A bloody depressing film (and book) though, 1984 is. Some people in the world actually live under repressive governments like this (e.g. in Burma and Zimbabwe). Hope and optimism is sometimes all these people have got, plus rebellion if they get desperate enough. Poor sods.

I have always loved this song but I was totally wrong about who sang it. I also love the live version, although the girl seems to struggle a bit with some notes. Now I recognize the voice after seeing this video. Chaka Khan is just wonderful.

Yes, it's Chaka on the original recording, but actually she's not singing Rick's songs in this video, I captured images from Chaka's live video where she only sings her own songs, I made the video edition to simulate she's really singing those songs. Thanks for watching.
