I would rather have a RINO any day over the racist, homophobic, angry, frothing, gun-toting, anti-abortion, selfish, dangerous, religious shouting idiots such as the Tea Party, the far Christian right of the Republican establishment, Fox News, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, George Bush, etc. These people are bigots, selfish, bat-shit crazy, liars, arrogant & they are going to destro America. The far-right Conservative & Tea Party movement has to be stopped!
Levin is dead wrong on this one. I am a conservative Republican from Illinois, and a resident of Mark Kirk's district. Mark Kirk need to win the IL Senate race to block the Democrat agenda in the lame duck session. Lindsey Graham is a liberal Republican representing a diehard conservative Republican state, I would add that Graham's record is similar to Strom Thurmond's who he replaced. Mark Kirk will be representing a state that is probably to the left of him. I am voting for Mark Kirk.
@JohnRhysMusician I sadly agree with you... I hate Mark Kirk, he is a terrible conservative, but I'd rather see Kirk than Gianoulias because Kirk will vote for at least 75% of the conservative agenda and vote for conservatives for leadership positions. I really like Christine O'Donnell and I was happy when she won the primary, but now I'm wishing Castle had won because we probably would have a GOP majority, even if a weak one...
@JohnRhysMusician I'm also from Kirk's district and I know Illinois politics as good as anyone, and to be honest I'm not sure we'll ever see a true conservative win a senate race under any circumstances, even in a heavy GOP year. If it comes down to moderate Republican vs. democrat in northern states, I'd rather see Repubics here and then deal with electing true conservatives from conservative states
@Kane88andToews19 I am tempted to say I disagree a bit. I think that a generic conservative can win in Illinois, its tougher, but Senator Fitzgerald, who served before Obama, was a conservative's conservative. However, I think a moderate like Congressman Kirk has the ability to win even in Democratic years, just as he has in our district. 2000, 2004, and 2008 were uphill climbs given the presidential results in our previously GOP leaning district. 2006 was also somewhat a tough year and he won.
