  • oh how i miss 80s television! i wanna create an 80s network! if i could! i would show all 80's programing on my network everyday all day! even commercials! music videos and concerts! movies, and all cartoons! over and over everyday! dedicated to the decade where it was all fun for me! lol

  • man! you don't still have tapes of 'saturday supercade' do you?! man I'd love to see those!!

  • I agree with anyone who thinks Television has Truly LOST its touch with a connection to children and parents. No current commercials compare to these great 80's Ads and Saturday morning cartoons no longer exist. Bring back the 80's please !!!!! or at least programming like we had in the 80's !!!!! keep up the awesome posts.... TY

    .

  • "What kind of grades did you get" - "B's" = Funny! Are those TI 99/4A joysticks in the Quik commercial?

  • back when double stuff oreos where actually double stuffed!!

  • @mndydltn1980 ??? Some snack foods have come and gone, but Double Stuf Oreos haven't changed.

  • LOL Zips sneakers, oh geez mom bought those for us kids back in the day!

  • The teacher in this commercial played Iola Borelin on Mama's Family.

  • This has unlocked unbelieveable memories that would have been forever forgotten if I didn't see this. Thank you so much!

  • I'm the girl in the Nestles chocolate milk commercial! :-) Technology is amazing! I've been looking for my other commercials. . .

  • 2:35, nice

  • wow, took me back. Thank you.

  • I've never understood why Charlie Brown didn't catch on on Saturday mornings. Then again, the same people who made CB&SS made Flashbeagle...

The teacher in the Honey Smacks ad looks really familiar...

Good job, Grimace! Spoil all the good you did jogging by eating a McD's breakfast!

You got to hand it to the guy in the Kool-Aid outfit for skating while wearing that.

I either had Zips or something really similar when I was a kid. I do remember liking velcro over shoelaces.

  • I've seen all of these commercials literally hundreds of times when I was a kid in the 80's growin' up 'til I was 8 in Atlanta, GA. This is really trippin' me out. It's like I use to know all of them by heart. I was born in 1980.

  • Oh, I remember when Quik used to come in those metal containers! I used to fill them with milk when they were empty (or at least, when all the chocolate was out of spoon-reach), shake them up, and drink the chocolately awesomeness that resulted. It just doesn't work with a plastic container... :<

  • I'll give you a thousand dollars ! hahahahahahaha

  • I believe applesomething is right. At 4:28 the kid's gotta be Jaleel White(Steve Urkel). Gotta day tho, the juicy fruit commercial really takes me back. Still know the words like yesterday.

  • @paddoww It's already noted in the video description. Might want to check those.

  • These commercials make it seem like cartoon characters popping up out of nowhere was a common occurrence. It was tough being a kid in the 80s. hehe

  • The design for Birdie in that McDonald's commercial sort of weirds me out. Thank God they fixed that later on.

  • I totally forgot about the professor from Macdonalds.

  • In The News.....man, nostalgia'ed hard with that one.

  • I was 10 years old on this date! I had a 6X6 High Riser!

  • I spy tiny Steve Urkel.

  • wow, i remember when I wanted to get that 6x6 High Risers.

  • My man and I were laughing at the "In the News" part. That SUCKED when we were little because we wanted to see cartoons! But the memory of that for the first time in years is priceless. Very nostalgic!!!

  • Un-sanitized Saturday Mornings for the win! Supercade was this best, and the only NEWS programming on back then was an interesting 3-minute piece on a pretty cool subject.

  • wow i love that Juicy fruit song. That was out 4ever

  • i want the star wars cantina band my nerd boner won't go down D:

  • @deadmetalbr If you were really a nerd, you'd know that the Rebo band played at Jabba's palace...not the cantina.

  • CONTEST ENDS 10/31/84??

    DARN, I MISSED IT.

  • @cocoaviolinist You missed it JUST by a hair! Let's see, I was 11 on Halloween 1984!

  • I was 2 months and 2 weeks old. lol

  • Captain Crunch Sounds like Yogie the Bear?

  • 23. Is Stride Rite still around? I haven't heard anything of them lately...

  • @texacobigred42 Yep, there was one in my local mall last time I was there. That was just after Valentine's Day. Same retro logo too.

