  • Ok I love long manes but i feel like this is going to get tangled in his legs and he might step on it...

  • @PferdeDerp He has stepped on it. It usually breaks off near to the crest when he does so, or it pulls out. It is so little, I do not think he minds it--it is much less than the mane I pull out of my dressage horses' manes. Thank you for watching!

  • @zzzMylessazzz Do you have horses for sale at all?

  • @FaithElizabethAbbey Faith. I have sent you a pm and look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for watching!

  • hi i would also like to know how to get an amazing mane like that!!!

  • @emchion I have sent you a message with the details--they are too long to post here. Good luck!

  • @zzzMylessazzz Would you mind sending me them too? Thanks.

  • I have a lusitano who is a bare hair-challenged. I've been keeping his mane pulled but I want to grow it out again. I am keeping it braided. But can you give me tips about how to best care for it? Do you take the braids out once a week and what kind of product do you use/how often?

  • @boudiicea I tried to send you a message and look up your channel, but it didn't come up. Send me a message, and I can respond with my thoughts. They are too long to put here:) Thanks for watching.

  • Beautiful *_*

Everyone can see that this horse know that he is amazing *__*

Does it earn a long time to brush the hair? ;-)

  • @nadjad3200 Thank you so much. It takes about 2.5 hours to wash the mane. To prepare it for the public takes about another hour. To bathe the rest of him is about another 2 hours, and to make his body and tail ready takes an hour also. All in all, it takes about 7 hours to make him ready for exhibition. Thanks for watching!

  • Omg!!girlie that is like a beautiful rocking horse , amazing and uber amazing, i wish i had hair like that !!! Pure majick ! Give a big besso to the horsie~~i'm in love" thankyou for sharing with us horsie lovers"" xxxx :)

  • @NerysTudor Thank you very much. I am on my way to the barn now, and will give him a big hug and kiss (and carrot) from you. Thanks for watching!

  • Se va a pesar a su pelo:(

  • how do you do to make that main and tail sow long do you use some kind of treatment?

  • @wildboots Hello, and thank you. I do not use a treatment per se. While I do think he has the long hair gene, I know that care makes a difference as it has grown in the 9 years I have cared for him. I use a whole lot of products, but I feel the big thing is that it stays braided and in bags when he is at home. Thank you for watching.

  • omg i want that Horse !! that hair is beautifull!

  • @mistyspirit1 Thank you. I feel privileged to know him.

  • magnific i love a horse

  • does she like doing this?

  • @chelkiiee I think he likes it as much as he can. He gets less and less frantic every time we go out. If I feel he is too upset, I don't go in, even if I have spent the 7 plus hours to get him ready. I know he is happy to be with me. I know he gets more accepting and calmer with every event. When he tells me he does not want to go anymore, he will retire. Thank you for watching.

  • Wow barbie horse

  • @KonanDK Thank you.

  • @KonanDK I tell little girls when we go out that Barbie lent me her horse and I have to take him back when I am done :).....

  • Beautiful and imagine how much work it is keeping that mane & tail looking their best. Must have to brush comb shampoo an braid everyday? =)

  • @watchensee Thank you. It is a lot of work, but I feel he is worth it. Actually, the mane is brushed, braided, shampooed and bagged every week, not every day. The tail is also washed every week, but it is taken down and brushed every other day, and braided and put back in its bag. To take the bags off and unbraid the mane takes 40 minutes, the wash takes about 2 hours, and the re-braiding and re-bagging takes about 2-3 hours. Thanks for watching!

  • He is already occurs on the mane ..

  • I love the long hair on the horses is very beaut but I think u should cut like 4 fingers cuz he can almost trip over XDD

  • @YoAmazona As it is only hair, he never trips on it. If he steps on it, it pulls out or breaks near to the crest. Thanks for watching.

