@typeman5 vaseline is a good lubricant, at first... It dissolves the plastic bit by bit, wich is good for braking in your puzzle, but after a while it gets really dirty from all the plastic and it won't turn as well anymore. Then is the time you should clean it all out. If your cube isn't broken in enough yet, re-lube it with vaseline, if it is broken in enough, lube your puzzle with silicone spray

I tried this mod with high hopes, but am sad to say I am extremely disappointed with the results. I cut and sanded perfectly, about a 1 hour job, re-assembled the cube, and tried it out. I find that the cube now feels more sluggish and sloppy than before; but perhaps this will go away with some wearing in. Either way, if you are moderately satisfied with the stock VCube feel, KEEP IT AS IT IS!

The V-cube company added those bumps because they were not making the cubes for speedsolving. Those bumps keep the cube stable I guess...

@RookieN08 Probably not. They have really different structures. You should probably just buy a V-cube 5, or a 5x5x5 East Sheen cube. The Rubiks brand cubes are about the worst you can get.

It is very very important not to cut your self with a razor bec@ause it is so sharp its not like getting a paper cut . The molds make the pieces a certain shape and the bumps were in the mold on purpose. How else could the bumps have got there? The pieces were accidentally flattened on the feet of the corners...?

The bumps were put there on purpose. Not to infringe on the overall quality of the puzzle but it is not flash or a mechanical fault of some sort.
