  • Fraggle orgy.

  • I loved this show when I was little. When I saw Junior Gorg, I thought about my late uncle who used to say that it looked just like his sister-in-law XD.

  • But I don't wanna love a gorg ;-)

  • The monsters in the garden + the trashlady, thats probably the scariest memories of my life

  • man i love mokey, i wish she was a real girl :I

  • I had nightmares about the gorgs when I was a kid lol..remember that quite distinctly now lol:P

  • e Party.

  • Why did they always have to go through that garden?? It was always so scary!

  • I GOT A FWAGGLE NIGGA!

  • LOOK I CAUGHT A FWAGGLE

  • i can't help but think of Bruce Vilanche for some reason

  • the gorgs scared me a lot

  • I used to catch bugs and say "i got a fraggle" lol...dont worry I would let the bugs go. But it was fun to imagine that bugs were fraggles

  • big rave if you ask me

  • All hyped up on love potion, then breaking out in song 'Classic"

  • during the song you can hear Cotterpin

  • Fraggle Rock Orgy!.............

Ok Im not the only person who thought of it.

  • @stealth313: Well, the Fraggles AREN'T a possessive ("this is mine and no one else's") species, so were the issue of future generations actually discussed, I figure that the F5 would still stick together, which each of them acting as surrogate parents to the newest little Fragglets. Besides, whether it be via egg hatching or just "messing around" in the Messin' Around cave, baby Fraggles--though cute--would be a sensitive issue to bring up, due to the kid audience. XD

  • @stealth313 I certainly didn't, but now i do.Thanks :/

  • lol

  • i hate these fucking trolls, they are so scary

  • @0mgf41lz0rk0 agree

  • Fraggles on extasy...lol

  • "Sugerlips!"

    Lol, thanks Goober.

  • @rebrella You mean Boober.

  • "Sugerlips!"

  • Anyway you gotta love this show, this was on when I was little actually!

I also don't think that nowadays they would allow a show where a love potion works cross species and on the same gender.

The old shows where just cool, less censors then if you ask me. I wouldn't say that they never make a good show anymore, but still... to many churchladies deciding who gets to see what nowadays, and that sucks.

  • Y'know Jr. if you smash him there's not much point in putting him in a cage afterwards. He'd be kind of dead.

  • love the fragles

  • lol x x

  • lol x

  • Lol Junior Gorg gets drunk from the love potion!

  • hey was high!! lol

  • @Brandondorf9999alt what the one with the hat said

  • @sandXdemon Who gobo.

  • @CrazyBrandondorf no goober said sugarlips and it was just such a hilarious thing to hear it was fricken epic

  • SUGARLIPS!!!!!

  • thats funny! i work with someone that looks like a gorg!

  • Nappa: but vegeta, then we'd have to worry about the fraggles!

  • NOBODY BREATHE!!!

  • Fraggle Orgy

  • Fraggle society would collapse if the Doozers got hooked on love potion and stopped working

  • They all need each other to survive, they even need the Gorgs.

  • @muppetspuppets I smell weed..lol..this would be CGI now..this is better Classic.80s forever!!

  • those gorges or what they are called, scared the crap out of me when i was a kid.

  • And, although the Fraggles are known to be an ever-affectionate species no matter the gender, is it odd that Red gets kissed by Gobo on her birthday (Mirror Mirror) and episodes before (Let the Water Run), she kisses him for helping her realize that it is okay to ask for help, even if one is stubborn...

Red ~ I AM NOT STUBBORN!

Gobo ~ *sarcastically* Remember, Red is not stubborn. *Gobo gets something thrown at him*

  • @TherealRNO Maybe Red has a crush on Gobo and Gobo has feeling about Red he need to know.

    You know love!

  • @TherealRNO Sorry for beating a dead horse, but something you said there contradicted something you stated a little while ago when dealing with Treemeadow:

"Besides, in some cultures, it is okay for the same sex to kiss each other in a non-romantic way..."

Maybe that's the explanation for the "Mirror Mirror" and "Let The Water Run" scenarios?