  • @zzzMylessazzz xP ty to u for let us see something beautiful and a beautiful horse =) EQUESTRIAN(L)

  • @YoAmazona Thank you for your comments. I think he is beautiful, also, and I feel privileged to know him. I hope to have a new video in the next months. Please check back with us. Thank you for watching!

  • You've done a beautiful job. He's obviously nervous but you've still got him bottled up and listening to you--that takes a lot of patience. How long has it taken for his mane to reach this length?

  • @irkenequine Thank you, he has been my ultimate challenge. It took about 6 years for the mane to grow from the point of shoulder to the ground. It has mostly stopped growing now that it has reached the ground. Thanks for watching!

  • Smile making :) Makes me look forward to warmer weather so I can bath my horse!!

  • Thanks. IALHA was the only breed circuit I was aware if in the US. Just seems they're all roached there - I don't like the roaching if any these gorgeous horses!

  • @QH1100 It does take some getting used to. In addition to the IALHA, there are several shows throughout the US which are sanctioned by ANCCE, the association from Spain. Usually, a horse must have her Spanish "Carta" to show in ANCCE shows. It is very traditional to show the mares and young stock roached. But IALHA is more liberal--they allow full manes on mares. Always check your rule book to be sure. Hope to see you at the shows!

  • @zzzMylessazzz Thanks! I hope to get an Andalusian in the next few years. Currently, I have a "stock style" QH mare with many Spanish characteristics (mostly neck & muscling) I do light comp with. I've been researching breeding her with an Andy for an Azteca baby. This mare was trained western when I bought her, but I've since cross trained to compete in lower level dressage, which she did awesome; then did competetive drill team; & now I'm working on collection for parades....

  • @QH1100 That sounds fantastic. Your horse sounds very lucky to have an owner that will try many different disciplines with her. It will keep her from getting bored with working, and it will gymnastisize her in many different ways. Good luck with her and I hope you always enjoy her!

  • @zzzMylessazzz Thanks for the compliment! I've always been interested in just about anything you can harmonize with a horse in, thus my own need for versitility! And another part of my diversity with this mare is that I'm military & have lived all over the country with her. What I have experienced is a vast difference in culturals throughout our own country. I've learned over the years you have to adapt to where your located, & it is not different in horses & horse sports!

  • @zzzMylessazzz ...Shes also an awesome trail horse - so I believe she will produce a nice outcross with an Andalusian that I can also be veritile with... But I really hope to own a full Andy someday I can show. And being a "small" horse owner, I prefer to purchase good quality mares of good breeding, because if something happens she can't be ridden anymore, or compete, I've noticed such mares are usually desirable as broodmares to breeders in their breed (unlike many stallions).

  • @QH1100 You sound very horse-wise. I applaud your plan. I too am looking for a mare--for Garrido first, and then when he passes or becomes infertile, for breeding to outside stallions. Allow me to recommend a Spanish horse that has its Spanish papers, not just the IALHA papers. While she may cost more money (and these days maybe not), her babies will be more valuable than IALHA only papered babies. Much good luck!

  • @zzzMylessazzz Thank you so much for the advice! I've admired these horses as a "favorite breed" my entire life, but never considered owning & training one. So, even though I'm a lifelong horse person who is a lifelong admirer of the breed, can honestly say I really don't know much of the breed or showing (except for perhaps showing the horse on the USDF circuit). So I am starting my research & have actually found YouTube very educational so far, connecting me with breed folks!

  • Beautiful horse but it looks super stressed at some points :(.

  • @fromhellithopped Garrido was purchased from an owner who used a very abusive trainer. Garrido was beaten severely to dance almost every waking moment of his previous life. He has learned to trust me better, although he still gets frantic. Please see his video at the Mexican Independence Day Parade a year later, he is clearly more comfortable. I wait for him when he is upset, and try to focus him on forward. I have not undone all the damage, but he is much better.

  • @zzzMylessazzz Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That can be a very tricky situation, My arabian mare also had a very messy background, reared a soon as you oved to quickly near her etc.. Superstressed and uncertain, now she has gained alot of confidence and she trusts me more than I'm sure I'm worthy of. We are able to take long rides in only a ring around her neck, something I never thought wouldn't even think of trying when I first got her..

