you obviously studied zep's live performance of the song... "this is a song of hope"... and of course the extended spooky wail at the end, signature plant live outtro. really nice job. wow.
Again, I appreciate all of your comments, good or bad...what you all have to understand, though, is this is a BAR I am playing at, not a concert hall...people come to socialize at a bar more than they come to listen to music, and this appearance was at a friend's open mic, too, so the crowd wasn't there to see me, per se...
I'm not a "copy" band - I just happen to play Zeppelin's music when I perform live, along with other rock classics...and besides, the boys, along with Jason, are only getting together again for a "one night stand" in London. I think the Zeppelin tribute bands deserve a lot of respect, they are helping keep alive their music!
Really good zepman, voice and guitar were really good. U should record this. And shame about the people's voices, maybe u could mix them out in the studio some time.
I was in Chem lab one day, and there was a fire tube demonstration, and they played Stairway to Heaven, and I said to my friend "oh my god, this is the best song ever!" and this kid next to me, who is one year older than me and obviously liked rap went, what song is this? and I was so close to losing it!
good man, you're amazing, your voice is beautiful and you play that guitar awesome!
Amazing job. Your sure did Stairway to Heaven justice. I'm sorry you had to have such a stupid ass audience. You deserved much more respect than what they gave you.
I want to again thank all those who rated and commented on this video...you all ROCK! To answer some questions, that's a Dean 12-string acoustic that I'm playing here, and I use a Boss RC20 Loopstation at the end to get the rhythym part going, then play a lead live over that. Check out, rate, and comment on my other vids here (including Going To California and Thank You by Led Zeppelin)...
are there 12 string electric guitars. thats a really wide fret board. And if it is you rock, 12 strings are hard as shit to play. ROCK ON! hope i get to see one of your gigs in the future.
lol i can really relate to the audience problem. i played this at the school dance about a month ago, and the audience wouldnt shut up. and i ended up getting boo'd right before the solo. apparently the effin rappers in the back couldnt stand 5 minutes of good music ... (not saying my playin was, but the song)
anyway great job, and that sounds really good on a 12 string i loved how jimmy page used one
i cant belive your audience has people shouting across the room to their friends! do they all listen to rap or something? they have no attention span for anything longer than a 2 minute punk song?
Your audience fuking sucks they are all the worst bastards i have ever had to listen to...im sure theyd all have a nice swan song but on the plus side that was the best performance ive seen of stairway to heaven in all my years of hearing other people play his music,im sure led himself would like to her you...to bad though v_v.. that was amazing.
Nice performance, like some of the things you did with the solo there. Although, the original is the best :/ Heh, I'm trying to figure the solo out myself, and play it to my mother on her birthday. It's like her favourite song, so :P
Another sweet job on Zep! Yes, that song is tricky on a 12 with all the picking that goes on in the first few minutes. It's nice to hear ppl singing along with you.
I truly appreciate all of your nice comments! As far as crowd noise, you have to understand that this is simply how it is at bars...it's not like the usual crowd that goes there are going to see a concert - they are there to socialize, and it's just something that I learned early on when starting to play out 2 years ago...hell, some crowds don't even acknowledge that you are there at all, even when you finish a song!
it was an awsome performance.. the one thing i will say tho is, you sung the live vocals from the DVD "The Song Remains the Same" but played the studio version
awesome its just weird with acoustic solo