  • Figment: Another notch to add for Gobo/Red is that Red's jealous whenever Gobo prefers another over her (ex: I Want To Be You), as would the scene in Catch the Tail by the Tiger, where Red confronts Gobo about his fear, but is sad when pressure forces Gobo to go. T'was cute to note that Gobo told Wembley to give Red his only prize (the others cared for his usual stuff). Red's crying was both sad & cute simultaneously when Wembley did as Gobo instructed.

  • Jim Henson was a Legend.... just reading everyones comments shows how much this guy and his vision (muppets etc) got through. i reckon that if he was still alive he would be comparible to Disney now... i loved this show so much... this is my opinion..

  • no nightmares... i loved, it a little bit ugly but perfect!

  • junior gorg is the biggest stoner ever. look at his hair, his beard, his dirty shirt, the way he talks, he wears no pants - he is like 29 and still lives with his parents...

  • @Drvol1: No. Though he is in 400,000's, Gorgs age far slower than humans and by comparison, Junior is ONLY six years old.

  • @TherealRNO Actiley Junior is 473 years old and gorgs live a very long time longer then us humans.

  • @collgoff: Yes, but he's still young mentality-wise, because he's a Gorg child.

@FigmentsFan: No. Red and Gobo are of the same species (Fraggles), but Red's a tomboyish girl with princess tendencies at times and Gobo is the hard-headed and level-minded male leader of the little troupe of five called The Fraggle Five (Gobo, Red, Mokey, Boober, and Wembley).

  • @TherealRNO Yes, we've established that. Now what does that explain the "Mirror Mirror" and "Let the Water Run" scenarios? And I also realized that I might have messed up a bit now that I reread the quote, noticing "same sex." I've also seen opposite sex people and characters kiss each other and have no deeper romantic meaning.

  • @FigmentsFan: Yes, people can kiss without romantic meaning, but if you look at the Red/Gobo relationship contextually, there has to be reason for their competition, as well as why Red always singles out Gobo as the cause for her troubles, including bouts of jealousy over the fact that Gobo may prefer Mokey's poems/art or Matt's stories over any of her abilities.

[More to come in next post]

  • Continuing on, we've now established that there needs to be reason for why Red selects Gobo as her target. The answer to it explains why she tried changing herself for his approval, why she always scoffs at Uncle Matt's tales, & why she always challenges his authority. It is because she is seeking his attention (i.e. she wants Gobo to notice her) & the desire to be noticed by the opposite sex in fiction is generally something reserved for romantic couples, no matter how cliche.

  • @TherealRNO And now back to it. You also need to remember in "I Want To Be You" that all of them pay attention to Mokey more than they do Red, so maybe that also plays into the character's self-absorption? Also, remember that Gobo said he would participate in her slide, so maybe she's hurt by the promise break? As for the Matt stories, she finds them boring to begin with, so she acts loathe because she's not interested in hearing them.

    [More in next post]

  • Continuing, your notion of "desire to be noticed by the opposite sex in fiction is generally something reserved for romantic couples" is extremely misplaced. In writing, you always need something to create secondary tension between characters, and because both Gobo and Red have leader characteristics in them [although Gobo's are more refined], it allows for an easy source of tension. The subtext is they both seek leadership and, to Red, Gobo is competition for the position.

  • did anyone else have nightmares of this show as a child?

  • I had nightmares of Junior Gorg until i was 11

  • @Megus17 No I don't think so.

  • Besides, in some cultures, it is okay for the same sex to kiss each other in a non-romantic way, so the same concept exists here, since Henson believed in a unified culture, which is what the Fraggles were created to teach, anyway.

My point is that despite the kiss, they are not gay, so regardless of subtext, it is silly to suggest that they are gay when they are not.

  • I'm giving up on you. You just don't get film analyses and subtext at ALL.

  • Relax, Treemeadow. RNO is just analyzing in a different context than you are. Doesn't mean they're wrong. Like take the debate RNO and I had earlier with Gobo-Red or Gobo-Mokey [which I do want to add something to rebut the "Festival of the Bells" comment: she did those actions because she found he was acting stupidly, acting in contradiction to the festival]. It remains civil while both parties argue counterpoints. Just because what they say is not your view doesn't mean that it's wrong.

  • @FigmentsFan: First off, thanks for the support. Second, whenever Gobo's "acting stupidly", it's Red who winds up questioning him because she cares. In those episodes, it is she who ends up correct (ex: in one episode, Gobo's conformity to rules results in Red being "the brains of the outfit" for a change), just as he ends up correct when she is "acting stupidly" (ex: risking safety for pride in one episode).