  • @fromhellithopped Even in this video he is happier and more trusting then when I came into his life. He gets a little more trusting every day. Thank you for watching, and I hope you'll check back in when his next video is up--I'm sure you will notice his attitude is ever more accepting and calmer.

  • @zzzMylessazzz I wish you all the luck in the world in finding eachother!

  • @fromhellithopped Thank you. It is an ongoing effort. I'm glad you have had such success with your mare. Challenging horses give us our best chance to grow as horsepeople.

  • Unreal mane. Gorgeous. When showing Andalusians, is it required a mare's manes be roached?

  • @QH1100 That depends upon which circuit you are showing. Showing mares roached is traditional--their tails are also shaved and banged as well. In the US, there are many different circuits to show on. You are never wrong in any circuit if the mare is shown roached. ANCCE requires that the mare be roached. IALHA allows the mare to be shown natural or roached. USDF would want dressage braids. Stallions show with manes as long as they can grow them.

  • Omg :( in one part he stepped on his mane and some of it came of ! :( Gorgeous horse <3

  • @Miiiileena He does step on it when he is out in public. At home it is braided and in bags, so he can move freely, lie down, eat and roll like every horse. I do not think it hurts him. I pull my dressage horses' manes and they do not care. Thank you for watching.

  • Incredible! What a beautiful & amazing horse. I want to cry right now. Andalusians are my favorite.

  • @vickiehill1 Thank you and thank you for watching!

  • I wish my horses mane would grow half as long as that. how on earth do you get it to grow so long. beautiful horse btw

  • that horse has better hair than i do..

  • Wow...Gorgeous :D

  • i think its mane and forelock is a tiny bit 2 long ... :o

  • @TheMissanimalluvr In this breed, the males wear their hair as long as they can grow it. When he is home, it is braided and bagged. It only comes down for his public appearances. Thanks for watching.

  • I can just imagine the horse going Shit! I stood on my mane again!

  • i dont like his hair

  • Man, whaat I wouldn't do for my horse to have a mane half as long as that lol. Gorgeous boy too!!

  • @Ponypal95 Thank you. It is a lot of work, but I think it is worth it. Thank you for watching.

  • That horse needs a haircut.. :3

  • @TheHammySlave204 In this breed, the males wear their manes as long as they can. It is a tremendous amount of work it is to grow and maintain a mane this long. It is only down at shows like this. At home, he wears it up in braids and bags, so he gets to "be a horse" and eat, lie down and move like any other horse. Thank you for watching.

  • @zzzMylessazzz Wow!!!!! Where did you get that horse? From a fairytale?

  • @adballet Thank you, I feel that way too. I feel very fortunate to ride and care for him. He came from an owner who had very abusive trainers work him. He has been mistrustful and frantic for much of our life together, and he is only now settling down and relaxing when we work. Unfortunately, his soundness is decreasing, as he is 22 this year, so he will finish his life hacking out and working lightly until he no longer wants to. Thanks for watching!

  • Omg she/he is so beautiful...(heart) It so beautiful...

  • @Elmomix1 Thank you. Garrido is a "he". He is a stallion, so he is a full male--he has not been fixed. In this breed, the males wear their hair as long as they can get it, the females' manes are roached (cut) off. It is tradition. Thank you for watching.

  • Rapunzel of the horse world...

  • @Trine418 Thank you. It is a lot of work, but he is worth it. We had a slow work out today as it rained here yesterday and the arena was still wet. I am hoping it will be dry enough to go out on trail on Thursday. As soon as it gets a little warmer, he will have a "barn bath". Thanks for watching!

  • I want more and more♥ love♥ ♥ :*

  • @berklee24365678 Thank you very much. I liked the horses on your channel. I am working on a new video for Garrido. Hopefully, it will be ready soon. Thank you for watching!

