  • Moore is only complaining because most newspapers are left wing propaganda rags anyway like the Washington Compost and the New York Slimes.

  • 80 million pre-packaged Moore fans.

  • Of course by looking at Moore's ever expanding waistline, he himself, is never greedy.

  • Why do we keep denying that it is the internet that has killed the news paper. And why should it be seen as a problem. I used to deliver news papers, and honestly it is a waste of paper now. I used to read the newspaper every day. I finally gave it up and read the news online. It is faster. I was getting sick of reading yesterday's news. I would get the paper and read stuff that I had already read online the day before.

  • It's the same thing with the government. The financial sector has kept growing over the years and the SEC (cops who monitor finance) have shrunk and shrunk. One documentary even said they have a floor with only 1 guy in it, to flip the lights off when he leaves. More corruption & ponzi schemes anyone?

  • So the newspapers are declining because they supported Republicans? Let's see here: the Boston Globe hasn't endorsed a Republican in decades, and the Asian and European papers have never endorsed a Republican. So did these papers avoid the downturn?

We all know the real reason for the newspaper decline: the internet. Michael Moore's alternate explanation is political grandstanding that does not stand up to scrutiny.

  • @FatherBrain Actually the Asian Newspapers are doing really well, the Asia Pacific's News Paper revenue went up 4% last year, and 92% of Japan's population still reads Newspapers.

America has definitely had the worst of it, in 2008-2009 it's Newspaper circulation went down 10.6%, where Europe only saw a 5.6% drop.

I still don't think that Moore's right about blaming the Republicans. I'd say it's because the content is rubbish, so people aren't gonna pay for something they can google.

  • @caitlinjillybelle Some Asian papers are doing OK, but there is a global drop in newspaper readership. The reason is obvious: more and more people get their news from the internet. Why subscribe or buy the newspaper when you can get the same information, with real time updates, from a web site for free?

  • @caitlinjillybelle Conservatives often present their own politically motivated explanation for the decline of newspapers: their left-wing bias has alienated their potential readers. I don't deny that left-wing bias is a problem, but this is not the cause of dropping circulation. After all, the N.Y. Post and the New Hampshire Union Leader also have fewer subscribers than they did a decade ago.

  • @FatherBrain Yeah you're totally right! I just felt like mentioning that they weren't doing so bad. I totally blame the internet for this, though I'm told a lot of internet news is just regurgitated from the newspaper companies/newspaper sites, so what do you think will happen to internet news if the whole industry gives way?

I think the smaller countries have done better (like mine, New Zealand), cos we're so remote it's a bit hard to actually get news that's relevant to us online...

  • I think his conclusions are a bit of a streach, blaming the demise of literacy on the republican party? Aren't there other factors, like the influx of illegal immigrants the dems like to get the door wide open for (repubs aren't much better). How much money do you need to teach a child to read? America IS getting dumbed down, no doubt, but I don't think you can just lay the blame at the feet of a political party.

  • I actually believe technology killed the newspapers

  • @AmericanBadass44 You are correct.

The papers have always been greedy.

  • just like in clint michingen ! or destroyit - (detroit) !

  • To be quite honest all you have to do, to realise that the dumbing down of America is well in hand, is to read all the comments in this posting. The percentage of posts by people on the edge of illiteracy is quite alarming and sadly it is these same people who use what little literacy they have to spew forth hate. Ignorance is a deadly weapon in the hands of the manipulatitive.

  • Michael Moore made the bulk of his $25 million off Capitalism (GOOGLE - celebrity net worth). He disavows Capitalism by saying “Communism has won. Socialism has prevailed” watch?v=SRRe0EFdNpI

    .

Michael Moore states that the “Rich should share the wealth” He states that the money of the rich is ours. watch?v=wzfd_sNw2-Y

    .

“Michael, where’s my fair share of your money?”

  • @Gothikification that communism has won socialism has failed was an ironic name on how socialism for the rich exists using the bailouts as an example

  • @Gothikification

He believes in socalism not donation - douchebag

  • @Gothikification Don't you know the definition of the word rich? It's anyone who is making more than Michael Mooron at any given moment in time.

