  • I truly do not understand how anyone can dislike this Ron Paul video or really any other of his videos. He speaks real common sense and absolutely ZERO bullshit. I feel it's peoples pride and ego that keeps them from actually listening. Happened to me in 2008 and am ashamed of it.

    Dr. Ron Paul in 2012!!

  • Ron Paul is awesome, but his words are so far removed from the crap you hear on the media, i can´t imagine him ever being president. He´s so truthfull its almost unamerican

  • Ron Paul needs to be the president!! he's the only one qualified

  • Encourage homeschooling?? Thats horrible to do to a kid. Anyone that gets homeschooled ends up being a nutjob without social skills.

  • Captain Beefheart.

  • read dumbing us down by john gatto. it might just change your mind. the education in america is absolutely horrible... and not to mention expensive. the "education" in america is not an education, but rather a schooling. learning random crap and then tested on it once at the end of the year is not helping anyone. parents do a much better job because they know the child's strengths. i could go on but i'm running out of characters. anyway how many homeschooled children do you actually know?

  • I know a couple of home schooled children, well, I know who they are. They dont really talk to anyone because they never really learned those basic social skills. School teaches us a lot more than just what is taught from the books. Not too mention even those most parents may have the right intentions, they are not equipped to teach their kids.

  • yeah it teaches us how to act with kids our own age. only our own age. homeschooling is on the rise because of the failure of our education. not to say its the only answer. school would be much much better if it were more of a free market operation, like a voucher system. that way the parents could pick a school they think is right, even if they don't have the money to go to a private school. ah, once again im running out of characters... three. 2 great kids, one weird one.

  • It teaches us also how to act with the older kids as well as the other adults like the teachers and administration. Our education system can be a great tool if utilized, the problem is that the kids that aren't taking advantage of these opportunities are the kids that have parents that don't care about their education. Home schooling would just let so many kids slip through the cracks as well as having kids taught by parents that aren't qualified. Homeschooling produces strange people.

  • Thats true, they don't learn how to interact with other people or children besides their immediate family. This usually causes so many problems later down the road. A girl down the street was homeschooled and now because of it she has horrible social anxiety because she never learned the basic social skills we take for granted.

  • there's hardly if any interaction with older kids until high school... and i'm not saying we should all be homeschooled.. but parents certainly can if they want too.. and yeah that's the downside to it, but the hope is the parents will get the kids involved with other things (rec sports, youth group, etc). not ALL parents are qualified but that doesnt necissarily mean none are or that we should be shoved into a school we don't want to go too. and homeschooling doesnt always produce strange kids

  • What? You immediately interact with older kids, I doubt there are many schools with a 1st grade that doesnt have a 2nd.

Most parents are unqualified, not to mention that the environment that large schools provide expose kids to the real world. Having a child cooped up in a house with mommy or daddy all day is just odd and in most cases not healthy. Home schooling should only be for certain kids that cant handle normal schools.

  • yeah but they're trapped in a classroom all day (unless the school decides to allow recess, which many are trying to eliminate) with kids of their own age.. they hardly ever get to actually interact with the older kids... and the education is mediocre unless you happen to live in a good district..

but yeah, its not the best option for many because for one the parents cant be there all the time or take them out to other places (like i mentioned sports etc) i'm running out of characters again

  • there are homeschool organizations where the kids go to interact with other kids but once again.. im not saying its the only option for better education, im just saying in the system we have now, the parents and the children have no choice in what they learn/are taught unless they can afford private school or homeschool.. ron paul wasnt suggesting we all homeschool, he was suggesting we take the government monopoly out of education (maybe a voucher system, taxes pay for the school you choose).

  • They are not trapped in a classroom all day, there are tech ed class, phys ed and recess that is required by law and in no way are they even trying to get rid of those (if anything, they want more of it). Then the school clubs and sports programs allow them to interact with older kids which are more available to kids in schools. Its not healthy for a kid to be only interacting with their parents everyday, they wont develop necessary social skills.

  • well maybe two years ago, where i live anyways, there was a huge push to limit recess and try to eliminate music class.. recess isnt required by law here. and there arent any school sponsored sports or clubs for elementary school here and for middle school there's only basketball. even at lunch the kids are put in alphabetical order by grade. and the kids are still kept with their classmates in all of the extra classes- PE, music, and art (im talking about grades k-8)..

  • Thats still better than being in class with just your mother/father all day long.