  • My question is how does he eat without stepping on his hair? What do they do to keep him from accidently pulling it out?

  • @pitchblackdam38 When he is at home, in his stall and for his turn-outs and work-outs, his mane stays in braids, and the braids stay in bags. The bags are quite short, and keep the hair up close to the crest. That way, he can lower his head to eat, roll and stretch without pulling it out or eating it. It only comes down for show. Even while we are waiting to go in, I have a groom holding it off the ground. Thank you for watching!

  • woooow :)

  • beautiful horse :-)

  • @L0veMilan Thank you. Yesterday, we could not go out on trail due to the tremendous winds, so he will go today. Thank you for watching!

  • Pauvre cheval il s'emmèle les pied avec ses propres cheveux !

  • @missvoisines C'est pas faux ^^ j'aime les crins longs mais là c'est pas tres pratique pour lui quand meme

  • @pergola2003 It is down only for show. At home it is up in braids and in bags, so he can eat and roll and stretch like any horse. He turns out 3 times per week and works 5-6 days per week. One day he goes on trail (yesterday in fact). It does not seem to bother him when it is down, and he pays no attention to it when it is in its bags. It spends much more time in its bags than loose. Thank you for watching.

  • @zzzMylessazzz Okay ;) en tous cas c'est magnifique :)

  • @pergola2003 Merci!

  • @missvoisines His hair is only down for the show. As you can see, it does not bother him much. At home it is put in braids, and the braids are put in bags, which stay close to the crest of his neck. He eats, lies down, rolls and stretches his head down like all horses--he does not pay any attention to the bags. Thanks for watching.

  • I keep thinking the horse is going to step on his mane! GORGEOUS horse!!

  • @TheCavaliaHorse Thank you. When he steps on it, he usually pulls it out, or he breaks it off near the crest. It doesn't seem to bother him. Thank you for watching!

  • the most beautiful feretop in the world

  • @SelkaAndHorses Thank you and thank you for watching.

  • gorgeous horse and lovely riding :) bet his mane is a pain to clean ;) its a bit long , it gets tangled in his front legs

  • @amy1teto1jazzie1 Thank you. His mane is a lot of work as is the rest of him. At home, it stays in braids and bags so he can be a horse without eating or stepping on it. At exhibitions, it is only down for a short while, so I do not think it bothers him. Thank you for watching!

  • @zzzMylessazzz oh, thats good, i would hate to be him if he had to have his hair down all the time!

  • @amy1teto1jazzie1 He turns out 3 times per week and gets filthy. He is ridden 5-6 times per week and one of those times is on trail with friends--mares included. He boards in a public boarding stable in Southern California. Many of the other boarders bring him treats, carrots and cookies. He has his own masseuse, chiropractor and nutritionist, as well as vet, farrier and me (trainer). He is encouraged to be a horse whenever he is at home. Thank you again.

  • @zzzMylessazzz wow, he has his own masseuse? lucky horse! :)

  • @Camstatic horses like this are so comfortable with thei rmaine that long they dont step on them!!

  • nice horse!

  • @dressageandalusian Thank you and thank you for watching!

  • He is beautiful. I bet his mane is a pain to kee clean and tangle free. I do agree, I think its a bit long but to each their own. Fantastic ride.

  • @23missjenni Thank you very much. While his mane is a lot of work, I feel he is worth it. Thank you for watching!

  • @zzzMylessazzz do you braid it and loop it to keep it clean while hes in the field between shows? i used to love doing horses hair for shows and between shows but too many cropped and cut it just to the bottom of the neck! i love how you kept his hai rlong!!

  • @helema23 Yes, his mane is in braids and bags while he is at home. He turns out 3 times per week and works 5-6 days per week, including one day hacking out, per week. All the time, his hair is up, so he won't step on it or eat it. Thank you for your comments and for watching. It is a lot of work, but i enjoy it.

  • Thank you so much!

  • stupendooooooooooo

  • @MsSalvox Thank you so much!

