  • Even though I didn't get to see Walter play I still look up to him as my biggest role model. My only dream is to go to college, play football and one day make it big and run like Walter. I know I'll never be exactly like him but I have the heart and will like he did on every down.

  • this is wat i like to see...im tired of running backs these days dancing around the field only to get no yardage payton lowered that shoulder and still stayed up...god wat an athlete he was

  • Like if this video brings tears to your eyes

  • no one comes close to his talent, not even barry sanders

  • Awesome Vid m8. I miss the gritty nfl era when men got praise for being beastly on the field and not for their offfield antics and reality shows *sigh*

  • @ImJohsh Goo Goo Dolls. They were famous for their music in Nick Cage and Meg Ryan for City of Angels.

  • Greatest EVER.

  • It was beautiful seeing him running like that it seems only yesterday he was with us. I know football as we know it would be so very different if Payton survived. If he was playing today and in the games where they are so close or were losing...Payton would have stepped up and created a win. That's the kind of player he was an inspired man who loved the game as much as Papa Bear...He was Jr. Bear all grown up!

  • Sssweetnesss was poetry in motion. He is by far...the best there is, the best there was and the best there EVER WILL BE!!! All I have to say is...Run Sssweetnesss Run...no one does it better! R.I.P. Sweet

  • can somebody please tell me his pregame/halftime chant? you know where the team puts their hands on their helmets then their thighs or something like that

  • We will all need pain killers sometime in our lives for something right? He just so happened to get hooked on them, and that caused some depression , that is not enough of a reason to smear his good name in that book by Pearlman. Walter was human, and the many times in my life I met him, he was all class, all the time. He will always be remembered as the greatest Bear of all time, and to me. the GREATEST IN NFL HISTORY. R.I.P SWEETNESS, NO MORE PAIN!!!!!!!!!! Shame on you Pearlman, ASS HOLE!

  • Cheesehead here with a Walter Payton jersey. Nobody puts down sweetness.

  • the real beast mode

  • Walter might have taken pain killers after his career was over, but so what? He took a beating on the field and never backed down from a soul! Jeff Pearlman should be ashamed of himself!

  • Walter payton did drugs? complete bullshit. I love the the book says he did painkillers after he retired, yeah he was in pain still after he retired, but dont you think he would be in more pain while he played? so shouldn't he be taking painkillers during his career? Anyways i completely dont believe anything that book says. Walter Payton was so great off the field, im pretty sure he wouldnt of tried to be acting good for us,

  • why can't NFL backs today run like payton. When was the last time you saw some go over the line to score a TD?

  • @iluvminivans type walter payton right now onto google and look what happens. read it

  • A tear comes to my eye every time I watch this video. Just like Jarett said, not only was he the greatest to ever play the game, but he was a hero to millions of people.

    R.I.P. Walter Payton, Chicago's "Sweetness."

  • Walter Payton was not only a great telent he was a class act too!

  • who are the five assholes that didn't like this vid?

  • a new battle has taken place in the southern hemisphere "RWC 2011"

  • Thumbs up if you bought KangaRoo shoes because Walter Payton had them!!!!!

  • I find football boring but damn that nigga wouldn't come down

  • Oh My God Payton Had footwork like he was dancing on the football field.

  • I was fortunate enough to meet Walter Payton and to this date it is one of the most memorable experiences of my life. He not only set the bar as a football player but as a human being. No one ever played each down with more passion. By far, the best to ever play the game.

  • 1:30 - Move bitch

  • Leader

  • WALTER PAYTON, there will NEVER BE ANOTHER!!!!! REST IN PEACE!

  • how did he die?

  • EIGHT SCREENS ON AND IM WATCHIN WALTER PAYTON

  • @smokingONsumDRO Okay...?

  • i did a speech in my communication a week ago. we had to do it one someone that influence us or we admire. my 3 minute speech was about how much of a great human being and athlete Walter Payton was and what he meant to me. the room gave me and standing ovation. that how powerful Walters life story can be

  • Barry Sanders is better period. You bears fans need to get off the prozac.