  • if that's what you believe then send your kids to school, nobodys saying you have to or should. i still like the idea of a free market school system (tax backed voucher system), which was another thing ron paul supported.. but anyways this conversation's really going nowhere and starting to get rather old

  • Anyways, its all irrelevant since Ron Paul never had a shot at being elected...

  • true, very true

  • RON PAUL IS THE ONLY CHOICE FOR US.

  • Go Ron, give em the truth..!!

  • i would Vote for this guy.if i was in america.

  • I am Canadian, and honestly, I am thinking to give him about 100$ donation. I am not rich, I am a student, but you know, this guy really deserves it. I just hate the way the U.S. is now. I used to love going to the states to travel, now, I just despise it. It is pathetic and sad. You need a Ron Paul, we all do.

  • you are absolutly right, we have idiots running this country

  • Ron Paul mopped the floor with the other candidates in this debate, especially regarding finances & the economy. Vote ROn Paul!

  • From Northern Ireland...VOTE RON PAUL

  • lol ... keep throwing :) They will just do more marches and donate more money.

I thought I owed it to you and me and them to do a little research ... turns out that the republican party was founded on the principals of small government and non-intervention - he sounds Republican to me.

  • I'm from Australia and it looks like the Ron Paul campaign is doing pretty well ... why are you egging them on rascal95113, they will only redouble their efforts ... they aren't gonna lie down take what you are throwing at them.

  • It's 9:58 Central time and he's raised almost 6 million today.

  • Unfortunately, your facts are wrong.

One does not get the name "DR. NO" by being an appeaser and non-interventionist is not isolationist...

If we're crazy for supporting Paul, then I don't want to be what you consider sane.

  • that is NOT a fact! RP himself says he is no isolationist! what are you afraid of rascal95113? are you a neocon? I am no loon, i am an educated, aware citizen and totally support RON PAUL. Freedom, truth. RP 08

  • My GOD I love this man! He actually got to get into some economics this time around, which is where he really blows the rest of the competition to bits.

  • I don't care how I have voted in the past and what I used to think. This man's ideas have changed everything for me...he's the only one whose ideas make sense. I love Dr. Paul!

  • i feel Ron Paul did great yesterday.

We must vote for a person of high intelligence and integrity with a proven track record. That is Ron Paul

    DEC 16TH TEAPARTY07DOTCOM CYA THERE!

    (Pass this on!!! )

  • The real question is how are the politicians going to adjust their plans to conform with reality.

  • It is the right of parents to control the education of their children. In history it has been dictators like Hitler and Stalin who want control what a child learns.

  • Ron Paul doesnt cut taxes he breaks them with his bare hands

  • Outstanding responses once again!! Ron Paul rocks.

  • lol anyone else notice that Ron Paul brought up 9/11 before Rudy Guliani? Haha Rudy got jealous and quickly brought it up like ten minutes later. "Damn he beat me to it"

  • amazing video!

  • Thank you so much for posting this right away!!! RON PAUL 2008

  • People need to make sure the are registered to vote in the Republican party in their state by the deadline to vote for Ron Paul in the Primary. Spread the word. Most of the deadlines are up, unless your're a first time voter in your state. That means first time voters please register quick. It could make a huge impact.

  • The difference between Ron Paul and the rest of these candidates is that they are politicians and Ron Paul is a public servant.

  • thanks man!

you had this video up quick style.

  • I think this was Ron Paul's best debate. He was very rapid and articulate. His posture was much better. His cadence was much more controlled. There were shimmers of that elusive aura of 'presidential' and I think it's because Ron Paul now believes in not just the message which has carried him so far, but also himself to take message as far as it can go.

  • That's because Ron Knows who the people are behind. He's the spark, we are the fire.

  • totally agree with you, I THINK RON PAUL IS STARTING TO BELIEVE IN THE REVOLUTION as well, he's getting better and so are we

  • I don't like the government messing in everyone's affairs, but we need to illegalise ANY form of education which doesn't teach credible information, and, having looked through private school textbooks, we might as well be shipping those kids to afganistan; at least then they could get their extremist dribble at a lower price! Federal education may not be ideal, but private education is not accountable, and it's abusing that power by telling YOUR children that jesus made america to kill satan.

  • Isn't the point of freedom of speech that you have the right to say what you want, even if the government disagrees with it?

