@xFlyswatterx being a sherpa, he most likely get paid a lot to guide hikers up the mountain. thats why he did it so many times, im guessing. and some people just enjoy mountain climbing.
@diagonaluk I do not think that Sherpas deserve to be called show offs. As a matter of fact they are the ones who carry the material and set up tent camps for mountain climbing "tourists". The have to climb several times faster and carry much more weight than the climbers. While the climbing "tourists" climb for example 2000m in one day, the sherpas would have done that in as little as four hours, to be able to deliver two to three batches of materials to the next camp.
well as this one climber said, "Anybody can climb Everest on the right day" its not like climbing K2 20 times (i doubt anyone will try to do that) but still an extraordinary achievement.
@Souls2009 i said a normal person would die if he is at the top of mount everest.. without an oxygen equipment.. because he is not trained to breath that less oxygen in the air
@prilstrudel if you climb a mountain that is 1000 times easier it doesn't count those are not linear meters remember every meter extra of highness is a lot more difficult that the one below so if you climb a mountain 50m high 3 million times is still not compared with climbing the everest 20 times
of course it is very easy to climb Mount Brocken, I would never deny that. The height is 1142 meters or 3746.7 feet. But to climb it six thousand times is still a feat, don't you agree?
Guys like this basically carry up all those famous 'mountain climbers' and then go back to their village, letting the climbers take all the credit. I think after 20 summits, he can show off a bit.
@in5secs I understand, but anyone who lives in the UK would have noticed global warming by now. My point is that the narrator speaks of the man noticing global warming as such an amazing thing.

@prilstrudel im german as well.. but ill write in english
i went on: brocken-benno.de
it says he climbed a over 3 million meters
he climbed it 6030 times...
doing math 3 m / 6 k = 500 metres.. (over 500 m)
he climbed 6 thousand times 500-600 metres.. congratulation..
combared to mount everest which is far higher it is nothing ;)
also if ur at the top of mount everest a normal person would die because of the oxygen.. but maybe he brought some oxygen bottle idk.. xD
T1nn3r 1 year ago
@T1nn3r you wouldnt die of oxygen loss......people have been in the stratosphere without dying from oxygen loss.

20 times Everest, this is nothing. In Germany we have a man who has climbed our highest mountain 6,000 times! yes SIX THOUSAND TIMES!
google "Brocken Benno"
