I'm not sure what you guys are talking about when you say that the G and Z have different shifting, but owning a G and knowing the build facts, both cars have THE SAME drive train. Main difference of the Z is the weight and suspension, due to the addition of rear seats and sheet metal to make the G coupe. It is a pig at times, and could definitely be faster.

Adding HP will definitely change all aspects of the car, if you don't have good suspension you won't even put the power to the ground!

Yes I driven both cars. The G's clutch/stick is sloppy, while the Z's isn't. The Z has a shorter wheel base. The Z is lighter. The Z is more low than the G. The Z just handles better. Maybe that's why the Z pulls better numbers? And that's why Nissan uses the Z instead of the G in the touring races? Please stop being bias. I know you own the car, but you're pathetic to defend it.

The transmission is the same in both cars. They both had issues with syncros going out, slow engagement, or high engagement points. The 350Z has a better straight line time simply because it weighs less (and like +5 hp if you really want to count that). Having worked for both Nissan and Infiniti dealers the height difference was negligible if at all between the two. Perceived lowness came from how far the front bumper extended past the front wheel. Getting lifts under both cars were identical.

If you have not done HPDEs or Track Days you simply do not understand that the variables involved in on track performance. Please note that once the M3 gets close, the G will actually pull a little coming out of turns. The M3 however closes QUICKLY everywhere else. This means that either the M3 has a superior setup, a more experienced driver or both. I have seen guys in beaters whoop up on great cars with less seasoned drivers. Its NOT all about HP.

That's pretty good. I think they went a little over the top with the body work, but it flows nicely and the car sounds healthy. If I were to build a mustnag though, I would go with a 4-valve (like a mach 1 or 03-04 cobra) instead of the new 3-valves. That car is nice though, from what I saw.
