  • I swear, if only I knew just one person I could enjoy this music with. I'm alone.

  • Genre names are dead. This is music.

  • hermosa

  • my favourite song in the world

  • I found this band and cocteau twins loocking for post-punk bands and dream pop and shoegaze are subgeneres of post-punk I love this bands ... Im not completly sure that Im right

  • i feel like i am part of this song...really...like rachel is singing for me...I want people to understand me. i want them listen to shoegaze. Maybe later ill tell them

  • This song is like laying on a secluded grassy hill with a good friend, watching the the clouds and feeling absolutely at peace, except it's all a dream and you haven't done that in years.

  • :)

  • <3

  • this is like the best thing ive ever heard

  • @everuck this is the correct answer

  • decent shoegaze, but I prefer mbv and lovesliescrushing.

  • as in Souvlaki sauce?

  • who the hell disliked this song?

  • timless syle of music, no underrated !

  • @ReadFig It may not be under-rated over seas, but here in the states, at least where i live you won't hear anything but crappy mainstream shit.

  • There's a live version of Machine Gun kicking around on YouTube somewhere, think it was recorded in Norway circa 1992 *audio only*, and Toronto too,, stunning sound live, one of my big regrets not catching them live at the time. What i would do to swap one of my visits to see Radiohead in 1992 (x2) for just one Slowdive....

  • @foxystoat69 the one from Toronto is a rehearsal session, which was actually the last show the band ever played--sadly. The video is called "slowdive pester toronto". The Norway bootleg is from Oct '93 and there's actually two versions of it on youtube. The first is featured in a group of about six songs or so. The second is another bootleg, dunno if it's from the same show/venue, but it's other-worldly. The immense reverb sound they got out of their guitars was breathtaking in my opinion.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I've only just found Slowdive after all these years, how did I go all this time without hearing this?! I'm a new BIG fan, but that's one more fan than there was yesterday. Thank you Slowdive!

  • I love this song

  • still brilliant

  • this is my favorite Slowdive song. actually this was the first song of theirs I ever listened to, and it still has an incredible impact on me. so gorgeous, there's really no other words to describe it. Neil Halstead is a genius in my opinion

  • This song is desolate. I am desolate. I've never been able to get over it. It is unique. It is still cutting edge. It will always be cutting edge. It was before it's time. Nobody has expressed such emotions in similar sound construction. it's pure despair in sound. It has done so much for me. One man's mind. pure abandonment. The cry of a broken heart. A compliment and catharsis to my ongoing mourning. wish I could express myself concerning this song. words are useless...

  • you guys should listen to Whirl, the Distressor EP is dreamy.

  • Sublime.

  • Ive been listening to this song many times since it found me.

  • I love these guys:)

    Music so pretty and dreamy:)

  • beautiful music

  • still gives me goosebumps how close to perfection this song is

  • Best Slowdive song ever! Very representative of what this band achieved. Every time I listen to this song I discover new musical shades... One word: eternal

  • so many emotions...

  • saw machine gun, i saw you down...

  • Wow, great stuff. I wish I could understand the lyrics though.

  • I can't remember the times I have cried listening to this song..but at the same time I feel lonely and strange because I haven't knew anybody who likes shoegaze, most of people listen to rubbish music. I wish this genere were more appreciated.(sorry about my english..)

  • @luraske I hear you bro, I hear you.

  • @luraske

    The scene celebrates itself.

  • HMMMMMMM, soooo dreamy. I wish I could go back in time.

  • Yeah!Slowdive is metal!I always headbang and mosh to this song with my friends!Listen to that double bass drum and those shredding solos!

  • feels like a dream...i love.

  • I miss you, 1993.

  • Son Of Sheba, I Saw Him Drown

Son Of Yellow, I Saw Him Drown

    It's All I Need Yeah!

  • superdupergoody is right

If you like this you'll LOVE M83 AND A BAND CALLED HELIOS

  • @najee190 m83 is WAYYY better than this, get real

  • @bennyhawkins i know thats why i said u'll "Love" M83, i you "Like" Slowdive

p.s. I'm already real so I don't think I have to "get real" thnx tho

  • @bennyhawkins Wow. That's a bold statement. Slowdive is canon - M83 is...derivative.

  • I refuse to admit Shoegaze is dead!

  • @D4MVP amusement parks on fire and the horrors will save us all

  • the horrors isn't shoegaze. Is it?

  • No they're not, they just follow trends.

  • well there old stuff aint the new album is though, primary colours is a great album

  • Yeah I know, I'm not saying they're bad! I think its a great album but sure they kinda focus on what's hot on the scene...

  • @lasfinisimas oh right, fair enough i can see where your coming from : )

  • @D4MVP It's not dead, but I think the people who don't listen to this or don't know about it are a little dead on the inside because they're missing out on some good music.

  • @humpmastajoe16 heh, i like how you said that

  • @D4MVP Who says it's dead? Ever listened to The Radio Dept. ?

  • @D4MVP im gonna bring it back!

  • @D4MVP It's not dead.. You listen to it.

  • @D4MVP There's plenty of shoegaze band active right now.

  • slowdive forever

  • again......

  • This music inspires nostalgia and offers pain relief, so beautiful.

  • it made my day, so nice

  • it's all I need yeah

  • girl looks like lush singer

  • I want slowdive live in my living room....their songs are like wonderful summerdays full of laugh, sun and dreams...

  • Such a beautiful song. Probably my favorite Shoegaze song I've ever heard.

  • If I could listen to any song as I die, this would be it.

  • Is that Dexter Morgan 2nd from left?

  • hahaha top call

  • @cvg1099 yeah good call. Neil and Michael Hall are twins

  • @weezadam Oh and there's Deb Morgan, too. Didn't recognize her the first time. 34th branch on the right above Dexter's head.

  • Esta cancion se pasa...... q viaje tan calidoso.....y sin drogas

  • shoegaze is such an underrated and little known genre!

    I find it so inspiring.

  • are you serious? everyone in indie rock is coping shoegaze these days. M83 basically remade this album, slapped some corny lyrics on it and called it "Saturdays = Youth".

  • Wow, that does not sit well with me. This music is very special to me. I'm going to have to give M83 a listen and see how bad it really is. Blah! :(

  • well i was going to say something antagonistic but id rather persuade you to listen to a few m83 songs instead because they're wonderful and this is coming from someone who loves mbv and ride...honestly you should consider songs like look at me by villeneuve and m83, and skin of the night by m83. and i wont recommend teen angst anymore just because that one sort of grew off me but that was my favorite song of all for about a year at least.

  • @useless987 its making an intense comback though.

  • @useless987 ...sounds like Cocteau twins... I never knew there was a genre tag associated with this kind of music. Thanks for the knowledge! :)

  • @useless987 Im not so sure about that, its pretty trendy these days to be into my bloody valentine etc. these days.. All still awesome though..

  • @ler0y182 not a trend around here... in Italy it's pretty obscure, you can't even find their records in stores..

  • this song is perfect

  • best band in the world

  • Soulvaki is the greatest think to listen to, when you want to sleep.

Not that it's dull lol, but because laying in bed takes the music to another level I think.

  • true nobodybeatsthebeats. i do that most of the time. its a gooood feeling.

  • I used to listen to it every night when lying in bed. It was perfect to fall asleep to. Also good for meditative moments or when you need calm.

  • A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!!!!!!!
