Maybe try putting their cages right next to eachother, so they have eachother's company, but don't have the ability to fight with the cage between them. ;) Hope this helps!

@briannaprincess007 When rats swim, they curl there ears back to prevent water from getting into their ears. This is a natural thing for them. Whereas people who bath/force water onto rats, sometimes the rats don't curl their ears over as they don't expect it, hence why water goes in the ear and they end up with infections etc. People who own rats know this, you clearly don't know much apart from they look cute. Now hold your head in shame as you have dramatically failed at acting big...

@kmdeacey93 I just started off with a little bowl with a few pieces of peas and sweetcorn and a bit of water, and day by day i would have the water higher. And one day i just got a big bowl and filled it up about an inch, and they just climbed in there, so i went to a bigger container and put a ladder in there, so they could paddle and walk around it in, and just gradually added more water. They Milly started swimming :-) Molly wasn't that keen, she just used to dunk her head in and get them lol

@kmdeacey93 if you want to bath your rat to clean him and he doesnt like water simple use a damp towel and just sponge him. my girls hate water as well so i have to use a towel, but using the tiny water bowl and putting regular frozen peas in it helped to get my little boy to love the water

@djhfr34k They naturally know how to swim, but most of them are still scared of water. Out of all the rats I have had there were only two who naturally liked to swim from the beginning. The others were either terrified or had to slowly get used to the idea of swimming.
