Hmm yeah because I dynoed my HR 350z at 269 WHP so seeing 260 WHP on a 370z is totally confusing! that's like 22 % Drive train loss! I mean lol i have'nt heard such high losses in even AWD let alone RWD Zs. Any ways nice dyno and cool stuff
Typical aftermarket mods cost around $100 per hp gained, so this would be like having $1400 in engine upgrades. running a 50/50 mix would allow you to drive for around 10,000 miles before hitting your "break even point" on the cost.
So am I correct in assuming that the ECU is smart enough to add timing when it detects higher octane fuel?
Very cool if so.

Hmm why were you getting 260 WHP with a 370z that's way too much drive drain power loss, is it automatic?

We use a Dyno Dynamics dyno. While it is the best for tuning, it is commonly referred to as the "Heartbreaker" due to the numbers it puts out.

@InjectedPerf These isn't a correction factor that you can use to boost the numbers up a bit? Definitely a heart-breaker though.

Europe 100 octane is 100 RON, 89 MON. In US that would be rated at 94.5 octane using R+M/2 method.
In US, "race gas" usually means 100 R+M/2 octane oygenated unleaded that is 10% ethanol and legal for road use.
It currently runs $7-$8 a gallon depending on which brand and what geographic location you are in.

But what the price on that fuel?
Great to have if a person is going to the track...Or maybe a late night street race.

Will race gas damage any of the fuel system components?
ambientflier 3 years ago
This gas will not damage fuel system components.

Cool. I thought I heard somewhere that racing gas might burn up sensors or something like that, but I guess not.
ambientflier 3 years ago
Leaded race gas will decrease the life of your o2 sensors. This gas is unleaded, so no trouble.

The gasstations in the usa offer only 93 octane?
It suprises me.
In europe we take 98 octane for the VQ35DE, VQ35HR or VQ37VHR-engines. Some gasstation even offer 100 Octane, like Shell or Aral.
Nice car, the new 370Z.

Thanks. This is a difference in how we rate octane. We use R+M/2
