At least At&t is not such a monopoly like Verizon. You can't use sim cards on most Verizon cards to switch networks, you can't get a good phone without an expensive data plan comparing Verizon to T-Mobile you would be saving at least $60 per month using Tmobile.

It all depends on where you live and how powerful the radio in your phone is. Obviously that's different for everyone so there's no definite better carrier its all just done on a case by case basis.

At&t and Verizon's unlimited contracts are waaay overpriced. Period. I switched to Net10's unlimited plan a couple of months ago from Verizon and have never regretted it. It's only 50 bucks a month!! For unlimited texting, calls, 411, web/email, EVERYTHING. Also, NTE10 uses both Verizon and AT&t towers so none of my calls ever get dropped. Combine both their coverage maps together and you get NET10's 3G nationwide network.

I work at AT&T but have Verizon...the reason for it is because Verizon works for me. Now it's really nice that the 3G network is the fastest network but what's the point of you cant get a signal in order to get those speeds. I would rather have a slower networks ALL the time than the fastest sometimes.

In the third, I'll address exactly why Luke says verizon's name solo many times. Of course, it's at&t's rebuttal, but also simply the type of bandwagon commercial method in which the commercial is styled. In Verizon's commercial every actor never looks at or speaks to the camera. In at&ts, luke is a much more confronting narrator and address both the viewer and verizon's directly.
Also, the second AT&T commercial, in which Luke Wilson "downloads" himself is simply a comparision of the network speeds. Don't exclaim "oh my god, he just downloaded himself! That's soo sick." and I'd have you know at&t's 3G is waay faster than verizon's, more than the "head" that remained on verizon's download.
After watching 6:30 minutes of your video, it's clear you're completely bias. The man in the background in the 1st AT&T commercial completely fine until the point he drops one of the phones, and the In-call multi-tasking doesn't hint that the person on the other end of the line is boring. It's simply more convineint. Need to reserve some lakers tickets while your talkative moma is telling you she's coming over? iPhone's internal structure only works on GSM networks (AT&T and Tmobile)--even if its jailbroken, it will NOT work on VZW or Sprint's networks. If choose to not use it with AT&T and use it with Tmobile, it will only work on their 2g network, which makes having an iPhone almost pointless.

When I was in the bank the other day I noticed the bank teller had an iPhone (a 3Gs) and despite only having the Edge network (not 3G) in our area, she loves it.
I asked whether on Edge she can talk and surf the Web at the same time and apparently you can and she uses the feature quite often, in response to friends asking about what's on at the cinema etc.
Probably like most iPhone users she hasn't "jailbroken" her phone, although she knew what I was talking about!
I'm thoroughly enjoying the "Verizon vs AT&T" add war, where Verizon is winning by a country mile and doing it in some style.
But while AT&T's adds may not be as good as Verizon's, they do get accross the plus points about AT&T's network, in a light hearted way - a good clean fight so far.
As to what's more important, having good coverage or a slightly faster connection and being able to surf the net while you're talking on the phone, it's a no brainer - COVERAGE.

Actually, AT&T does have pretty cool phones, including of course the iPhone 4 but also android phones and glaxy 5 phones... And may I remind you guys that AT&T straddles more data than everyone esle combined. And are actaullybexpanding there waaaaay dater than verizons 3G network

Dude, don't take everything so seriously. Our network (internet and cellphones) in USA is totally crap in compare of europe and Japan. We are way behind from speed standpoint. Both AT&T and Verizon have their own pros and cons. Also, the map part that you mentioned is true; it's so not true. Based on 3G map, Missouri and Kansas do not have 3G coverage. Guess what? I am living in Kansas and I have AT&T for 3 years.

Oh my gosh dude. At&t's Surfing the web and calls at the same time, versus your horrible and deluded rant about it. Your's=much worse. I'd also like to add that AT&T has done a remarkable job expanding it's 3G network, while AT&T cradles nearly %70 of mobile browser usage data, and that's before the iPhone 4 came out. In the third, I'll address exactly why Luke says verizon's name solo many times. Of course, it's at&t's rebuttal, but also simply the type of bandwagon commercial method in which the commercial is styled. In Verizon's commercial every actor never looks at or speaks to the camera. In at&ts, luke is a much more confronting narrator and address both the viewer and verizon's directly.

Also, the second AT&T commercial, in which Luke Wilson "downloads" himself is simply a comparision of the network speeds. Don't exclaim "oh my god, he just downloaded himself! That's soo sick." and I'd have you know at&t's 3G is waay faster than verizon's, more than the "head" that remained on verizon's download.

After watching 6:30 minutes of your video, it's clear you're completely bias. The man in the background in the 1st AT&T commercial completely fine until the point he drops one of the phones, and the In-call multi-tasking doesn't hint that the person on the other end of the line is boring. It's simply more convineint. Need to reserve some lakers tickets while your talkative moma is telling you she's coming over? Using the web and the phone at the same time is something I can't live without.

this guy knows what he is talking about... i have verizon and were i live in the hole town there is no at&t service only verizon and a little sprint... i feel that at&t has the iphone and thats it, most of there android phones suck and the phones on verizon are like the droid x and incredible sprint hat the evo and the evo shift. at&t has the iphone and that isnt there thing anymore as a cdma vertion of the iphone is on verizon so now at&t is without the exclusive iphone! at&t can suck it!!!!!!!

Its one thing handy for any professional, businessman, or even a normal iPhone user where and when required when using a AT&T network can get information from the web, which automatically leads me to believe that when not on phone the speed wud be much much faster.

@wolfhunter1992 PROS: Fully customizable, you can multitask, Tons of free apps & stuff. CONS: Your personal information stored on the phone can be stolen easier, Voids Warranty if a problem occurs and your unable to remove you Jail Break, but that happens very rarely happens.
I would recommend you to Jail Break it!! I hope this helps.

iPhone's internal structure only works on GSM networks (AT&T and Tmobile)--even if its jailbroken, it will NOT work on VZW or Sprint's networks. If choose to not use it with AT&T and use it with Tmobile, it will only work on their 2g network, which makes having an iPhone almost pointless.

When I was in the bank the other day I noticed the bank teller had an iPhone (a 3Gs) and despite only having the Edge network (not 3G) in our area, she loves it.
I asked whether on Edge she can talk and surf the Web at the same time and apparently you can and she uses the feature quite often, in response to friends asking about what's on at the cinema etc.
Probably like most iPhone users she hasn't "jailbroken" her phone, although she knew what I was talking about!

I'm thoroughly enjoying the "Verizon vs AT&T" add war, where Verizon is winning by a country mile and doing it in some style.
But while AT&T's adds may not be as good as Verizon's, they do get accross the plus points about AT&T's network, in a light hearted way - a good clean fight so far.
As to what's more important, having good coverage or a slightly faster connection and being able to surf the net while you're talking on the phone, it's a no brainer - COVERAGE.
