Do you use maxon od808 only for solos or for riffs too?

Have you tried other tubescremers and why you decide for maxon?

I'm thinking to buy one and use it with my vh100r.

But as for the maxon i use it for rhythm and lead. Ive tried other overdrive pedals like the Boss SD-1 and MXR Wylde Overdrive (i still have them) but out of them i like the maxon better, its more smoother sounding

Same with everything on my bands EP. All done with the Pod since we couldn't leave our amps set up due to gigs at the time, we wanted a consistent tone on the EP and the Pod was the only solution at the time.

i use a jackson RR proseries.

But how did you reach this sound? is that just the amp or did you put anything in front of the amp?