  • @Ballsdeep21379

    not even close...

walter could block ,catch and even PASS.....

  • @Ballsdeep21379 Sanders was great, but as someone once said to me,"Sanders ran around lines, Payton not only ran through lines but danced through lines too!". He was not only a athlete but an artist as well!l

  • @Ballsdeep21379 Maybe you should show some class sir.

  • Walter Payton is one of the BEST players in the Bears! R.I.P. Walter Payton. You will be missed. :(

Also 5 dislikers are haters of Walter Payton. >:(

  • THE BEST

  • Walter Payton is my idol. I love him on and off the field. we miss you sweetness

  • THE BEST IS JIM BROWN

  • @zepballer why would you say something like that on a walter payton tribute video?

  • @zepballer you also forget how great jim browns offensive line was. he could get to full speed before anyone could touch him every play... walter had to dodge, miss, spin, and truck three or five guys per play just to reach the line of scrimmage. walter played in a time where everyone was faster, bigger, smarter, and they all knew that walter was the only weapon they had. jim played when defenses were much much slower and stupid. he said himself that walter was the best ever.

  • Payton hightlights have more energy and desire than any other highlights out there. This man ran with heart! The rI hate the bears-but i love payton-the run at 1 50 is the best goaline run i have ever seen.

    a packer fan

  • I remember what I was doing and where I was the minute my ex-wife told me sweetness had died...tears in my eyes and all. I don't care if you were a packers fans or any fan of any division...you respected him...you don't have to say it...but us BEARS fans know you did.

  • he was a great player as well as a person i would have loved to meet him

  • Love It

  • How do you dislike this??????

  • The BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love what he did as an athlete. I love what he did for the Bears. I love what he did for the game. I love what he did as a man. He was the epitome of class in all aspects of his life. I will always love Walter Payton.

  • The 5 people who disliked doesn't have Sweetness

  • @34sweetnessNFL Or are either family members of the guys @ 0:32 0:46 1:30 and 1:32

  • @34sweetnessNFL Sorry forgot the guy @ 1:50

  • what a lion !

  • @bigbrobigbro NO.......... he was a BEAR !!!

  • Yea he was a Bear.

  • some people think it's just a game- years ago i was at work when i heard he had passed - it stuck with me all day. he is one of the reasons why still jump out of my set and run around the house celebrateing a great play. thanks walter-memories live on

  • whoever disliked this has no soul

  • This is my favorite sports highlight video. The clips and music were fantastic.

Walter Payton, in my opinion, is the greatest running back of all-time. He was just simply amazing in every aspect of the game.

    RIP, brother.

  • miss you walter all the chicago bears fans miss you including me

  • He is one of the many reasons why I call myself a Bears Fan in the middle of Wisconsin.

  • thumbs up if you already are number 34

  • thumbs up if you already are number 35

  • good song, teared me up. what a shame. he was too young

  • @ jpmacaluso

    Agreed...no just one, but 3 !

  • i met walter and got pictures of him signing a 10,000 yard rushing card that i still have in hard plastic. cool

  • to the 5 people that gave this vid a thumbs down, eat a dick!

  • @jpmacaluso packer fans

  • I think he got hit more times by his own teamates then actual defenders lol

  • Vikings fan here paying my respect to Sweetness. The dude had incredible heart. Most players today couldn't carry this man's shoes.

  • Just remember that, he didn't just run... he went into contact... run stopping contact.... SO many times, if there was a stat for that, which there should be, no one would ever beat the Sweetness.

  • He didn't just run. He passed too. He even punted a few times. Greatest ever to play the game of football. Period.

  • thumbs up if your gonna be number 34 for football next year

  • best ever...R.I.P sweetness

  • No one will be betters and him

  • He is the best

  • LOVE IT!!!

