Never saw Mick being so humble. Never knew who the Rev was until today. I've loved this song for years. Great to see the Stones having so much fun. Thanks for this post!
Wow i totally agree witheet your statemants jamxtube. It was vert. Nice to see those great musicians live on stage together making EVERYBODY enyoy oneanother so good !
Wow! Did you catch Mick Jagger's tribute to Soloman Burke at the Grammy's last week? Something to see! His performance was like a man among boys, so to speak. You could see it on the faces of all the "stars" in the audience. To see Soloman crown Mick on stage with his cloak in this video. What an honor for Mick. And I must day, deserved.
I have to give props where props are due...Solomon Burke was one of the best singer writers there will ever be...Eventhoughhe never reached the height of popularity that James Brown and the other greats He was by far one good man....REST IN PEACE SOL...
I absolutely love The Stones and you can see the sort of thing that Mick is trying to do, and doing it brilliantly, but he pales into insignificance beside Solomon Burke's voice and presence.
One of those startling stage moments, pure rock-soul-pop surrealism, the Biggest King of Rock-n-Soul next to the skinniest monkey-man EVER. Hail, hail rocknroll.