  • Why read the newspaper when you have networks such as FOX explaining everything simply for the masses? They have the most viewership after all, with simple words, and moving pictures with talking heads!

The thing of it is that yes people still do read the newspaper, just not in the USA. Why? Because they are illiterate. Just because one can read and spell out debt and deficit, doesn't mean one can actually define both their meaning and proper use.

  • This is very true and similiar to entertainment in this country. Look at what's in television and the movie theaters. Thankfully, I cancelled my cable a long time ago, because its nothing more than a marketing tool and mindless entertainment. There isnt much for people to think anymore. It's all typical dumb comedy. The producers and executives of TV are basically bankrupting citizens of the capability of critical thinking for money in their pockets. It's pitiful.

  • 40 million what the £$%^&*.

  • this dumb michael moore doesnt have a clue what hes talking about sad

  • @taregass Oh by the way FUCK YOU

  • @taregass Go jerk off to a picture of Hitler you no brain looser. Its because of germ filth like you that people lock their doors every night. Where is your mother? still stuck in the mud pool you were born from? Ooooooohhhhh someone had a bad childhood

  • MM is soooo right

  • FUCK USA.. AND FUCK WHITE PEOPLE... to save the world.. KILL MOST WHITES..

only way to save our planet is to eliminate white race... BE AWARE PEOPLE... leave the innocents alone but mostly all whites are FUCKERS.. so killem..

  • @taregass I hope you and your family die from AIDS, you fucken worthless lower than dirt son of a bitch.

  • @musicfan088 WELL you and your SHITTY FAMILY will lie in pieces soon.. when someone blows themselves up , because your country killed their families and innocents..

GO FUCK YOURSELF.. FUCK your family.. i hope your whole family is raped infront of your eyes and goes to hell and burns forever..

thats what white motherfcukeres like you deserve

  • The internet has created a new generation and challenged the ideas of a centrally controlled media.I can get my news from people on the street that are better to explain to me the problem and perhaps give it to me in a objective way. That is why newspapers have failed they have failed to provide a business model that competes with internet blogs, video blogs and etc. I can get my news from arround the world in a instant. No waiting. That is Why the paper failed mr moore.

  • @mxrss

I have to disagree, cause somebody thumbed you up. ;-)

Im not from the us and a, and therefore I still know what a newspaper can look like. in germany we had a supreme court ruling some 20 years ago, that something like USAToday isnt allowed to call itself a newspaper. Because pictures arent news! Reading a real newspaper will take the whole day. Just because so much information is in there. But MM is right, you need educated readers to sell this stuff.

  • Moore's one to lecture on greed. Here's a guy suing because he only got $20 million for a documentary instead of $22 million.

  • Lets see, real world, or the tv, papers and the net.

  • Let's see.

    Newspaper or internet.

    . . .

    . . .

Is something just seem a bit off to you?

  • Gee, I always thought people read newspapers less often now because of the availability of cheaper, faster, and more easily accessible forms of news media such as 24 hour news channels (CNN, MSNBC, etc.) and the internet.

But I guess Michael Moore's got a far more reasonable and sensible explanation; those gosh darn evil republicans are conspiring to make people dumb! Why didn't I think of that?

  • More and MORE PEOPLE ARE waking up to OUR evil system and leaders around the world.. its so good to see people are aware of the mishappenings and mishandling of our resources and riches.

  • @taregass "More and MORE PEOPLE ARE waking up to OUR evil system and leaders"

people have been saying that for a while now...

  • @lygophile MORe poelpe.. not white people.. most of white people are brainwashed.. and stupid and dumbasses..

  • @taregass. what??

  • @taregass if you think that white people are dumb because they are white, then you are on dumb fucker. thats if thats why you think they are dumb

  • @taregass looks like your the dumbass...and a little racist

  • Yes, only the neocons are demagogs, right Moore? Hahahah. There is nothing viable in the US. It is rotten.