    THE PERFECT SOUNDTRACK AND EDITING!!!

Especially the part of the verse "I saw the world spin beneath you" as Walter does the spin move against the defender.

    Totally awesome!!!

  • @REDKNYT I agree

  • man walter im a good runner but you are undescribable just a miricle rack

  • I'm a cowboy fan but i respect Walter payton, such a great man, we miss you for who you were, but at the same time we don't, because you are in GOD's side

  • It was a blessing to get to watch Walter Payton play each week. Every Sunday was like a Holiday when you got to watch Walter Payton play. Your whole week revolved around watching Payton and the Bears. He was unique among players of his time or any other time. Simply the greatest running back I have ever watch play.

  • This guy refused to be tackled...like regularly, he would get hit or wrapped up even, and refuse to let the other team to take him down, that's bananas!...Barry Sanders would make you miss Walter went through cats, ON A REGULAR BASIS, of coarse he got tackled and plenty, but the force of will this cat had, is unique to him.

  • The best all-purpose, most versatile, complete football player in the history of the NFL, bar none; was capable of playing any position on the field, and damn near did.

  • i'd like to share this video wtf

  • the greatest, hands down!! extraordinary on and off the field. R.I.P. Walter...we miss you and we love you.

  • R.I.P. Walter "sweetness" Payton.

  • Passed away eleven years ago yesterday. Miss you Wally. R.I.P.

  • Such a class act guy. You see how hard he worked and how humble he was. It was great watching him when I was growing up. Hell of a player.

  • best stinkin running back in football

    rip

  • @tigersweloveu one in a trillion*

  • Such a class act and one of the greatest ball players in the history of this game, how is it that such a legend falls to a rare kidney diesese? REST IN PEACE WALTER PAYTON

  • one of the graetest videos about walter payton ive ever seen !

    RIP walter

  • #1 running back of all time

To bad he never got a touchdown in a Superbowl

  • @Ike62568

Yeah, Ditka should have let him have it at the goal line instead of bringing the freakin Fridge on the field. I thought that was cruel.

Ditka said many years later that that was one of his biggest regrets in football.

  • #1 running back of all time

  • i have your card! and it is my most prized posession. i love you payton!!! GO BEARS!!!!!

  • Best ever Sweetness!!! Nice compilation...

  • That was an awesome video man. Thanks for posting

  • We saw Dr.J then Bird and Magic, then Jordan and so on.

Walter Payton, there will never be, and so on.

My God how privileged we were to witness such grace, power, stamina, and dedication. Walter Payton, the greatest of the greats.

  • There will never be another Sweetness

  • greatest running back ever....

  • walter payton had a passion for playing football and had a will to win and if we had some people in this football league today like walter it would very differant than what it is now

  • Walter was one of my favorites growing up as a kid

I was always Walter Payton when playing football in the backyard lol

Great player and had a lot of class

  • Everytime i watch this, i get choked up, R.I.P. Sweetness!

  • SWEETNESS

  • I remember when I was a kid tuning in to watch the Bears play with my Dad just to watch Payton play. We always wound up just shaking our heads and chuckling at how great he was. The league misses you Sweetness! RIP.

  • Sweetness is the reason the Bears are my team. We need more players like him today. RIP Walter Payton.

  • gave me shivers man i miss him RIP

  • i cried.

  • Forget about him not scoring in the SB, Sweetness is & always will be the GREATEST RUNNING BACK IN NFL HISTORY.

  • the best ever

  • still haunts the echo's of soldier field!!! one of a kind!! Sweetness

  • the song goes so good with this video. black balloon by the goo goo dolls

Walter Payton A Badass running back. RIP

  • Ditka screwed him out of a super bowl TD. No way the fridge gets a TD in the 85 SB and not Payton. That is a travesty.

