Anyone own this light? Any issues? I've read several reviews where people said it broke along the bracket that attaches to the rail. (broke near the screw) some said it broke just tightening it, and others said it broke while firing. Wondering how common this is and if anyone has fired lots of rounds with no issues.
@Mizzsekcnsweet Not at all. What he said was that without the appropriate "key" installed the light might ride forward. The "key" is a little piece of plastic that slips into the light to match the type of rail you have on your gun. Right "key" + right rail = perfect fit w/no slip.
@Mizzsekcnsweet if your worried about the "finger tight" aspect, just keep a quarter in your gear bag, it works perfectly for wrenching the TLR series of lights on and off a rail. but don't take my word for it, give it try.
I agree, sometimes the savings are to great to stay local. Local availability or selection is usually an issue around here. I have placed a few orders with botac and havent had any problems. Their order tracking isn't worthwhile, but if you can get past that, they can save a lot of money on certain products.
@BenderBullet56 Not sure... I think the Streamlights are only designed to fit various picatinny rails. I would recommend contacting streamlight's customer service and asking them directly. I bet you'd have an immediate answer. They're a great company with fast service! Otherwise look at adding a Fenix L1D or P2D light with some sort of 1" scope ring mount/bracket.
I picked up one only because I did not feel like waiting for the TLR-1 to come back in stock. I carry it in a Raven Concealment holster for EDC. I hate the way Key E make the light fit on the gun and will be moding the key to fit flush with trigger housing.
It's definitely a strong enough light to function as that on its own. The TLR-3 is a little power house! I still can't believe how bright it is. Thanks for watching and commenting. I'll check out that holster.
my understanding is that it comes with several keys to help adapt it better to your weapon. regardless of what the key says it fits. this light should be your best bet.
@icemanrulz2001 yes it will fit on the M&P compact. Right now with Key E installed it can only mount on the first or second rail on my full size M&P 40 the gun has 3 rails. The compacts only have two rails. It should install on the first rail you may have a hard time/ may not be able to get it on the second rail. You can mount the light with out a Key but it slips off and moves around a lot. I'm going to mod mine to even with the Key installed I can mount it flush to the trigger guard.
I'm getting sik off ppl saying how good they are with out firing the gun with it on mine broke after about 50 rounds

Nutnfancy says that the light rides forward during shooting. Do you have this problem when its tightened down?

Hehe I just ordered one for my Ruger SR9 woot.
How do you like the m&p9? I almost bought one.

I'm diggin it for sure! Smooth and fun to shoot. You'll love the TLR-3 when you get it on your SR9. Be safe & enjoy.

I got the uncle mikes kydex holster to go with mine and just wear it on my belt. It pulls double duty as a regular flashlight.