  • @Ewochable Shame you couldn't spell "demagogue."

  • @bobbyhill3323 Oh, touché. The spellingerror completely undermined my statement. If I cannot spell demagogue, then Moore cannot be one.

    Ps. Moore is still one.

  • *Moore still is one.

    (sorry):'(

  • @sbs9026 no you tell me a place on Earth where Socialism has been implemented ? socialism is as flawed as capitalism, but capitalism is rarely blamed for any of its failings and often socialism is blamed where it is not present.

  • @MUDSHARK111 If a place has a government, they have socialism

  • @LordOfNothingreally the most important aspect of political socialism is that workers own the means of production.where ever there are people there is socialism. but one cannot label a society as socialist simple because they have free library's or a fire service ect ,or even welfare.

  • @MUDSHARK111 Now we are just talking about degrees of socialism. Socialism is for the common good; like library services or fire response. But where in the argument that it says providing health care, education or other basic human rights is government overreaching (labelling them "socialists"), I quite simply don't understand.

Socialism as an "ism" may be as you say, but socialism as an ideal, as I use it, is certainly more utilitarian.

  • @LordOfNothingreally "Socialism as an "ism" may be as you say, but socialism as an ideal, as I use it, is certainly more utilitarian." certainly.

  • @MUDSHARK111 You have to understand that the problems of capitalism are often said to be polarisations in society. That it creates a gulf between rich and poor, which contributes with a complex series of issues. Socialism might be blamed for ineffeciency etc., so it is hard to asses them in terms of benefits and problems - they cause different b.and p.s.

Also, socialism is not defined as communism as you suppose. Take of the blackandwhitegogles.

  • @MUDSHARK111 You just seem to have a pretty "hard" understanding of socialism. That the people own the means of production is almost a marxist structure. Normally the term socialism is used in a broader sense. But you never said what I said you said, so sorry if I misinterpr. you.

  • @Ewochable "Normally the term socialism is used in a broader sense" well thats just it, the term is used in far to broad a sense .it takes character to apologize. it is not something i have often com across on the Internet.you have my respect.

  • @Ewochable "socialism is not defined as communism as you suppose"where did i suppose that ?

  • @sbs9026 Norway

  • Michael Moore you're fantastic! I love your great fighting job. The world needs your voice.

  • @Pablomf1 Well America needs it. A lot of other countries are doing just fine. lol

  • America's got a long way to go

  • Corporatism is what did this. Not capitalism. Want to change the world? Look into Conscious Capitalism. That is what will reverse this.

  • A good financial adviser once told me: "What they wont tell you is that money in motion makes more money"

If companies spent more money to increases the quality of there services and products, maybe capitalism wouldn't be so terrible or corrupt if they actually did something.

  • Mike misused the word "decimate"

to decimate means to reduce by 1/10th

I think we've done far worse to our educational system than that

  • It all started when video killed the radio star.

  • As a Canadian who visits the US often. I can say that America is full of intelligent, well spoken, hard working, genuinely nice people. It's only in their media (entertainment, news, etc.) where they might seem strange to outsiders. And I think Moore falls into that category, exaggerating a little too much to get his point across. It makes me mad that there are people who live in countries so far way from the US, that FOX news, TMZ, and Moore's perception is all they think America is about.

  • @jincups He is NOT exaggerating. I remember when we had "real" news. I remember when celebrity news was confined to 1 or 2 pages of all of our trusted reading material. the media has since conglomerated and now it only gives us nonsense. I remember when schools focused heavily on science, math and global history. Not anymore... We have been dumbed down... drastically. And as a "citizen" of the US, I can tell you for a fact you know NOT of which you speak.

  • @newave123456 Idk dude this kinda speach make is not an arguement and there are holes in it like in my state massachusetts we have a better education system then almost any other state I dont want feds in my schools lol. feds suck dick.

  • @chinchoweed - Ron Paul said it best - Let the people of each state regulate their school's needs. Who better then the parents of the childern attending those schools - right !!! Back over 100 years ago - school was provided by the community Church's. The education was outstanding, and it was relative to the people who lived there ....

