Dave is a great singer and performer, he is really a big music star. But he needs Matrin's hand to put him at the right place. I can't imagine Depeche Mode without Martin L. Gore or without Dave Gahan. If Depeche Mode were a product, Martin would be the it's content and Dave would be it's label/packing. Both is really necessary.
