People praise very few cars for "good compromise" between surfooted roadholding and excellent ride comfort. Xantia gives both in high quality (comfort the higest), without compromise. She hasn't sporty perfomer spirit but I love her pet cat character. ;-) And I was supprise how easy she mesaures up modern cars in excellent roadholding and even beats them thanks to her neutral-to-mild-understeer chassis characteristic. The best "mile eater" in executive class still.
just about to get my 3rd xantia, sad to some people but i have driven astons to minis and i cannot get as excited about a car as i do owning one of these. well built and drive so well fantastic on fuel. try not to tell to many people about how good they are there wont be many left for us xantia fans. ps dont be tempted with the xm, not a patch on its little brother.
Only people who really know about cars know how good Xantia's actually are. Together with the Peugeot 504 probably the best car ever to come out of France. Only 2nd hand Lexus or Mercedes are better, but they cost far more and spare parts for a Lex or a Merc carry a HEFTY price tag as well
And the XM is in many ways just a CX with another body. The CX was a beauty, but always plagued with issues.
Still a very good car, esp. the TD. Still looks good and best suspension for an affordable price everyone can buy. I used mine for 7 years n still keeping it.
I own one.. 1997 3.0V6 Activa in metallic silver, so yes, I have ;) I love hydropneumatic syspension cars <3 Did I say any bad words about it in my comment?
Xantia; Nothing really comes close in my mind.. There are some neglected sorry ones out there, but a beautifully kept one, is for me as desirable as any BMW or Audi. Btw, the new Audi RS6 comes with a system that ileminates body roll. For most people a brand new and amazing feature, but does anyone remember the Xantia Activa models - fantastic handling <3
My current Xantia is nearing 200,000 miles and hasn't skipped a beat.
The thing I don't understand is that people don't like buying hydraulic Citroens due to the apparant 'complexity' yet have no trouble buying a post 2002 car....
Its actually engraved under the hood on my Xantia that "this car is not suitable/illegal for driving in the US or Canada" or something like that. I think is was something to do with a strange/stupid US regulation regarding constant ride height. It is a real shame! Fantastic cars.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Pure blasphemy to use this lovely music to underline a fricking Xantia.

Have you ever riden in an Activa?
I so very nearly bought one a few weeks back...

A very underrated car.
Which is a good thing if you buy them second hand.