  • @sbs9026 Oh, really?

So, you advocate teaching children: the earth is flat; the earth is less than 7000 years old; the earth is the center of the universe; slavery is the best way to handle 'dem darkies; and all the other sundry lies of 'the church?'

Yup, nothing like that old time religion for stupifying the kiddies. Like it or not, cuddle-bum, America is a part of the world, the world is not part of America.

Teach your children that, or they will be calling the Chinese 'master.'

  • @Krocotto - Got Two Words to describe you ... "Nut-Job"

  • @sbs9026 Ah, yes, the oldest religious dodge there is: "iffen dey doan gree wif me, dey's nuts!"

Wake up, honey-chile, it's the 21st century and letting hicks set the agenda for their children breeds the filth of Fred Phelps, the heterosexuality of Ted "I never swallowed, only spit" Haggard, and the hypocritical stupidity of Ken Ham.

Education is not best handled by people whose religious foundations command them to deny reality. Children need to learn, not be lobotomized.

  • @Krocotto - Wrong again - my so utterly misinformed, and massively government school liberalized and indoctrinated friend. Concerning the subject of dodging your question. You've already shown that you don't have the educational of factual background that it would take to have an intellectual conversation with. When your views are as solidified as concrete, and your knowledge of the subject would obviously fit on the top of a pin! You - Dig ???

  • @sbs9026 Ah, yes, the old 'librul' conspiracy trick, eh? As for 'education,' get some yourself and see what 'church schooling' has done for Kentucky. The "Ark Park" is a testament of the worst kind for your idea of 'teechin chillins in da choich whereun theyun gets da bess o da bess edumacation....'

The modern xian church is a truly filthy, disgusting, shame of humanity, not worthy of this video. MM is talking education, where children are taught to read, not suck pastor weenie...

  • @sbs9026 But of course that would mean doing something the church not only cannot do but considers a virtue to refuse to do: accepting reality. You are of course, entitled to your own opinion (and of course, it's as ill-informed as any fool who spouts 'librul gubmint spiracies") but you are not entitled to your own facts. You can't make up what you wish and pretend it's real.

Insulting me because reality doesn't fit your wishes doesn't change reality.

  • @sbs9026 The Americanized version of the lie of xianity conforms with it's predecessors in that it marries itself quite well with the capitalist idea of keeping people uneducated in order to keep them from rising or revolting. The church, in spite of the mountains of evidence that nothing in the bible is true, even to the point that Nazareth itself didn't even exist during the time of the mythical Jesus, still maintains that to deny reality is "Godly" and patriotically American.

  • @sbs9026 Granted, for those like you, it IS easier to name call and blame the 'librul, socialist gubmint' for the fact that you cannot keep up with the changing society that has left you behind while you sit in your foul stew of self-imposed ignorance and claim that "iffin we'all jus get back to da church, ebyting goan be aright."

The church, as little as 150 years ago claimed it was "God's Will" that black humans be held as slaves by whit humans.

You have nothing to brag about with the church.

  • @sbs9026 As little as 100 years ago, the church proclaimed that women who wished to vote were harlots, "Satan led" to sin by believing their female bodies were meant for anything other that bearing children for their husbands.

Again, just another in the long line of crap that 'the church' has inflicted on humanity. And you think that by letting such red-neck, gap-toothed, inbred idiots take their kids out of school and teaching them in 'church' is going to help this nation?

    You sir, are a fool.

  • @sbs9026 But it has always been thus with people who cannot keep up due to limited intellectual capacity. The Inquisition was a direct response to people realizing that the church, the myth of Jesus, and religion in general really sucked ass. As it lost power, the church simply killed those who were smart enough to see through the lies.

Like what the church wants to do today, to MDs who help women in need.

Again, the xian church is a thing of utmost filth, nothing to be proud of.

  • @sbs9026 Thus, to claim that to combat the problem of the 'dumbing down' of American children by dumbing them down even further by educating them in the backwardness of any church is to reveal no love for children or even of humanity in general.