  • Why does the horse haft to step like this, whats the meaning with this? is not natural.

  • @kalleanka30 It is impossible for a human to teach a horse something that he cannot do in nature. A horse cannot be taught to fly, for instance. All of the movements that Garrido does are done by horses in their natural state. I have simply taught Garrido to do them when I ask, by aids which my body gives him. It is called training. It is Garrido's natural ability and athleticism that highlight the movements with his extreme flair.

  • @kalleanka30 it is natural many stalions use these same steps in courting the mares and sizeing up othe rstallions in the wild!! ever seen an arabian horse dance or a fresian? they can dance the same way and many do it when they are just with othe rhorses!! its a ritual they do for othe rhorses and they have allowed us the privilage of being able to have them do it for us!!

  • I love this video so much that I re-watch it very often.

And I still admire Mylessa presenting Garrido in such a way that it looks extremely easy.

But right from the beginning one can see, how much ride Garrido has - and than Mylessa has to work hard to keep that under control.

And looking carefully one notices that she has to use her lower legs and heels a lot to guide him - even nearly unseen under the long dress.

Mylessa, you are the most elegant rider on a powerful stallion - just great!

  • @heinzstoffregen Thank you so much. I treasure your words, and keep them with me always. Garrido is getting a little older, and will retire from exhibitions soon; I think this year. He has finally grown to know peace in these last 6 months--I hope I do not lose him too soon. He has given me a lifetime of education. I hope I make his last years happy. Thank you again, so much. M and G

  • @PersnicketyPony Thank you but he has never tripped over his hair. When he steps on it, he pulls it out. That is why his hair is up in braids and bags when he is home. It is only down for these types of exhibitions and parades. He works at home with his hair up in his bags. Thanks for watching!

  • here is the second part of my message to you ~ Let go of the idea that this is a hard path to walk with him, let him feel more of YOUR JOY. Your desire to bring forth his offspring is possible - collect him at full moon time when his energies are most potent. There is great love here for you both. blessings, Mishayla

  • @michellesolstar Thank you so much for your energizing thoughts. I am hopeful for spring and continued collection efforts. Today, he will go out on trail with some horse friends. He always enjoys getting out in the country. I will positively keep your advice in mind! Thank you again.

  • Incredible - what a stunningly beautiful horse. Amber Jane x

  • @MegaTANKBOY Thank you very much.

  • wow, absalutly stunning <3

  • @TheCountryChick101 Thank you so much. I tried to reply earlier, but the You Tube wouldn't let me. Thank you for watching.

  • UN APLAUSO PARA MELISSA!!!!!! (cricket! Cricket!) That party might have been a lil too private. Lol.

  • @lermamedrano It was an exhibition at the Feria Del Caballo Espanol 2009, a horse show. It was their first show in May and the entire show was poorly attended, since it was not well known then. You can see the empty tables in the background It has since grown bigger, and is very well attended now. Garrido is a requested favorite at their shows, and he gets plenty of applause. He could not attend in August this year, and almost all the public asked for him.

  • I just saw a comment saying nerves end in the mane....Hair is dead cells!! The top of their manes have nerves but the bottom does not:P Just saying:) BTW lovelovelove your horsex1802183!!;D She is absolutely gorgeous!!

  • @xXHorses4lifeCSXx Thank you so much. I love them all, too. I am truly fortunate to be able to work with them.

  • Comment removed

  • To all those commenting- Horses do not have nerve endings in their manes, so no, it does not hurt when he steps on his hair. In the hunter/jumper world we pull our manes (which is exactly like it sounds!) to make them thinner so that they lay flat on the neck.

I do have a question on style though, I'm use to seeing extra long tails on saddlebreds and such... Is there a reason this horse has an extra long mane but not a dragging tail? Just curious :-)

    Beautiful horse, wonderful ride.

