Eastman and Laird DID own them.... recently the kids network Nickelodeon gained ALL rights to the TMNT! im not sure exactly when but its said that they will be making a CGI animated series like the 2007 movie. in the deal the one creator can make up to 18 comics a year IF he so wishes.
It was made by two guys from Massachusetts, so...yeah. It's completely American in origin. This is just the J-dub.

So it's the original 4Kids TMNT (see the credit around 1:15) but when they released it it Japan, they put those great 90 seconds intros and endings that are wayyyyy better than the originals english songs.
People gets confused wondering if it's an anime or not, it's just that 4Kids tried to imitate anime style with more or less sucess.
It was made by a new york man named peter Laird and the company that would eventually become 4 kids picked up liscens to make the show while playmates and hasbro fight over the toys.
I think though that if someone like Tomino did it a darker anime version based off the origional comic would be sweet.
I need help! I find opening in Japanese up to the 3rd and I find the ending of the 4th and the 1st but not other. Mainly it's missing the ending 2 and 3 and the opening 4. If you find them, can you contact me. Thank you in advance.
(Sorry, I'm french, I don't speak english very well)
About the name of the song: It really CAN mean two things, "I've decided to love you" and "I love you, Kimeru", and as you can see in the song, sometimes "kimeru" is in romaji, and sometimes if hiragana. When it's in romaji, it referes to name, and in hiragana to "to decide". If the name of the song is really "恋してキメル!" as you've written, than the name of the song is "I love you, Kimeru", though, of course, it's words-play.
Can't belive Kimeru did a song for Tmnt :O

Sadly, the Japanese dub ended on Battle Nexus.
Guess we won't get to see the Triceraton Invasion or Same as It Never Was in Japanese. =(

Well, 52 episodes is the standard. The fact that it didn't end after 26 certainly surprised me.
What's even worse for Japanese fans is that they're not releasing what's already been dubbed on DVD. Harsh. Even WE got all the seasons eventually.