  • @TherealRNO Wow, this is an old debate. hehehe. I did go back and I do see what you mean about several things, such as the "Catch a Tail by the Tiger" reference and "The Garden Plot," but I do still say that Gobo-Mokey is a more concrete relationship.

Just one of those things I guess.

  • @FigmentsFan: How would you say that Gobo/Mokey is more concrete? Sure, the two have a shared-interests relationship, but Gobo's adversarial relationship with Red is--IMO--a subtle hint at something, given how it's usually those two who end up in awkward situations after they've been arguing (ex: in both Gobo's School for Explorers & The Treasure of The Fraggles, Gobo & Red wind up stuck alone for a majority of an adventure, bringing them closer together).

  • @TherealRNO I keep bringing up that situation with "Helping Hand," and the episode before that, "The Beast of Blue Rock," where she refers to him [I am paraphrasing this quote] as the bravest Fraggle in the world as she hugs/caresses him. Also, in "The Garden Plot," after Gobo goes to go help Red and Boober in the Gorg's Garden, she refers to him [again paraphrasing] as a great Fraggle as she looks charmed by him.

  • @FigmentsFan: So? Mokey did it for Wembley too when the gang thought Sprocket had ate Gobo in one episode & in the episode shown in the video, it is Mokey who plays matchmaker. Mokey's nature just makes her the caring type, which doesn't transcribe to anything. Even the official bios clearly note the adversarial relationship Red & Gobo have. Honestly, them trying to one-up each other is going to catch up with them, just as the fueding eventually caught up to the pig and frog.

  • @TherealRNO First off, this debate is actually quite fun. lol. Never had somebody really back up points like you. Congratulations, you have my respect.

Secondly, if you are working off the bios from the Henson site, I must note that they seem highly irrelevant, making many assumptions backed by nothing that is actually in the shows. If you are working from the Muppet Wiki, it notes that Mokey [I am lifting this directly] "...has a soft spot for Gobo Fraggle, whom she thinks is very brave."

  • @FigmentsFan: No. I am going straight from the character bios on the Fraggle DVDs (both live-action and animated versions). And I am sure the Hensons know more about the Fraggles moreso than those behind the Muppet wiki, as great as it is. ^-^

  • @TherealRNO Then I really need to take a look at those again. Although I do think that the Henson page on their site is relatively inaccurate, from what I've seen. Oh well.

  • "You take yourself way too seriously."

As a passionate fan, I do that. I stick by what has been established. I mean, I love innovative & new ideas as much as anyone, but at this moment, none of the couples from any "kid's show" are homosexual (superhero comics are another matter), so until such time, it is silly to think any of them are.

  • Adventurous Red--as second in command--not only fueds with Gobo over their positions, but she also flirts with him in a way (i.e. she's jealous and wants others to tell Gobo how she feels, as if she cannot tell him herself). As well, Red always chatises Gobo when he makes a error, something most girlfriends do when their guys screw up & it she who worries about Gobo when he leaves (ex: "Catch The Tail By The Tiger"), if not trying to stop him from doing so (ex: "The Bells of Fraggle Rock").

  • @TherealRNO Oh that's so wonderful!

  • collgoff: Yes it is.

  • where's the episodes in the lighthouse with sprocket the dog (only sprocket could see them)?

  • In 1982, following the success of Sesame Street, an organization of Ministers approached Muppets' creator Jim Henson about the idea of doing a Christian-Themed children's tv show, going so far as to make rudimentary puppets of Christ and St Peter. Henson said he'd consider it, but the idea was ultimately rejected. In 1983 the Henson-produced Fraggle Rock, a show that focused on a group of Demons living in the 1st circle of Hell, debuted. Later that year Henson was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

  • @ErnestAngely Jim Henson created a group of muppets for Sat. Night Live about 1975 or 1976. They were almost like the type you described. There was one character in particular that was "The Great...." I can't remember the name but they had to make a sacrifice to him in which they would throw something down his well and then you'd hear a flushing sound. Then he would grant what they asked. The Fraggles had a similar character.