  • This isn't about disagreement, it's about indoctrination. Children who attend private schools of a certain kind aren't allowed the priveledge of understanding basic scientific facts simply because their parents believe they shouldn't. Freedom does NOT require religion, but it does require education, and religious institutions have abused their power in order to limit children's cognitive freedom.

  • It is exactly because a variety of information is fundamental for a free society that government MUST be kept out of the education system. By giving the government the right to choose the syllabus, you are giving them a monopoly on information. Yes, some private schools will abuse this... But that is less of a threat then the government abusing it! Freedom of speech means that you have the right to say what you want, even if I disagree with it. Government controlled education takes that away.

  • I'd say this about public education...lol...

  • It is the right of parents to control the education of their children. In history it has been dictators like Hitler and Stalin who want control what a child learns.

  • Access to information is fundamental for free society, and private schools, due to their lack of accountability, often repress information where public schools are required to teach theories as theories and facts as facts. I hated public school, and i don't think i got the world's best education, but it is my belief that a child's right to form their own thoughts comes before a parent's right to force their child in to carbon copying their beliefs.

  • It is exactly because a variety of information is fundamental for a free society that government MUST be kept out of the education system. By giving the government the right to choose the syllabus, you are giving them a monopoly on information. A variety of antagonistic viewpoints taught in school is fundamental to democracy. Yes, some schools will abuse this... But that is less of a threat then the government abusing it!

  • The government should NOT have the right to author the cirriculum of every school, nor to stifle the beliefs of the teachers, but at the same time, there MUST be accountability where there is none under the current system. I believe there can be a reasonable agreement between the clenched fist of the revolution and the invisible hand of the free market; it's NOT an all or nothing proposition on each side. Libertarianism can be reconciled with socialism if both would be wiling to compromise.

  • Agreed.

  • Accountability begins at the local level...and also at the parent level.

Want educated kids? Want ethical kids? Want well fed kids? Want kids AT ALL????

Grow up & start saving. Socialism is an irrational, mystical fraud.

    Shame.

  • Problem is that you're flirting with BIG GOVERNMENT which is never a good thing education or otherwise. What we really need is more free competition in the education industry so that we can see how they stack up against each other at the end of the day.

  • Turn to south Korea and Japan as a model, they have HUGE public school systems with practically no competition, and they turn out better educated students that go to universities in the US and kick the american kids' asses acedemically in a langauge they're not even native speakers of. Competition is good for products, but education is not a product. Private education is often the cause of an unballenced class system that rewards the rich and keeps the poor ignorant.

  • The difference is not the system of education, it is the values on education they hold in Korea and Japan... I know that sentence probably sucks but I'm the product of public education.

  • Well then, it sounds like our education system can't ever compete in the world community until our society values it more, and it doesn't matter whether or not reforms are made.

  • RON PAUL WON THIS DEBATE

  • We Need to spread this video around, great job RP. WAKE UP, LISTEN, BE INSPIRED. Donate Dec 16th RonPaul2008com and be part of the revolution. Lets get our country back.

  • If Ron Paul had said nothing at this debate other than his response about education, that alone would have won me over. What a great deal he is -- a guy who will ax the Dept of Ed AND deliver a whole lot more (or is it less, as in LESS federal government?)! RP 2008!

  • The truth is I dont really know why my friends died. I thought I was going to war when I went to Iraq but when I got there I saw day after day thousands of starving and thirsty kids begging for help. While I sat on top of my humv with my 50 cal pointing at people to stay back so we get acomplish our mission which was to stabilize oil fields to produce oil. As they were destroyed we would rebuild non stop.

  • *RPcantwin* is a plant from some group like AIPAC. According to his/her profile he just started using this nic yesterday - just in time for this debate.

Pay no attention to this phoney.

  • I hope he keeps it up. The bad publicity might help RP. =)

  • Wow you make an account called RPcantwin and that's all you've got to say? He brings up more actual facts than all the other Republican candidates combined.

  • He DOES have a lot of facts, and he IS well educated, but saying that he has more facts than the other republicans combined is like saying "My dog is smarter than a goldfish" or "I could win a duel with a quadraplegic," I would vote for a diseased water buffalo or georgie bush before most of THOSE bozos.

  • RPcantwin, How ignorant...your nic is to actively denounce Ron Paul? Who is your choice?

Would like to debate the facts with you.

  • Ron Paul!!!!!! Next 8 Years!! Believe IT!!!

  • RPcantwin, How ignorant...your nic is to actively denounce Ron Paul? Who is your choice?
