@ajittffcure I'm from the Philippines and to read a message like yours warms my heart. We Filipinos really love Tears For Fears. Our country being far from US and Europe surprised Roland and Curt that they have a huge following here. I really hope TFF comes back here for another concert. If they do, you are most welcome to come to join the fun! Not an exagerration but to be actually there will blow your mind.
@avielknot that's good for you because the only language u speak is tagalog and nothing more. u rili can't make 'away' to me because of language barrier. hehehe! besides, the fans here will gang up on you. now, do u understand that?
Wow! This is awesome! What a lovely lively crowd! Amazing! so alive! Who said that Filipinos rarely give a standing ovation to a performer/s? This is obviously a whole-round standing ovation show :-) The crowd was on their feet dancing, jamming, singing and screaming the whole time :-) I guess this is the effect of being suppressed for 25 years :-)
Wow! what a great crowd! great concert ! great singers and great songs :-) Really....love it !

Having grown up in "Little Manila" (Daly City, California(and I'm not Filipino !)), Tears for Fears were probably the most important band for me growing up. Big Chair came out when I was in the 7th and 8th grades and were the first band where I noticed that listening to the lyrics is almost as important to the music itself. I'm glad they are back together and on tour. Thank you for this video !
Damn ! I missed TFF thye're one of my favorite 80's band way back. I have seen DuranDuran nad Depeche Mode but how missed this event of the year. Thanks a lot Odie and to all those who shared their videos of TFF you've done a great job. Long live TFF one of the icons of 80's.
If only I could bring every single person I know (and knew) who loves 80's music and TFF, people who I grew up with, I would've brought them to this concert.
Thanks for posting! This is a great quality video that I can show my friends whenever I tell stories of this concert.
a totally one of a kind concert !! FILIPINO FANS LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.......PUNONG PUNO ANG ARANETA COLISEUM.....NO EMPTY SEATS !!! EVERY SINGLE PERSON WAS CLAPPING AND SINGING ALONG !!! WOW, GALING !!! CONCERT OF THE YEAR!!! THANK YOU TEARS FOR FEARS, ROLAND ORZABAL AND CURT SMITH !!! A GREAT & TERRIFIC CONCERT THAT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN BY THE FILIPINOS.
@akoitowalangmagawa29 tamaaaaaaaah ka jan kapatid....isa din aq sa nkasaksi ng da BEST concert na yan....haneeeeeep sa ganda at galing...sulit ang bayad....
i watched there concert. Super galing talaga. Hindi na namin madinig boses nila kasi every songs sinasabayan ng audience. Grabe! Hope they have a repeatt performance. I'll watch it again. TFF forever!
thansk 4 sharing ur video odie. intro pa lng, u'll have goosebumps na e..the emotions were very high...i remember how my sisters and i would wait in front of the tv to wait for their MTVs in the 80s. they were one of the best good-looking bands then. and of course, their music is simply GREAT!!!!!!!!
D*mn! I didn't know they had a concert here! I would have so gone there in an instant since I can now afford it compared to when I was in high school! :-(
@pexylou:tama ka ,,all the fans of the 80s are the working professionals right now .we want to feel what it is back then ,,we can also pay and watch these great bands,,nagkaroon ng idea ang mga organisers who to bring here ,,,anyway galing talaga ng TFFand the crowd too..
It must be so much fun for them to sing to a huge sold out crowd. How great for them. TFF still Rocks. Not to bad for a couple of 50 year old men. They are still sexy.
You kno why all these 80's bands have the potential for comeback gigs here in the Phils? Because the generation that grew up in the era were working professionals now! They are willing to pay jz to relive their nostalgic era. =) The reason why TFF in Manila was such a tremendous hit!
one awesome night of the lives of people who attended this concert, truly amazing, 20+ years of waiting and the concert went on as if they were artists of today
Me and my wife were there at the Araneta Coliseum. It was a spectacular concert.....It turned out to be a one big party!.....yes vjvdd....awesome night!