  • You smacked'em good. I am not sure if that is a advertisment for cereal or to put your wife in line

  • Those bumpers are awesome

  • Hey you uploaded this on my birthday. Cool. BTW: I miss the old tootsie roll pop commercials.

  • Aww, I was a year and 4 months old when this aired.

    Honey Smacks are freaking good.

  • @kari00ws6 I was 2 months and 2 weeks old. lol

  • THAT WAS URKEL!!! Jahleel White!!! He was so cute as a little boy.

  • I'd hate to be Kool-Aid Man's insurance provider.

  • In the News! I loved this.

  • This was back in an era when Kool-Aid and Oreos were innocent childhood treats and not considered evil because they have *gasp* SUGAR in them!

  • Yes, but as we all know from "research," sugar is a deadly agent that kills children the moment they consume it. Either that or it gives them ADHD. Ridiculous.

  • Thank you for a wonderful post. Please upload more. I have a bunch of ads from the mid-late 80's I need to capture.

  • OMG, i want the star wars return of the jedi play sets for x-mas!!! i miss my childhood!!

  • Rick Dees doing to the commercial bumpers.

I love In the News, especially the intro and outro music. CBS was the best with stuff like that [case in point the 'Special' bumper from an earlier set]

  • oh my god!!! "in the news"!!!! wow!!! thanks!!i always think about that intro globe. and im from d.c.!!!

  • Check out Urkel in the oreo commercial.

  • @pdr86

that was indeed, jaleel white. . . .

  • Saturday morning tv really,i mean really needs to come back. No thanks to digital cable.

  • 3:31 - I always thought that kid looked like a total poser.

  • go figure i do not remember a donkey kong cartoon, and chocolate crunch. i was 7 or something then though. thanks for the upload though =D

  • that would be great if these commercials were to be edited and put on DVDs. i know i would buy them

  • I love watching these old cartoon commercials. Nostalgia!

  • LOL! I had Zip Sneankers when I was a kid...I remember the little pocket. I use to put my lunch money and door key in that.

  • I miss the Old Kool Aid commercials.

  • Kool-Aid commercials in the 90s were decent also. But nowadays they're just stupid.

"3 servings of Kool-Aid have less sugar than a liter of soda."? And the Kool-Aid man and a bottle of soda going against each other in log-rolling? Come on! Get with it, you lame advertisers of today!!!

  • Man I love all the Saturday morning bumps and commercials of the 90s and 80s.

  • One, two, three....three.lol

  • OMG i remember Crunch Canyon.. wow what great memories!

  • I actually have this on video as well and I'm glad that you posted these. I love the sound effects for the "In The News" intro/outro, love the Kool-Aid commercial, Zipp sneakers, Supercade bumpers, heck I love it all...=)

  • Oh boy, I used to watch the Saturday Supercade every Saturday morning. Those video game bumpers sure bring back fond memories. Thanks for posting these!

  • I miss the old Quik containers, desperately. The ones you needed to open with your spoon. And I never knew that the Quik bunny was voiced by Donatello!

I would like to second the incredibleness of that Sy Snootles and the Rebo Band play set.

  • @troodon311

Lol, me too. I would try and pop them off into my glass. Only successful once.

  • I gotta say, Ronald McDonald and Birdie in the McDonald's commercials looked like some real creepy lookin' mo-fos.

Second of all, the Frog in the Honey Smacks commercial apparently had a deeper voice than in his more recent commercials. And that Kool-Aid man really used to have a terrible habit of breaking thru walls.

Last but not least, that was a great educational tidbit about those beautiful cherry blossoms in Washington.

  • that Honey Smacks jingle is really good. the oreo jingle is a classic, too

those are some weird-ass background sound effects for the "In the News" blurbs

i remember the Kenner toy company being the shizz back in the day

like they'd let a little kid win $1,000

that Zips commercial is epic. i think that all the zippers and straps would make them MORE complicated to get on. i loved Stride Rite as a kid, wore them all the time

  • The kid on the Oreo commercial looks more like Webster

  • @DeviousNutria Its Jaleel White (Steve Urkel)