  • @truckduck13, I hear that all the time, but I always have to ask, did you watch the game? The Patriots did an excellent job of limiting Payton by focussing much of their defensive efforts on him. It allowed us to score in many other ways but Payton, by his standards, was limited. He had several runs within the five yard line but never got more than two yards and even had a couple runs for a loss. So they gave one chance to the Fridge, and he put in. What's the big deal with that?

  • He was the best.

  • whoever those 5 people hit that dislike button is a colts lovin peice of shit

  • G.O.A.T. i never had the opportunity to watch him in real life since i was born in 1990 so all i have is highlights. even then i consider him a role model and he is the best rb of all time. i miss him and will always remember him when he died. RIP SWEETNESS

  • They dont make em like this anymore boys!

  • @idropbombes, they do, and his name is Adrian Peterson, he's Walter Payton : Part II

  • 85 bears , what a great year to watch the nfl

  • holy shit

  • greatest football player of all time in my humble opinion. we love and miss you walter! you were the best.

  • last time i watched dis it wasnt doin all dat stoppin music

  • hey man the cowboys r cock jugiling thunder cunts.

  • @anykenny12 im happy for you. but as you can see nobody on this video gives a fuck what you think. so thanks for the advice, you can go feel good that you "insulted" someone today

  • im a cowboys fan, but i still think walter payton was the best running back ever. he could make moves and he could sure as hell run your ass over. R.I.P sweetness, still got your orange authentic Jersey hanging up in my room man. We all miss ya

  • no running back will play like him. walter never ran out of bounds. nowadays a defender comes within 2 yds of the ball carrier they will run out of bounds to avoid a big hit. walter laid more hits than he took. a true american hero! R.I.P Sweetness we miss ya everyday

  • @indianstar6829 Why the hell is that, I know I'm not a running back in the NFL but how come you don't see any guys like that anymore these days. Payton was a motherfucking badass he would tear the soles out of his shoes to get better traction.

  • that beginning makes me cry- i love ya walter

  • :'( this teared me up..RIP Sweetness ,,it would have been one of the biggest highlights in my life to have met a great person such as yourself..you are my will to fight and never give up, my inspiration..

  • @lilSweetness34 amen to that brother NEVER DIE EASY!!!

  • The 5 ppl that disliked NEED 2 Fall off a cliff =)

  • With out a doubt best video of him ever

  • Sweetness will always be one of my all time favorite RBs. I dug this out of my favorites and I'm still moved by it,

  • I get chills when I watch this. Payton was tougher than any running back in the history of this game.

  • SWEETNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a class act in a day and age where where athletes beat women, drink & drive, disrepect the game & think only about themselves. Walter you are truly missed both on and off the field.

  • we love you walter, amazing football player, even better person, this video brings tears to my eyes.

  • not only one of the best football players ever, but one of the best people ever. i miss you walter

  • @newcougar13 FUCK YOU !!!

  • BEST 2.05 TIME I HAVE EVER SPENT! THIS VIDIO ALWAYS GETS ME PUMPED UP BEFORE MY FOOTBALL GAMES.

  • and dang walter payton was beast

  • one of the most inspirational videos i have ever seen

  • he was such an amazing player, but an even better person. i don't think there will ever be another athlete like him.

  • @ipimped0uti charles tillman is pretty good and hes a great person also

  • ..wow, this vid almost brought tears to my eyes

  • God bless this man and his family - the greatest.

  • The greatest running back EVER! Totally agree! WE MISS YOU SWEETNESS. Hope you rest in peace. <3

  • the only other player than ran like he did. is earl campbell. they ran over players to gain those extra yards needed. i mean if you have the guts to run over jack tatum and knock ur self and him out of the game. then you are amazing. walter would've done the same thing. Walter Payton will always be better than emmit smith. the record doesnt matter. walter had more skills than a bunch or running backs.

  • very nice tribute good highlights just the audio is mest up im spots

  • at 1:40 did he run into the the fridge

  • @pistolgrip0007 no fridge played on d line. lol

  • 1:40 the moving wall
