In the game you enter the command: openserver_browser shown me a list of all the game server on L4D2. I find there is a cool list of your dedicated server. Normally I see him there in online games Lan network even see him. Normally there connect without problems. Just bothers me load the splash screen there is completely different picture than what should be there under normal circumstances.

@hankmanGTA Intersting (blame youtube for not showing video responser on the first page).But try launching the srcds shortcut.Then in order to join your server try this.Go to start type in searchbox cmd,hit enter.Then write ipconfig and hit enter you should see an ip called ipv4 write down that.Go to l4d2 and bring up the console there u type your ipv4:port for example 192.168.1.2:27015 .It should work that way also get a friend and give tell him to join.But you should give him your public ip.

you can also use a .bat file to update. Create a new textdocument and re name that update.bat

this is the bat command to update:

HldsUpdateTool.exe -command update -game left4dead2 -dir "C:\hldserver l4d2" -verify_all -retry

pause has to be in line 2 all alother text in line 1 and change the -dir where you have the HldsUpdateTool.exe

yeah. hlserver file was saved onto computer/c:/programfiles/valve­/hlserver. But it says the system cannot find the path specified. any idea what I'm doing wrong? (and yes, I enter it in the command prompt as you show in the video)

you have probably fixed this problem by now. which I had the same problem.

the problem is the directory name is different it needs to be c:\programfiles\valve\**the name of the hlserver folder*

also you are using backward slashes right.
