  • @odin5150 the h22 is a 200hp motor. when most people go to dynos, the power is measured by the wheels. so its less. depending on which h22. there is one with 220hp. but im guessing this one is the 200hp motor.

I have taken it to the Flying J and weighed it on a truck scale (operator said by law it had to be accurate within 1%). With everything still in it + my 12" sub and amp + n2o + about 30lb miscellaneous shit in the trunk and my self (200lb) + approx 20lb fuel, it weighed in @ 2763

  • @andyinyoneck exedy stage 1 clutch, fidanza 8lb flywheel, and made only 187whp 150+tq after tuning. he then went from 2" cat to a 2.5" and a 2.5" intake to a 3" intake. made only 200whp, 156tq. STOCK k20a2's are ~180whp. add an intake, header, exhaust as mods, and you're already over 200whp. get a bigger exhaust, and tune it on Kpro, and you can see 220-230whp off of just bolt-ons. the h22 needs cams and more things to even reach 200. my stock k20a2 made 184whp 148tq. h22s make like 150-160whp

  • @rrustem5 and you. lol. you have no idea what you're talking about. plus its hard to understand what you're saying. if you really have a 96 DX, then thats wayyy below 3000lbs. those year DX's weigh as low as 2200-2300. my 00 EX coupe weighs 2513. the car in the video weighs between 2100-2400. all depending on the year, and trim (CX,DX,EX, etc.) to the engine, the h22 makes 200hp. to the wheels, aproximately 150-160. and i HIGHLT doubt whatever you have, made 187 stock.

VTEC is completely controlled by the ECU using sensors on the head. it changes the lift and duration of the valves...it has nothing to do with the block. apparently you dont have any understanding of how engines work or you would understand this. Oh and telling me that VTEC scares you makes me laugh, thanks for that.

  • My 92 accord put down 170hp and 149.7 torque to the front wheels. Thats with the stock pea shooter accord exhaust. Not a single mod done. The shop said it was the strongest H22A they have ever heard of stock. Even had the stock box intake.

  • that seems about right though thinking you had to get a header, intake and exhaust in order for the H22 to fit you probably should have more power, but a STOCK H22 would run this figures on a proper dyno. My Prelude (1997), with intake (AEM V2), and 2.5 Exhaust (Greddy) ran about 185 whp if I remember correctly, now I'm boosted and there nothing like being boosted :).

  • sorry, but i think that this a bad arguement, because it's not about wheather or not a car can stay on the road, it's how much you have to put into it to KEEP it on the road, anyone can keep any car running with the right investments, japanese imports are said to "last longer" only because they usually last longer than domestics until there's a major problem.

  • H22 is motor an tranni is only about 39 pounds heavier then a B series motor and tranni. The motor jus fits a awkwardly giving more under steer, which makes it feel a little more heavier. But H22 does have a lot of power for a honda, dont sleep on it. Its just a lot harder to swap then a B series because of motor mounts and other miscellaneous things.

  • If you increase the size of your wheel and decrease the height of the tread wall the circumference of the tire stays the same. A 185/65 14 Wheel is 1/2" BIGGER in circumference than a 235/30 18. In this case the 18s would give you better gearing. Just heavy Gearing doesn't change your engine output or how much power you make to the ground, it only changes the drive train's ability to use the power. Seriously the H22 is a fantastic engine. In type s or euro r trim 222hp stock naturally aspirated.

  • its a NEON srt 4, and there as reliable as any other dodge product, and they need boost to be a 14 sec car. I have just as much at my flywheel all motor with basic bolt ons nothing special i/h/e and with a smaller engine 2.3l dohc vtec as a neon does out of the box with a turbo 2.4 dohc, and your neon will need rings and bearings by 80,000 if you don't beat on it, its a domestic man seriously look at the facts, imports last longer and produce more power with less.

  • I ran low 13s on boost with a bad shifter cable, had I been able to do WOT shifting it would have been in the 12s easy, but running the quarter losing boost at every shift is not a good showing of what the car is capable of.

  • because you run lean at a high rpm and that could cause you to pre-detonate and destroy your motor especially when your running boost.

  • well, the car wasnt boosted in this video. But even if it was there is no way a properly tuned car is gonna detonate and blow in a fraction of a second.

  • tuned or not tuned the fule injectors cut off at the rev limit.

  • late reply, i know, but any proper tuning system will cut ignition and/or fuel, if properly tuned, you wont lose fuel at the limiter, only spark.

  • I never dynoed it after it was boosted, and this dyno was 162/132 uncorrected. It ran low 14s n/a and is capable of 12s easy with boost.

  • So you haven't ran it with boost. Would make a good race between you boosted H22 and my Scion tC.