  • hihihi so dam funny :)

  • "I've got a Fraggel" I love it.

  • mwahahahah Wimbley. <3

  • This was my favourite episode.

  • This was on Disney I think (back when they had descent programs for younger kids) and it was one of my all time favorite shows!

  • 0:26, Lolwut? xD

  • Yup, there was something about those Grogs. I mean maybe not when you're 10 but I used to watch it when I was 2-5.

  • Cmon guys, why the thumbs down? That was my absolutely favorite show but I agree with ElCigaro...there were some times that I would get really scared...remember the Blob or the terrible tunnel??and yes I think it was kinda psychedelic

  • Fraggle orgy

  • oh man, i love this. can u upload some more?

  • at 1.07 ''Im gonna smash you faggot!''

  • he said "fraggle" not "Faggot"

  • So cool! I was watching every episode. Thanks for the upload!

  • that gorg seems really happy at 0:41

  • A.laxeweeedqq.q.w<syy<qe

  • uhhh, a fraggle love orgy... *g*

  • lolololololololololololol

  • I always asked myself if that "Gorg" person would be bigger than a human or maybe somewhat smaller.... AND if he meets a human how will he respond?

  • Gorgs are supposed to be 22 feet tall, believe it or not. Fraggles are about 2 feet tall, and Doozers are 6 inches.

  • @DrDrick: Fraggles are half the height of a small human (2 feet), humans are half the height of Gorgs (5-6 feet), and Gorgs are 22 feet.

  • @DrDrick Nobody really knows but maybe you can ask someone who was in Fraggle rock.

  • Comment removed

  • punkyfsz: Don't be "silly". Red is not a lesbian, so don't claim that she is. In fact, given how she "competes" with Gobo, it seems like Red may harbor a crush on the leader of The Fraggle Five.

siraulo: None of the Muppet characters--Sesame Street, Muppet Show & Muppet Babies, and Fraggle Rock--are homosexual. The closest would be Bunsen & Beaker and Bert & Ernie, but these duos are just good friends and nothing more.

  • Yeah, but from what I've seen, about your Gobo-Red comment, it's really been Gobo-Mokey, hinted at in "Mokey's Funeral" and from what I've come to directly shown in "A New Trash Heap in Town" or whatever the final episode of the 1st season was titled. I understand your argument, but there's been several direct instances of Gobo-Mokey.

  • @FigmentsFan: It doesn't hint at Gobo/Mokey as much as Gobo/Red. Sure, Mokey calls all her friends brave and as she as the artistic den mother of the core five is the eldest and looks after them, even if Gobo is appointed the leader.

  • @TherealRNO: I do then want to bring up specific points from those two episodes. "Helping Hand," they two hold hands as Mokey does that hand gesture where you put your hand over the other person's [I forget what it is] and there's the final sequence where the two flirt a bit. She is also very concerned with how Gobo treats her plan in "Mokey's Funeral" and is especially hurt when he makes fun of her poetry. There's also several other instances where she calls him the bravest Fraggle in the rock.

  • wembly wemby #9

  • Red: am i holding wembley?

    Gobo: you are

    Wembley: .....hi

(Red just drops him on the ground) LMAO

  • is Red a boy or a girl fraggle?

  • Red's a girl

  • is she a lesbian?

  • whimbley rocks....i dont care what no one says...lol

  • wembly is my favorite too

  • those are scary! i scared them when i was little --*

  • awesome...:D

  • I like his frantic yell. "Nobody breathe!"

  • haha thats what drugs will do to you

  • I freaking love boober hes so damn funny!! I loved show so much. I need to get them all on DVD

  • Yeah I love it too, I got 4 season of it on DVD.

  • I loved this show as a kid.

  • i fuchin love this i fukin love yhis i fuckin loves

  • Junior Gorg looks exacly like a friend of mine..

    Only a bit.. furrier.

  • woah. I suggest you buy her a razor then =P ?

  • @creepy critters & muppetspuppets: Why? All Fraggles--male and female--have belly, back, bottom, and tail fur, even if they wear clothes. The only parts not covered by hair of any kind would be their faces, necks, arms, hands, legs, and feet. In a way, given the beak-like mouths they have, Wembley's "house for babies" comment upon guarding the bird egg in one episode, the fact that the Fraggles do have relatives, and the fur covering their bodies, Fraggles are like platapuses, sort of.