It is the claim of the truly hate-filled, ignorant type who back men who claim to be guided by 'gawd' and whose agendas claim 'liberty' without stating that that 'liberty' is for white, heterosexual 'acting,' males only.

    Nothing to brag about there.

  • @sbs9026 So, your response will be typical of your fellow sheep:

Because I am smarter and better informed than you, I must be:

A queer. A liberal. A 'god-hater' (something that cannot be done-can't hate what isn't real).

To sheep like you I must:

Hate 'Amurka.' Want to destroy 'Amurka.' Change 'Amurka' into a 'socialist' sub-state of Russia.

    You are so sadly predictable.

You will have no ideas with which to debate, only threats and imprecations.

Because that is all your type can do.

  • @sbs9026 And when your type's true colors show, you do the only thing left: kill.

You speak not with reason nor intellect, but with the lizard part of your brain, the only truly functioning part. Emotions rule you. You get teary eyed at "The Star Spangled Banner" and are proud of it. That is not patriotism but jingoism.

You feel that if we get rid of all those 'intellectuals' and get back to the basics of the church, god will bless us again.

And you are proud of your ignorance.

    Pathetic.

  • @sbs9026 MM's point is that we cut our own throat by reducing the ability of our people to read, period.

Today, libraries are destroying books that have not been checked out in over two years. This includes reference books. These books aren't being digitalized, they are simply being destroyed outright and being replaced by such shit as "Twilight."

We must value an educated, literate public, or we will return to the feudal system of ignorant peasants with rich overlords.

    What the church wants.

  • @Krocotto

We're already seeing a return to the feudal system: The rise of the super-rich, the shrinking of the middle class, the rise of people living on the edge of poverty. Unions are being eliminated. And colleges just keep getting more expensive.

  • @Krocotto MM has lots of points, he's like a lawyer who can sell you anything from both sides of any issue. He's a sensationalist, nothing more nothing less, thats why his movies are called movies not documentaries

  • @stavie03

You may be as envious of MM's abilities as you please, the facts he clearly enumerates will not change. MM is a chronicler of what is going on around us all the time. Even he, however, cannot keep up with the rising tide of pure idiocy overtaking this great country. For example, Michele Bachmann, a complete ignoramus, continues to utter the most ridiculous, completely false crap, and there are still people who want her as our president.

You can't make this shit up.

  • @Krocotto How about Sarah Palin?

  • @kessass83 Oh, we're safe with her! She's even been exorcised! That way, she's clear-minded enough to ban books, push her Dominionist agenda, and shoot terrorist wolves from a helicopter.

Nah, just another nit-wit narcissist, clue-less and hate-filled. When asked which periodicals she reads to keep up with the news, she couldn't answer. Asked two (2) more times, she still couldn't!!!! And she's supposed to have an actual Communications Degree!

    She's a dangerous fool.

  • @Krocotto Right. The most dangerous is the fool who is under informed, under educated, under... under...under and over confident and over estimated over her intelligent. Look Matt Diamond who is worry about is she going to use Nuclear Weapon against US or some other foreign country .

  • @Krocotto Of course who the fuck needs to know how to read when Michael Moore is their sole source of information? He sounds like he's complaining about his best customers!

  • 40 million? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My God.

  • Very right and very scaring...

  • Mmm yeah I don't know mate!? You know, If he would continued on doing his so-called Greatest America Hearo thing by hasseling the clowns in charge of the 9/11 investigations back then, Then yes, he would then be an unequivocal American Hero!? Till then, mate what can I say?.. I think he's just a bit of sharliton or a polotitian mate!

    Peace:|

  • I am an intelligent human being. Not just American. I think it is a human choice to prioritize your own education. I think a child can tell the parent whether or not they enjoy their learning environment. I watched kids fuck around in the class room. I fucked around too but I paid attention to what my teacher told me. Some kids lack the initiative to work. Some kids don't see how they may benefit from school. Some kids just don't want to be in school. Don't blame anyone but yourself.