Thank you for posting. Their visit was long over due. I'm glad your video is clear. I know lots of 40 something people who missed this, me including, who would appreciate your effort. Good job!
Nice! So much excitement in the air. Makes you want to sing along. Great footage. Thanks for posting. (mas malakas ata kumanta ang Pinoy audience... I don't recall it being this loud at the Sydney gig.. o baka malayo lang masyado silya ko)
Grabe! Sulit pagod namin ni wifey coming from Angeles City. Dami friends ko d2 ask kung may repeat concert pa para maka nood cla next time. Sana next time The Cure and U2 naman. =)
I believe even Ely and Raims were nostalgic with the era's memorable songs of TFF! Calling Ovations Productions..how about bringing here in Manila the other 80's bands i.e. Depeche Mode, The Smiths, PaLe Fountains, etc. That would be a field day holiday. =)
@pexylou Well, about the Smiths, mukhang malabo na. Even the members of the Smiths are throwing lawsuits at each other left and right and clearly expressed no desire to work together again. The Pale Fountains? Well siguro if packaged with 2 more bands that would be great as they have only a handful of hits. Ah the return of Depeche Mode would be a welcome idea! Probably package Lotus Eaters (return to Manila), Pale Fountains and China Crisis! Solb solb yun!
@bpabustan How about The Cure? I'm sure a lot of people would also want to see this. The Smiths--malabo na nga siguro yan. I think mas feasible pa The Cure. U2 would be another one, though sigurado lusot sa roof din tf nila hehe!
@Milliardo5 Yup, The Cure would be a great idea too. Actually last 2008 there were negotiations to get U2 on July, 2008. I'm sure nagkatalo sa TF yun. Madali naman kasi magdala ng foreign acts dito. Logistics are pretty easy basta maayos ang scheduling. TF usually ang problema riyan. But of course I am not counting out other potential problems.
@bpabustan ...Or they could do what they did in Australia and NZ last April--have both TFF and Spandau in one concert. That would be any 80s kid's dream--2 of the biggest 80s bands in one concert. Do you remember the Fra Lippo Lippi concerts? Those were a blast, too. It's just like this. So we've seen at least two very memorable concerts. Hopefully they could bring in more.
@Milliardo5 I was there at the Fra Lippo Lippi concert at the Folk Arts Theater. With KENO as the opening act. I watched the very last day of the extended concert series. I was 15 and my very first pop/rock concert ever! I think kaya ipackage and Spandau Ballet and Tears For Fears here. Siguro naman hindi na ganung kataas ang talent fee nila as they are not current artists na. I was aware of this Package Tour so I was a bit surprised this package was not arranged here.
@Milliardo5 The Cure would be "..just like a dream.." hehe. U2 was definitely in the works two years ago. Although I think that they required a closed stadium, and I dont think we have anything of that sort that would accommodate a huge audience.
@bpabustan Nice analysis there. Try to bring these bands NOW for the GenXers to see, plus get front acts like Eheads (or Pupil/Sandwich/tThe Dawn/Marcus Highway). Itaga mo sa bato, kikita yan! The young kids who grew up in the 80's are all professionals now capable of paying compared when they were jz student way back then. Besides, perhaps the organizers cn now afford the bands TF. Think organizers will rake profits and fans would be equally elated. Tama ka solb solb yun! Everybody happy!
Ang galing ng pasok nila akala ng karamihan nag play lang ng music yun pala start na pala. Mabuti na lang pinost mo ng buo intro nila from Mad World to Everybody Wants To Rule The World saka mas maganda quality ng video mo kaysa sa kuha ko.
sana anjan ako

Wow! I think the best TFF fans are in Philippines. If they ever play a concert over there once again, I wish to be with the crowd.
Absolutely incredible stuff. Roland and Curt didn't need microphones. The crowd was completely into it!
