I'm 13 about 5'7 and weigh 113 pounds... Could I ride this bike? I have a CRF150R and I ride CRF230Fs all the time. I was just wondering if its to big for me.
@xXThexWolfxPackXx get the 250x. I'm 13, and ride a crf100f. my dad rides a 230f. we just went out riding the other day, to find his battery was dead. the bike itself is great, but it doesn't have a kickstart, which is extremely assinine. almose everytime we go out riding, we have to charge the battery. If i had the two choices, i would definetly get the 250x. the extra 20cc is nice, and the kickstart is a dealbreaker.

have u tryed a 250r? im 5'4 and ppl said get a 150 but i dont like thoes cuz theyr not as powerfull as i feel they should be, ill grow into a 250 anyway but i dont know if the x or the r is better?
@A11StarFilms same here, im 120 5'4 im also considering a yz250f but theres too many yamahas and the only hondas are my friends cr85 (hes selling) and my other friends crf450r
this is one of the best bikes i haver ever ridden i sold it because i wanted to go faster only does about 65 70 mph power is great 3rd gear wheelies i sold it for a drz400 and i wish i dint t may be faster but lacks power and is very heavy i have also ridden a ktm450 not the best trail bike great for long distance dessert riding thats about t the crf250x is very reliable powerful and its not gonna be hard to get unstuck like a heavyer 450 just don try to drag race it. also very affordable
@TheDanman1317 jesus your a skinny little bastered but ya this would fit you fine but you would have to do some suspention tuning these bikes are definantly set up for a bigger rider like weight wise
ive been starting to look for a bike again and one of these are in my interest but ive been looking online and there super expensive even for used ones
@gweller66 It just requires oil changes and most importantly, air filter stays extremely clean. Your filter is most important for keeping your cams from damage plus they won't have to be checked as often. So oil, filter, then of corse, check your valves after you've ridden it alot. If it's not starting like it used to, you have waited to long to check your valves and you better go get them adjusted before worse happens.
@snoop6604 The X has a stronger stator for lighting, weignted flywheel for the different power roll, lower suspension (a little bit), different cam that produces more low end to mid range torque for the trails, wide ratio gearing to keep from shifting so much where as the R's unweighted flywheel and race cam with close ratio gearing make it scream in the top end since the track needs that piston to slap as fast as it can for the ultimate performance. So X built for trails. R Built for speed.
this bike sounds great, the problem with the x is that they are not suited to motox, my dad has the 08 450x and i have the 08 250r when we swap with in 30 mins it is over heated where as mine continues, its all to do with the engine. the x likes steady uprising of power where as the r likes snappy high torgue and up and down the revs all day.
@tekdekid or lean back and like you said dont let off the gas and keep back tire down and so then you can keep your speed and manitain control of the bike.
hondas the best....but honestly if ur gonna get a 250.... just get a 250r... not a 250x... i got a 250r and i love it!.... most the riding i do is in enduro trials.... and it handles amazing!
@shaneo0306 ok im a beginner to dirt biking (i can ride really smooth on the street and stuff but I havent done much trail riding) I've only ridden my friends dirt bikes tho (Crf150f) im finally looking into buying my own bike, Im 5"8 and 120 pounds (yea im a skinny bastard) Im 16 so im still growing tho I plan on buying the bike in about 3 - 4 months after winter, so my question is, do you think this bike is good for me or would a crf230f be better.
@cbmx1000 Well, you're 1/3 right kid. Though there is a lot more to the difference of a 230 and CRF250 that just 20cc. The compression of a H20 cooled bike is much much higher so with the correct fuel you get much more power than having the low C:R of a air cooled.
Air cooled same cc's ≠ Liquid cooled same cc's
And some country's have sold bikes with neither a kick or E start. But they arent the pansy's we are. Care to guess how they start their bikes?
Why would you say something like that? What kind of pretentious self conscious individual would make a comment like that about some guys out just having some fun and taping it?
@shaneo0306 i'd say honda always made the best 4-strokes and yamaha always made the best 2-strokes. there is just something about yammy 4-strokes that doesn't sound right.
If you're claiming that you have this bike and the video was made ALL by YOU, I call bullshit! This is bike review video done by Motorcycle-USA from way back in 2004 when they test ride the 04 CRF250x. Dont say I bluff either because I've watched it and read their full review when I was in highschool 5 years ago!
hey great vid i agree with muhammed thanks 4 not adding all that heavy music. :D Also what would you say about the bike? As i am looking at getting 1 but are still making up my mind. :D :D :)
great Vid, love all the fast action & fast scene cuts, thnks 4 not adding music over the sound of the engines. I hate all that B.S. heavy-metal drowning out the sounds of high revs and fast shifting.
I just got rid of my 230f for the250X put a toggle switch on the head-light and one in-line to the battery to stop the power insta-Drano when sitting in the shed waiting for its next ride.
you should sell that and get a crf250r for racing your crazy on that bike so that means you would do good at motocross lol you got the guts to do crazy stuff if you can put that into control and skill you could be an awesome racer
definately 250! :D it'll take a while to get used to the weight while you first get used to the cornering, but I'm about 5' 8' and I got a 250 in may. Once you get used to the bike it feels like you're flying !! lol my friend (who's about my height) got an 85 (150 size bike) and he's already grownout of it lol.
it's a bit tricky at first, but considering you're only going to get taller, I'd say 250's the way to go :D
hey man, my dad and i both own these bikes and hav had them for over 3 years now. they are a top end enduro bike with kick. they do require alot of matience very ofter. i do not recomend for somthing u wil ride about once a month. we go to races every weekend so they get alot of use. these prob wouldnt be a good first dirt bike unless u really know what ur doing. Good luck!
my dad wants to give me his cr 250 but no matter how many times i tell him it would kick my ass he keeps suggesting, so i am really pushing my luck to get my dad to get me at least a used 250x. Being a beginner rider but pretty big (6ft 220 pounds) i think i could be able to handle a 250x what do you guys think?
i have a question: i own a yz125 but sick of rebuildin and i just to trails and hit the odd jump but want enough power to rip through trails fast and get decent air, and i like hondas always have. but do you have to check the valves on the 250x just the same as if it were the 250r? cuz i dont wanna be puttin out the money for that.
we own a 250x, good bike, all honda need valve adjustments but you canput steel valves in it (long lasting ) and perform regular maitnenence lyk oil changes and air filter cleaning.
i got a 05 for $3500 the guy never rode it. it runs strong and i had the valves checked at 500 miles and all good! i take good care of it and it takes me wherever. its obvilously used now though b/c all the scrapes from hill climbs and stuff that i never see any other people trying!!! lol its a helluva hill climb bike!
ignition sequence, the X is very very lightly advanced.
where as the R is advanced even more.
it all boils down to what your racing
there both competition bikes, its just what bike suits you better for your riding, there both great bikes, my mate has the 09 250r so thats how i know if your wondering.
what are the cam mappings and the bore x stroke and the ignition sequence, what do they mean? because i was told by a honda mechanic that they have the same engines just different gearing and adjustments
I've been looking at getting a crf250x or 450x. Currently I ride a yz125, and I've out grown the power. My concern is that a 250 4 stroke is very similar power to a 125 2 stroke. But, the 450 may be to heavy to drive aggressively. So Should I go with the 250 or 450?