  • @scocrista who isn't everyone is smart in their way n with that you can turn it into a buisness or somethin think about it don't throw it out just cause they didn't pay attention to class n me n you know theres a lot of idiots that made history

  • The dumbing down of America continues.

  • @just4funzees Yes, that's exactly what Michael Mooron is doing!

  • Once again another devastating facts that add up to an indictment of capitalist short-term greed destroying yet another level of our country, before our eyes. Good job, Mistah Biznizzman!

  • Forty million functionally illiterate Americans! That's pretty obvious, if you read many of the YouTube comments! But these people are apparently capable of watching Faux News & videos of Sparky licking his balls!

  • Moore seems to find a republican conspiracy in everything. Why are newspapers dieing? TV and the internet, electronic media. That is where I get the news. Being an ultra-liberal, I will assume Moore is an environmentalist. He should be pleased that trees are not being cut down to make newspapers. And how many of those newspapers end up in landfills? What about all of the energy that is consumed making newspapers? So you could argue that getting rid of newspapers is good for the environment.

  • I mean NYP, WP, etc haven't killed off their journalism

  • No Fatso. The dishonest and corrupt dead "journalism" that you love is what killed the Newspapers. Only right-leaning Newspapers are making it becuase they having killed off journalism the way NYT,La Times, etc has

  • He has some points, but its the monopolized and unions that are also to blame for the concern in the school system. They take extra control of public laws and dont lose money or go out of business when children fail.

I will definetly agree that there is too much corporate control over the media. The media brainwashed people to help create the concerns we have today. That is something that everyone should praise Moore about.

  • i like mike, but he is way too in love with the democrats, he's giving them way too much rope that they don't deserve. We are well into Obama's presidency, and not much has really changed, its a giant charade really.

  • people need to stop using the phrase "right on top of ground zero" when referencing the mosque being built in Manhatton. Its not on ground zero. Hearing initial reports of a mosque being built on ground zero had me so angry at first untill i discovered the truth. Now that i know better, you couldnt pay me to care.

  • Leaning left killed the newspapers Michael

  • @herbedeb1 No, greed, I'm sorry but the truth hurts, rich ríghtwingers are assholes, they don't give a FUCK about you and morality. just a fasade. MONEY MONEY MONEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! POWER!

  • @Imhornydadcomeinside You left wingdings seem to really believe what you say don't you. Why don't you add a few more curse words to the act. That will really make you sound smart.

  • It's called creative destruction take an economics class. Greed isn't causing illiteracy dude thats stupidity and lazziness. If people really wanted to learn then they would if they don't then it doesn't happen

  • the reason we have such dummies in America is not the school system, its the parents

  • I disagree with his assessment somewhat. Not that all he has said is wrong however. We indeed do have a nation of ignorant people, that can't read, and even worse, have trouble comprehending things. But the rise of the internet, and the news that the internet brings played an integral part in it's demise as well.

  • hell yea id bust the teachers union. Michael moore just said kids arent learning, well whos suppose to teache them? Its a ridiculous idea that you cant fire a teacher when these students are obviously not learning at the lvl they should. but its also the school administrations who come up with ways to hide the problem because they are at risk of losing funding.

  • I like when people can find connections between what seem like unrelated events, but this is pushing it. That the newspapers, who wanted GOP candidates that would help make them more profitable as newspapers and more enriched as private citizens, ended up destroying themselves through these actions by allowing the country to go illiterate? Sorry, but that seems a bit of a stretch.

  • Newspapars are going under because of the internet. People can get thier information online for basically free. It is like after the civil war the pony express went under because a huge railroad system was built. Think before you talk Moore.

  • TV doesn't have that problem.

  • @WolfEyesatNight

Has a bigger problem. TV = Kapitalism

  • It's really sad. I just finished my junior English course in college, and the students in there literally read aloud like they are decoding ancient scriptures.

  • The Republans have gutted education. They know that educated people will become Democratic party members.