  • @tallyhochick Yes. At the time, I could not keep his tail in a bag, as I do the mane, because we were at a barn where the flies were HORRENDOUS and he would whack his tail bag and cause too much breakage. We have since moved to a barn which practices strict fly control (yay!!) and I can keep his tail in a bag. It has grown and now drags the ground :) Thanks for watching and great question!

  • I would cut it a little, but it must have taken a while to grown that long!

  • @animalwisperer It took 8 years to grow from his point of shoulder to where it is in this video. It has only grown a couple of inches in the last 2 years (the video is from 2009).Thanks for watching!

  • @zzzMylessazzz Wow!

  • If it a gelding or a stallion! Wouldn't it be better to have his mane to his shoulder so that some people don't think he's a mare?

  • @Pharoah161 Garrido is a stallion. In this breed, the male wears his mane as long as he can get it. The females have their hair all cut off (roached). It is tradition. I suppose some people, who are unfamiliar with the breed, might think he is a mare, but that just gives me an opportunity to introduce this breed to them. Thank you for watching!

  • @zzzMylessazzz Thank you thought the comment back i had wondered why some lustiano's and andulisan mare had there hair as you said roached. you ride so well, sorry if my first comment came across as harsh i didn't mean it to i just wondered.

  • @Pharoah161 Thank you. And I didn't mind your comment at all. I welcome the opportunity to talk about this breed to any interested person, as this horse is truly "the horse of kings". I have ridden many breeds of horses, and it is hard to beat a Spanish horse. Thank you for your interest and welcome to a wonderful horse!

  • ouch , please just a few inches, please cut my mane

  • @maidmoira I do not think it hurts him. My jumper's mane was pulled, intentionally, as were my dressage horse's and my clients' hunters' manes. For those horses it is fashion that dictates that they lose almost half of their manes (for the thick ones). I try to ride him so that the wind is mostly behind the hair, so it is blown away from his hooves, please notice our exit. The little he loses, hardly compares with what those horses lose on a constant basis.

  • Dearest Melissa; what a beautiful boy you have! Blessings to you for your patience and understanding for this boy. You can see him relax and Zen-out at 1:41. His face on that section was beautiful. This video brought tears to my eyes.

Wishing you continued success with him.

  • @firecat6232 Thank you very much for watching and for understanding. He has been my ultimate challenge, and I hope I have given something positive to his life as he has certainly given me. Thank you.

  • omg! that mane is really loooooong!! and beutyfull also!

  • Thank you so much! The pony on your channel is adorable. I see that you also take care of lots of hair. It's a labor of love. Thank you for watching!

  • Omg! This horse is absolutely beautiful! I am sooooooo jealous!

  • Thank you for the nice things you said. Half of these vids have comments like the first part of your comment, (I know you were kidding) because the horses are being abused or rough handled. Garrido was abused and rough handled by the man who trained him before me, and I have spent the last 8 years trying to undo what was done to him. Some days are bettter than others, but it seems that I cannot undo everything. A sad reminder that horses should be well treated always, or their future is dim.

  • @zzzMylessazzz

It is evident that this beautiful horse has been severely abused and I can see that your focus, patience and calm demeanor are supporting him greatly - it's all about the consciousness of allowing and releasing resistance when working with these horses. I have andalusians myself - blessings to you.

  • @silverhorse999 Thank you so very much, sincerely, from the bottom of our hearts. Today, he and I walked, a true walk, for the 20 minutes of his work. I then put him away as I was so happy with just that walk. I guess it was his gift to me, as my mare lost his embryo just days ago and his fertility is decreasing as he gets older--he is 21 now. I never thought I would get a walk from him, and I never thought he would be understood. While I am still crying about my lost baby from him,

  • @silverhorse999 Your comments today, and his walk today, have shown me that I must never give up hope, and that the journey I have chosen with him may be long and hard, but rewarding. Perhaps this is the sign I was wanting, to try again for a foal. Thank you so much! Mylessa and Garrido

  • @zzzMylessazzz Mellissa, I have great appreciation of the journey you are experiencing with Garrido - he has given you such a gift and a recognition to you for all the love and tenderness you have shown him. I have this offering for you (it may sound absourd - but it is directly from my guides) Garrido is in his final reincarnation as a horse and you have been instrumental in this process - he has great love for you.

