@gammakrush905 No, Mike Gee is the Dude in the Red Jumper LOL, but 2:28 is Definetly Raida, Who is also Definetly Crazy for Creating this Funky Beat, Peace
word to the teens here, I just got 17 and I can't compare with my generation . Since I got to my actual place of residence, I just hang out with older - mostly reaching 20 yrs old hip hop heads and mayors of the hood..
It was 3ft high and rising that got me hooked as a kid. I know they are all still touring etc so you people should take the opportunity to see them if you can. Still excellent and Q-Tip has been involved with some cool people, Nora, Mark Ronson and still addin his own stand out style.
On june 16 (before if you can't make it) we will all watch CHANGES in honor of the greatest rapper ever's birthday. Let's give him the best birthday present ever: the highest viewed video on YouTube!! Let's give him what he deserves!
Copy and paste to all 2pac videos and all music videos let's get this noticed quickly!
This is the real shit. yeah im 15 and i only dig this kinda shit, Tribe, nas, talib, pac, wu, masta ace. I really don't get the stuff out there these days.. Lil wayne, drake. Fuckk all that!
What are the future generations going to do without the lyrics that actually require brains to understand? What are they going to be like without the depth we grew up with?
listen.. let it in your heart and LEARN about REAL hip hop.. peace to all those who appreciate our CULTURE worldwide.. you can not stop our movement..
Why did rap artists decide to start laying down so called "lyrics" over RnB?? What's wrong with Hip Hop like this?? A groovy bassline and beat to accompany the rappers flow?? Isn't that what Hip Hop's about?? Fuck Little Wayne, fuck Kanye, fuck autotune. Peace.
If you didn't bob ya head to this no more hip hop for you I love when artist carry the beats the beat was trash but there lyrics made the beat hot beat box style
Black Sheep hav recently done a native toungue reunion track FYI native tounge following selves out there... Oh yeah... Cool tune btw. Mtv Raps used to be the sh!t - now Mtv is just sh!t. For all the people who think hip hop died with 2Pac and biggie need to stop being spoonfed and acquire some real food for thought by looking out the verrrry small box...
These lyrics are too complex for those minds who cant see beyond the materialistic things other rappers rap about. De La and the Jungle Brothers. Perfect Hip Hop. These are REAL MCs. I hope the ignorant fools can at least comprehend that difference.
There are still cats like mos def, the roots, q-tip has something new, there are most def a few still trying hold hip hop up to what it once was. What it meant at the soul. But most times and most artist just don't it. Soul. Heart. Biggie and Tupac had that. And were the most succesful in regards of mainstream. The one on top now is jayz.
@travisgasho I've heard so many people say that. I just wonder if they know what they actually mean. For me it means free will in hip hop died. So many artists at the top since then have been tied to one style or an stiff identity. I hear you man but we gotta edutcate ourselves as to why it happened, professor griff has good knowledge on this, if people open their eyes they'll see its been done before. Every aspect of our lives lost a lot of free will from around the time they died.
and there is ACTUAL PEOPLE who would rather listen to gucci man and lil boosie than this.. and they think this is wack cuz they dont talk about chains and guns... DEATH TO ALL THAT THINK LIKE THAT
bro waka flocka and gucci get more play than this on the real b thats the hip hop game today but wheres the hip hop wheres the MC's and the bombers and the beatboxers and the groups like quest, soul and the cyde its all dead until the game recognizes that music meant for the club shouldnt be what you play on the fm that all fucking day like wack ass youngmoney
i'm only in my mid-teens and I seriously don't understand the music today. That's why I'd rather listen to old-school hip hop...music that is actually uplifting for the soul and mind. This track is awesome.
@flyguygoon1 It's not you. Radio stations are extensions of the few labels that make up the majors - they don't seek out new talent, they generate shit pop music and bring in actor artists to do it for them, or just have Disney raise them. FM Radio stations exist for only one reason: to advertise these labels' products by playing their shit hook-y tracks all day every day until people can't get the shit outta their head and stupid people are left thinking that means they actually like it.
@Mos141 Yup i listen to all of them also Souls of mischeif new stuff its crazy changes to hip hop even new comers are coming with stlye yes style not that swag ishhh thanking god for him answering me and im even written lyrics learning this era with my on sound but thank all yall who liked my comment
Man, if only more young folks felt as you do. Maybe we'd have a whole rockin' world of hip hop like we did 20ish years ago. If only things had E-volved from there and not DE-volved...
@flyguygoon1 don't listen to CodyAchter. MF doom's rhymes are good, he has an original style..but he ain't saying much in the majority of his tracks. De la soul has something to say in all of their tracks. And the way it's delivered is pure poetry rather than straight spit. Not dissing MF doom, its just different...
@flyguygoon1 dis look like a freestyle, talib kweli, mos def, sadat x, tribe, brand nubian, OC, EPMD awesome lyricists, the radio is more artificial than splenda with biebers and soulja boys.
@flyguygoon1 There is a station where I live that used to devote Fridays to old school hip hop -= really when hip hop was really hip hop-= not that crap it is now. There are few stand out joints that still have the feel - but Honestly I think the newbie generations don't know the difference - kinda sad. We need more than one day to cover the talent of Old School - we need a 24 radio station - not just on XM/Sirrus
Most rap artists now sound like they on crack and think the way they say certain words makes their tracks a hit.
Also...."Part time" hip hop fans think an rap artist that spit SLOW AND SIMPLE rhymes and that they can sing along with are good..which is way so many suck artists get the spotlight.
Example: For some reason people think T-Pain is a rapper..and a good rapper at that..because he has a cool sounding robot voice(autotune) and raps slow with "sing-a-long" hooks.
people turning muslim, and changing their names and featuring them selves among their own group more then the non muslims, like in the case of a tribe called quest with q-tip, his cousin and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.
also, people turning pop, getting shitty life styles and losing track of the fact that to be a musician means making your product is music for the sake of music first and for most.
like why is a lot of them fat and look all like they used to be homeless drug addicts?
dog many of us try. You know what we get?! "I dont like it you cant party to this (fuck yeah you can i.e. Naughty by Nature Feel Me Flow 1 EXAMPLE)" I say everyone stop complaining, kick back and enjoy the tunes. Cause if they dont like it, they're not good enough for it haha
wasn't there a problem between Pos and Dave with Treach from Naughty by Nature? Other than that he's prolly still dissing West Coast gangster rap the way they did in Ego trippin
i dont know if dave or pos had a problem wit treach....but i know they were talkin about the westcoast/gangsta rap in stakes is high...i dont think they did in ego trippin tho...they were makin fun of big headed rappers...
For a minute De La wasn't tight with Jungle like that....After De La Is Dead the Tongues kinda grew apart. In the song 'I Am I Be' Pos spits something like "niggas tryin to be greek..etc.tongues frontin like brothers but nowadays we don't even speak." That line was for the JBs.
The radio is controlled by cretins. Fuck you if you listen.