  • i notice that a lot of kids are really really arrogant and stupid now

  • moore is right alot of americans cannot spell correctly or are illiterate. Many do not understand what is going on in the US . thats why FOX news and the politicians get away with their lies.

  • Schools are funded by local property taxes. As are firemen and police. The Federal government takes a fortune and gives us roads, bombers and crap. Most of the government people use are actually paid locally. So it doesnt matter that much whos in Congress, other than how they compete to get us in debt and waste money.

  • Keep them stupid and then you can control them better, WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

  • Ever since the teachers could unionize education has suffered. They don't care about children, they care about adding more jobs and keeping hours the same. Stop looking to the teachers union like they care about anyone, but themselves.

  • I blame illiteracy on the public school system being taken over by the federal government. Government is failure.

  • There he goes with that 'R' word, REPUBLICAN. Hey fat ass, the Unions have killed this country simply because of one thing. GREED! Get more for working less.. I am all for equal pay for equal work.

  • Public schools are an insult to the American people. If we got rid of them the quality of education would go up and the price would go down. This fool can't see that it's because of capitalism that he is able to live in such excess that allows him to be so fat.

  • @Bfisher14 : so the founders of your country like thomas jefferson who worked his ass off to install a public education system were insulting the nation they created by trying to get everybody an education? wasn't bushes NCLB act supposed to increase competition (capitalism-style) hence performance within the system? didn't really work out that much eh?

  • @dontliethetruth What we need is the voucher system that milton friedman talks about or a system similar to japan. I also think its funny that poor and uneducated people vote for democrats, why would republicans want people to be dumb.

  • @Bfisher14 while your last point is true, it's also true that poor people are more disillusioned with democracies and show low voter turnout in total.

regarding democrats: it's about time that working and poor people teach the DNC&DLC a lesson and switch their votes to a more progressive fraction that actually does smth for them instead of serving their corporate masters (goldman sux, big pharma etc.)

  • Michael Moore, gluttony made him fat...all his money and all those steak dinners.

  • With an illiterate population of ignorant rednecks your military and moral support for wars will be tremendous.

They've been made illiterate to be made soldiers. Simple.

  • Bravo Michael.... I still report (for radio). I am paid 20% less today in real coin than I was paid 25 years ago. But the bosses are getting richer and richer and the quality of the medium is dwindling.

MM has at least identified the key problem.

  • Breaking the teachers union is one of the most important things we can do for education. The federal dept of education absolutely sucks and has been going downhill every single decade since it started. Assholes like Moore are against vouchers to allow parents to send their kids to a good school, rather than the terrible local public school.

Catholic schools waste an hour every day on religion and STILL outperform the public schools!

  • @christo930 : i went to the catholic schools many years ago....if you lived through them....or don't wind up in mental hospital from them....you'll come out with a good education. I went from 1960 to 66.....they (the nuns) didn't take any crap from any kid....... I saw one kid get slapped right out of his seat on to the floor (he definately deserved it)

  • @inkey2 you realise that kind of treatment towards children creates adults with a lot of anger and vengeance feelings inside of them?

  • @nimoisansvous yes i do. I would imagine military schools for youngsters would have the same effect as well. In the Catholic schools I went to there was about 53 students to a class....i guess the only way to control that many kids is "fear"

  • @nimoisansvous No they don't. The adults in my life always tell their stories of being disciplined by their Catholic school nuns and they all turned out to be caring individuals. Your statement is a childish observation.

  • @RichL123 no, you're just saying that I'm wrong based on a few people you know while I've been getting this in courses in college. I didn't say ALL of them turn out that way, but when you hear about murderers etc in the news they have almost always had trouble with psychical abuse during their childhood. They are 'exceptions' but the victims they make can't be made up for.

  • @nimoisansvous Yeah you might want to question things you learn in college and not just eat the shit up.

  • @RichL123 I have actually done internship (hope I translated that right) with these kind of people. Accusing me of being gullible isn't a valid point at all.

  • I still can't believe that a newspaper loses money!!! Do you know how much it costs to sell your cat, dog, a desk, a chair, a car, etc. in a newspaper? And the ads! How much does it cost to place a full page ad in the newspaper? Where the hell is all this money going? Certainly not to pay for the cheap newsprint the paper is printed on.

