 3 have labor costs that are too high, their management are horribly overpaid, and they have a terrible business model. Those three things (put together) make for companies that cannot sustain themselves.
I do not live in the US; but I can give you the answer on why Chrysler GM and Ford are not doing well as compared to Japanese. The answer : the American make stupid cars. There is virtually nobody in South East Asia that drive American cars because they suck. They can cut jobs and everything, but until they make better cars, they would go down.
A year ago Cavuto told Chong that Bush was responsible for the best economy. Cavuto what happened in one year? Cavuto doesn't know shit or maybe he only knows shit.
Cavuto vs Stein. Yeesh. I hate them both.

We all are created with free will and you simply do not want to accept that we are all made responsible for our actions. Grow up.
LifeLibertyLove 2 years ago
free will?

Fox news is a disgrace. Cavuto is an absolute fuckwit and whoever that black guy was, he had no place being interviewed as a pundit, nor the moron with the moustache.
What is wrong with getting people on who understand what they are talking about? And why does the host feel the need to shout? It's like Bill O'Reilly - I'm wrong and I can't back up my position, so instead I'll just shout over you and say I'm right. What a prick.

Fox news is a joke.
xanthousparadigm 2 years ago 6
It's beyond a joke, it's destructive. Faux News have been misrepresenting facts, distorting the truth and misleading the public for years. From what i've seen, it's presented by a bunch of poorly educated conservative, patriotic, religious nutjobs, attempting to enforce their ideas, silence critics - O'Reilly "shut up" "I'm gonna cut you off," etc and misinform the American people.
Laurence000001 2 years ago 5
@xanthousparadigm: ya, I wouldn't trust these idiots as far as could throw them. Peter Schiff proved that.
mediblue9 1 year ago
Right on Ben. My job along with many others was saved because of the stimulus package. Neil Cavuto gets paid plenty for yelling. He doesnt give a crap if he is wrong - he just wants to be on youtube.
superdestroyer2011 2 years ago 3
Stein made a fool of himself in August 18, 2007, when he repudiated Peter Schiff on the financial crisis that was yet to come. They all laughed at Peter then. Ben Stein may see things differently today, after having been fired by the NYT for criticising Obama.

WOW,I agree with Stein. What do these others need to see before they realize Reagan's deregulation is a disaster. What a great idea, let the corporations keep policing themselves, and all but about one% of us will soon be broke.
VanGoghsEar1890 2 years ago
Here we are, 8 months later, and...approximately....the current best guess would be that Cavuto was dead wrong, and Stein was right.
Sure, things could still turn to shit...but there are reasonably hopeful signs at the moment.

judoyodan 2 years ago 2
Agreed. If you watch any of the "Peter Schiff Was Right" videos in which Ben and him are arguing, Ben was saying back in '07 or so that the market was stable and we were not going to face a recession in the near upcoming years. He was wrong then and he's wrong now. He hasn't learned a thing. Pathetic.

Not meant to save the stock market? You put in many trillions without thinking let's push up the markets.
And why is Stein and Charles Payne on TV now?
Stein said that this would be a $30b issue and fought with Peter Schiff about what would happen 18 months ago.
Charles Payne has no clue and argued with Schiff saying buy Bear Sterns and housing prices would skyrocket.
Paetaor 3 years ago
Ben Stein is completely wrong when it comes to a bailout of the big auto makers. I've yet to hear him explain how it is fair to take tax money out of the pockets of Nissan and Honda workers making about $ 45.00 an hour in wages and benefits to benefit GM and Chrysler workers making $ 70.00 an hour. We have Chapter 11 recourse in this country for a reason. It is to allow businesses to restructure, which is exactly what these tin cup holders need to do.
Reggie1971 3 years ago
You are mistaken in your figures. When you add in the money that the foreign manufacturers pay for health care coverage for the American workers, paid for through their NATIONALIZED HEALTH CARE, American and foreign workers' wages reach parity. You are comparing apples and avocados.
BelvasDaughter 3 years ago
I wasn't aware that Nissan for instance, paid AMERICAN WORKERS with funds from the Japanese government. My understanding is that they offer a high deductible plan (about $ 1,100.00 per year) per current individual worker. Retirees receive no coverage, only a $ 2,500.00 per year stipend to supplement Medicare.
Reggie1971 3 years ago
Then why are Japanese car companies doing okay and the Big 3 are losing more and more money year after year? I think the answer is that the Big 3 have labor costs that are too high, their management are horribly overpaid, and they have a terrible business model. Those three things (put together) make for companies that cannot sustain themselves.
thinkingrationally 3 years ago
I do not live in the US; but I can give you the answer on why Chrysler GM and Ford are not doing well as compared to Japanese. The answer : the American make stupid cars. There is virtually nobody in South East Asia that drive American cars because they suck. They can cut jobs and everything, but until they make better cars, they would go down.
PreetSG 2 years ago 6
American auto workers do not make $70 an hour.
What this is when one accounts for health and retirement from past workers, the cost for current and past workers amounts to $70 an hour.
