thanx for the extra info fromthesidelines, I was first introduced to these Benchley shorts through the Turner Classic Movies station, the best thing that ever happened to television.
Incidentally, Benchley prescribed the "hot pine" bath [1:17] to his friend Groucho Marx several few years before, when Groucho began to develop insomnia. Benchley assured him the bath would relax him enough to fall asleep. Indeed, he did...and almost drowned in the bathtub (his wife had to pull his head out from the water!).
