@Tbezz24 at first, I tried to understand how would someone like yourself spend $165k for a Range Rover. But when I see that your from Australia, I know why. The cost for something like that is different than in the U.S. because here, a brand new one goes for in the neighborhood of $90k. But if you had to go through 4 radiators,whoever installed then didn't know what they were doing, or you must have been using the incorrect coolant. It also could have been the themostat that caused it to go bad.

@Tbezz24 but for real, I believe it might have been the thermostat that went bad with your Range Rover. As far as the suspension, shit happens. You just have to have regular maintainence every 3K miles or so. Or in your case kilometers since your in Aussie country.

@Timberpants I owned a 2003 Range Rover till 2006. The reason, some jackass drunk driver totaled it overnight when it was parked. I will always be a loyal customer of Range Rover, but as of now, I'll just drive my second vehicle which is a Mercury Mountaineer. I never had any problems with my '03, except for a minor glitch with the stereo, but that was nothing.

@Tbezz24 I as a student own a 2003 Range Rover and my parents own a 2004 Discovery II. If you get your maintenance done on time, you shouldn't have any problems. I love my current vehicle to death. driving my vehicle was always a joy. I seem to have created a special bond with the vehicle that I cherish so much. it's truly a remarkable piece of work. With rovers, if you pick the right one, it'll last forever. However, if you don't you'll be at your mechanic every few months.

I was lucky enough to drive a 2010 RR through a river an inch beneath the door handles. There was no water leakage at all and the terrain response was magnificent. I would recommend Land Rover experience to every one. Fact. Have a good day.

@hpvs15c Test drive an RR. Take it off road and have someone follow you with your Escalade. Once you get past virtually any hill in the RR, turn around to check on the Caddy. Driving new RR isn't like driving any other SUV (Touareg; X5; Q7). I couldn't say that it's better, but i can say that it's totally different. Only problem whith this is the WEIGHT. I recomend to make the chasi from light materials like aluminum or something like that.

land rover has been building SUVs for over 60 years. They are the authority on

4x4 and off roading.  they do not build anything but off road vehicles. Land Rover Range Rover would and does dominate any other brand out there.

The Hummers as most of know them (H2 and H3) are just glorified rebadged Chevys. The H3 shares a lot of components and powertrain with the Trailblazer. The H2 is basically a off road going Tahoe available with larger engines. Land Rover as far as I'm concerned has this one in the bag. If you want more capability, considering getting Land Rover instead of a Range Rover.

As far as the land cruiser, I'd say they're about on par. The Land Cruiser has a better reputation for reliability
