I don't agree with vaultingdiva that the original aspect of vaulting is the dance, I see it as a much needed improvement on the old style. :) Which imo consisted more of separate moves put together.
And I do think that that's how you can tell the difference at the very top. The good vaulters performs difficult excercises perfectly, but the very best vaulters performs them perfect in an effortless way, in sync with the music and the horse so that it becomes a dance that is beautiful to watch. :)
Joanne is such a technically correct vaulter. I can find no fault with that routeine except the leo - it's awful.
Bongani kicks ass - this is what men's vaulting is supposed to look like. HARDCORE. (though I don't think a white guy could have pulled off that choreo)
I like the second girl's choreography and expression. hate the leo almost as much as joanne's
ditto what vaultingdiva said on Nicolas - I love it when men can be tender in their routeins and yet still masucline.
@Sanchara he is lol they r so well train wen u untack them u let them go and they go straight to there stable ! it was well worth travel sickness to ride him ! we were on Anton ( i think his name is ? ) the wee baby and he was just as gd ! its quite weird watching vids of a horse thats been 2 weg that u have ridden ? :)
Joanne is truly beautiful and a real sweetheart. Nicolas is without a DOUBT my all time favorite vaulter. Its his consistency. He never falters. He LIVES his freestyles. He exemplifies perfect vaulting. He is supple, tells a story and is soft. So many vaulters are abandoning the original dance aspect in favor of higher scoring gymnastic moves but I think its nicer to the horse and harder to tell a story and be gentle. But what do I know I'm all washed up and old. haha. :) thanks for posting!
yeahh Bongani. When you fall off in a stand...just make it into an effortless clean downup back to stand again. haha that was a great save.