  • That Gorg sounds like Bowney Fwank....I mean, Barney Frank.

  • boober: sugarlips! :D

  • yay for teaching that same sex love is valid too!!

  • ah another Jim Henson fan. Thanks for the comment x

  • @Treemeadow: Well, in this instance, they are under the influence of a potion (i.e. they are drunk and thus, not in control of what they're doing).

  • Doesn't matter.

  • @Treemeadow: Yes it does. If they are not control of their actions, then people shouldn't think that stuff they whilst intoxicated is an indicator of how they act in "real life".

  • You're applying real world actions to a film.

Film analyses works very differently. Every action is there to be read, or interpereted. Just like poetry.

Besides, its not like there's anything wrong with homosexuality.

  • @Treemeadow: I never said there was anything wrong with homosexuality, but I doubt Henson meant for the scene to be interpreted that way. In fact, sexual orientation in general wasn't meant to be considered, but we do know which of them are boys and girls, which for many, already decides who should be with whom.

  • I wouldn't be so sure about that. Jim was one to break boundaries, and the gender boundary was probably one of them.

  • @Treemeadow: I doubt it. Inter-species boundaries was expected, but even with that, a male usually wound up with a female. XD

FigmentsFan: I just assume we agree to disagree. ^_^

  • Eh what? I wasn't referring to Jr and Wembley.

  • @Treemeadow: I was saying that despite the inter-species relations of say Kermit & Piggy or Gonzo & Camilla, the pairs are male and female, so that expectation still remains. In other words, not one of the Henson pairs would be gay, despite what people think (this includes Bert & Ernie, Busen & Beaker, and others).

  • Thats because they were made back in the 70s.

and just because none of them had been gay, doesn't mean Henson would never make a gay pair.

  • @TreemeadowL Yeah, but right now, that hasn't happened, so I'd rather you'd not assume that past characters are gay when they've not been established as such. Not that there's anything wrong with being gay, lesbian, or bisexual you understand. I'd just rather stick to the canon, is all.

  • LOL at you. I never even said they were gay. You don't understand film analyses at all.

It doesn't have to be a canon fact for there to be subtext. In fact, the most poignant messages are made in subtext.

"I'd rather you not assume". You take yourself way too seriously.

  • "In fact, the most messages are made in subtext."

LOL at that. Unless it's official, it means diddle-ly squat. Sure, subtle messages are good, especially in shows where romance isn't key, but even in them, the creators clearly direct your attention towards the pairs they want. And in the case of most, the pairings to be picked out are straight, for none of the canon (or likely canon) pairs are homosexual & until homosexuals are given full equal rights, they aren't likely to be as such either.

  • Subtext isn't just about romance.

Subtext is pretty much always intentional.

I too am a passionate Henson fan. I think you get too easily ruffled, in my opinion. The very fact that there were male fraggles kissing Wembley suggests "love for the same sex" even if "under the influence".

Subtext is subtext, and that subtext is obvious. Its good, because they didn't make a big deal of it, which is probably what they intended to do.

  • See, you're problem is you think that I'm suggesting their ALWAYS gay.

No, but they were using it in one scene. The idea was not to make a deal of it, so it looks "in place" and ok.

It doesn't mean they're always gay. Thats the joy of film. Its like a painting, or a play. You can use "episodic examples" without it being added to canon.

  • They were under the influence, so the fact that they kissed is moot. Even in real life, drunk straight people have kissed (or even went further with) those of the same sex, so the same concept applies here. When the potion wore off, the Fraggles stopped what they were doing, going back to their normal lives. Therefore, they are not gay & they weren't intended to be thought of as such, especially since the show was directed at children who don't even establish a sexual identity until age 5.

  • You have no understanding of film analyses. You're trying to apply real-world concepts to film analyses. It doesn't work that way.

  • I guess so. And I have no problem. It's not anything to really debate-debate about. :)

  • Daaaaaamn, i too...*smile*

  • I watched this show as a kid all the time !!!

    I LOVE THIS !

  • The Gorg is sceary:P

  • I love the Gorg!!!!! xD

  • i got a fraggles and i gonna keep him ...

  • LoL stoned Fraggles
