This movie IS based on a true story, it's based on a parody book of the same name that was published in the 1930's i think, the book was a parody to another book called how to make friends and be successful or something along those lines.

I love all of Simon Pegg's movies, so i can't wait for this one! :D

no actually your wrong, only the title is based on that book, the actual books title is "how to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie. its story has nothing to do with this film, infact its not even a story its a self help book, which is actually really good

Yes, the original book is "How to Win Friends and Influence People" But theres another book that is a parody to it called "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People" by Irving Tressler, published in 1937. This movie may not be based on either book, but the title, as you said, is.

it was funny but defenetly his weakest effort its worth a veiw but not worth buying on dvd i thought it could be good since i actually really enjoyed run fatboy run but i donno the only funny bits were comin from simon and the rest of the cast seemed rather bored but megan fox was hot as hell. it was good but like i said his weakest effort.