i wanna get a bigger bike. im about 5"8 and want a 4 stroke. crf150 or crf250??
rljwaj 2 years ago
definately 250!

23519 2 years ago
yea no prob cuz im only 5'10'' 203 and i can handle it perfectly! def a great bike
Glockman2619 2 years ago

i have a question: i own a yz125 but sick of rebuildin and i just to trails and hit the odd jump but want enough power to rip through trails fast and get decent air, and i like hondas always have. but do you have to check the valves on the 250x just the same as if it were the 250r? cuz i dont wanna be puttin out the money for that.
jogro2 2 years ago
we own a 250x, good bike, all honda need valve adjustments but you canput steel valves in it (long lasting ) and perform regular maitnenence lyk oil changes and air filter cleaning.
straightrider150 2 years ago
how much do thos cost?

i got a 05 for $3500 the guy never rode it. it runs strong and i had the valves checked at 500 miles and all good! i take good care of it and it takes me wherever. its obvilously used now though b/c all the scrapes from hill climbs and stuff that i never see any other people trying!!! lol its a helluva hill climb bike!

they have the same engine, just different gearing, jetting, suspension, and of course the lights.
t22rid3r 2 years ago
no, actually the engines are extremely different.
bore x stroke, different.
cam mappings = different
compression ratios = way different
ignition sequence, the X is very very lightly advanced.
where as the R is advanced even more.
it all boils down to what your racing
there both competition bikes, its just what bike suits you better for your riding, there both great bikes, my mate has the 09 250r so thats how i know if your wondering.
shaneo0306 2 years ago
what are the cam mappings and the bore x stroke and the ignition sequence, what do they mean? because i was told by a honda mechanic that they have the same engines just different gearing and adjustments