  • such cruelty, having these animals dance for your amusement! Im kidding. half of these vids have comments like this. very pretty horse, though i prefer black adalusians

  • That's weird...why doesn't this unicorn have a horn?

  • @eaaisadreamer Oh thank you--that is so sweet :) I too, think of him this way.

  • Wow! His mane looks like a billy goat beard :D

  • Look at all that beautiful mane!! O.O

  • @nimluvshorses101 Thank you so much. It takes a lot of work to keep it that way. But I think it is worth it. Thank you for watching!

  • OMG! I looooove that mane! The tail is absaloutly gorgeous as well! I have my own Andalusian named Fiesta, LOL. Sadly though the ppl who had her before cut her mane while showing in Dressage. *Sighs.*

  • @horseluverlol Thank you very much. Dont be sad about your horse's mane. I'm sure it will grow back. If you take care of it, it should grow even faster. Much good luck!

  • @zzzMylessazzz Lol, thanks for the luck! Same to you!(: Oh her's is growing alright! I can't wait to see it long and flowing.:D

  • Thank you. He does jump at home, just for fun. He has gone over little 2 ft verticals, that's all. He seems to enjoy it. Thank you for your comments!

  • omg does he jump that would be cool he is BEAUTIFUL magnificent!

  • Beautiful!

  • @DixieLousMama Thank you! I am very fortunate to be able to ride him.

  • He does. That is why it is up at home and when he trailers. He hasn't lost too much recently as I try to keep him off of it.

  • 2:44 he steps on his hair

  • Thank you Cynthia and thank you to all Garrido's new friends. I feel that this Fiesta was his happiest yet, and I think he truly enjoyed himself this time. He sure enjoyed his bucket of carrots when he was done!

  • I saw Garrido at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center yesterday and he is such a fabulous horse that I wish I could have one his babies. Be aware if you have a mare and would like to breed her, he is available!!! Look Melissa up!

  • Yes, and thank you so very much. You made a long bath pass quickly by, and I had great fun telling you about showing Andies in So Cal!! I hope to see you again soon!

  • Thank you so much. Garrido and I are going to the Fiesta of the Spanish Horse today. We hope to meet his friends there!

  • Arent they beautiful!!!

  • my dream is to work in a farm its hard to find a place since i dont have exp any tips????

  • @godislove181 It is hard here in California as everyone sues each other so much, that no-one likes to take a beginner around livestock--they can get really hurt. You can go to a rescue or non-profit barn and volunteer, then you can get some experience and be attractive to a future employer. But the job most people want done is to clean stalls--it is hard, back breaking work. But if you are willing to do it, you can get into a barn. Good luck!

  • Let me know if you want all the details, and I will send them to you. Generally, I wash it and care for it only as much as necessary, and the hair stays up in braids and bags unless he is showing. Thanks!

  • how do care for that mane?

  • We are proud to announce that on April 10, 2011, Garrido will be dancing at the Exhibition of Spanish Dancing Horses at the City of Industry Exposition Center, in the City of Industry, California, at about 6:00p.m. Garrido would love to meet any of his friends there, and answer any questions about him, his care and his breeding services. Hope to see you there!!!

  • I would hope it hurts no more than when a hunter's mane is pulled--it certainly is less mane loss than when I pull my hunter's mane. I do not think he notices, and it is only down for exhibitions. He wears it up in braids and in mane bags when he is at home, so he does not step on it on eat it. Thank you for your kind comments. If he does begin to act like he is uncomfortable, I will cut it, and when he no longer wants to go out, he will retire for good.

  • @zzzMylessazzz Don't worry because they have hardly any nerves there so it doesn't hurt them but they can feel it pulling apparently.
