This is one of the best missions. One guy gets to be a AC-130, And you usually have to get 11 kills or get REALLY lucky with a care package to get a AC-130 for less then 1 min. Regular and hardened are really easy, sometimes you can get killed on veteran tho..

At 1:35 the AC-130 was at 150,000 AGL. The AC-130 is an awesome aircraft but it can't go 150,000 feet above ground level, even if it did go 150,000 AGL, it has some good optics if it can zoom in that close. Lol

@Radix0mg Sorry this might take forever.. but, You should take a video of you playing this, but the ac-130 gunner CANT shoot, the other person just has to survive for 1 min. Then play it and put a music player like tuntanic on.

The azimuth sweeping angle is the degree the ac 130 is rolling in on .. the angle see you have to lead your shots and take the wind into account so its basically the direction the ac130 is moving towards the enemies

I wonder if a C130 gunship has ever taken out aloft enemy aircraft. I believe they normally operate where air superiority has already been achieved.

Well superiority isn't really the question, all the helicopters are gone! It's just that you don't think anyone with half a brain would KEEP sending helicopters after their first two were decimated by something in the sky; they would bring out the AA guns or missiles instead.

And I think it's a possibility that a Spooky has destroyed an enemy aircraft in flight. AC-130U's have been assigned with enemy interception, so I wouldn't rule that out.

What do you mean the helicopters are GONE? They keep showing up from somewhere within the gunship's sphere of influence, judging by their reaction time.

If an airstrip can send up helos it can probably send up fast-movers that could shoot the C130 down.

And I know that it is a POSSIBILITY. I'm asking about documented encounters.

The presence of the helos is just ridiculous, unless we've got stealth C130's, now, and if you've ever heard one, you'd be quick to doubt that.

The enemy's logic here is extremely questionable. If they have upwards of 5 choppers willing to be sacrificed to a C130, then they would have at least 1 MIG-25 at the VERY least. They'd probably even have something more up to date, like a MIG-29.

And I have heard a C-130, and with FOUR T56-A-15's, it can't go unnoticed. Let's just call the enemy what they are: REALLY DUMB

Well, it's not that they don't know it's there, it's just that the only footage you've seen is when the US controlled 100% of the airspace.

Against Russia, there would be a fight for air superiority. lf this happened in real life and that Spectre didn't have fighter escorts, it would've been blown right out of the sky.

However, as I was reading your comment another thought came into my mind:

If the runner was covered by the C130, then that either means the gunship has been waiting for the runner's plane crash, or was dispatched. The first case is just rediculous, as the C130 has little to no reason for being there; the region has no significant value, from what I can see...

But the second scenario, (which is the only one possible), would have taken quite some time, [NEXT COMMENT BY ME]

Being that sending up a C130 is a fairly time-consuming task, it seems that with the enemy's high level of intel, (remember they sent helos as soon as the runner started), then they would just throw some helicopters at the target BEFORE air support arrived.

Theres no point arguing about whether this mission looks real or not. I mean at thee start of this mission, you already have a few weapons surrounding you, do you think that your aircraft crashes and suddenly guns form a neat circle around you to let you choose which weapon you want? Plus this is just a game...

Well, I wouldn't think so. If they don't hear a 60+ ton assault gunship above them that contains over four times their own engine, they would certainly notice from the wake of destruction it leaves behind.

But even if the helos couldn't hear the C130, wouldn't the ground troopers detect it and radio the chopper pilots to GTFO of there?

And OBVIOUSLY, they all have eyes, so they could visually confirm it, as well!

The main reason they don't notice it is that they're dead before they can tell where the shots are coming from; I haven't heard of ANYONE surviving a 105 shell.