  • If the newspapers got rid of their crossword puzzles, they would lose most of their literate customers.

  • The truth is our languages based on our own abstracts are superficial to complexity of technical reality. Info monopolies based on so-called western capitalism use people too verbally relying too much on connection and relationship but too little investigation that new generations are no longer fall for easily. Details must be always available and evolving to new facts. Printing news paper hurts environment. Mass media news fall short in referential transcripts, debates and extra backgrounds.

  • I don't even watch fox for the weather

  • 80 million stupid Americans

    They all watch Fox.

    Stupid fucks.

  • The reason they need bigger pictures in the paper is because then need the space to put fat lumps like him in the picture.

But he does have one point-papers did get rid of the "beat reporter" (though not because of "greed"--greed is good) and when you do that and have just a bunch of AP wire stories, why buy the local paper? Same with getting rid of features and comic strips. People liked their regular features, when they are gone one less reason to buy and they didn't.

  • Mmmm you write a criticism of Rupert Murdoch and it disapears...strange

  • Internet will allways be intelectials enemy

  • not to be mean or anything but the u.s literacy ranks behind the western world...

  • Michael Moore will go down as one of the greatest American heroes of all time. I know he sure inspires my videos. Keep it up Mikey!!!

  • yes he will--he makes us realize how silly socialism with his crazy arguments for it. The guy should have the USSR flag tattooed on his face.

  • Ha-ha-ha!!! Now that's funny. American hero, ha-ha-ha!!!

  • @TheDailyConversation especially with his current plan to demand the Mosque be build right on top of the wtc site. Sober up from the kool-aid and blue pill. MM is a liar and a hypocrite. He refuses to move to thye commie countries he claims are so "great" becuase he knows he never would be a multi-millionaire there. Also, he wouldn't be overwight. Btw, he refuses to hire Blacks to film his turd flicks. Talk about Hypocrisy and he DOES own stock including Hailburton. Don't give your money to him.

  • @kevyster You're a liar, you have a problem with muslims because they're arabs, never mind how many a religion has killed, what race does it belong to?

  • @TheDailyConversation I wonder if all the newspapers, leaning left, had anything to do with them going bust. You bet it did!!

  • I really don't mean to be facetious but all you really have to do is look at the spelling in all these youtube comments to see he's right.

  • @happylilsunbeam

No, please be facetious...you're spot on.

  • @happylilsunbeam especially when there is spell check available! lol!

  • @happylilsunbeam Yes, and that's where the horror of the situation hits home. The internet has increased the power of illiterates who have strong (yet uneducated) opinions.

  • @happylilsunbeam wow are you retarded people dont spell right on youtube because it doesnt matter as long as you know what im saying on the internet then who cares

  • @happylilsunbeam if you call someone who demands we build a mosque right on top of the wtc site an "American Hero", then you really need some major help. Btw, the Wikileads dick IS Not a Hero. He put our troops in danger, just like the asshole "Preacher" in Florida almost did. Neither of them are Heros and Mike Moore is a scumbag benedict Arnold. Will he damand Westboro bapist BS be built at all miltary recruitment centers, miltary bases, etc next? FUCK YOU FAT POS, Join 44's lady Move Along.

  • American teachers are the lowest paid in the developed world. Pay them more and they will work harder. Countries which pay their teachers well have better standards of literacy. In saying that, stupid consumers buy more worthless crap and fall for more scams than well-educated ones, so it won't be good for business. Where are the Democrats on education? Would they prefer healthy morons or fat but smart guys (like Mr Moore)?

  • I love you, but you could not be more wrong. Papers are massively liberal, capitalism is the only thing that could save them. 55% of their base has vanished because of the overwhelming bias/liberal slant. When I lived in LA, I dropped the Times, could not start off each day reading slanted crap, that had zero to do with journalism. I live in KC now and have dropped the Star for the same reason and I love newspapers Moronic liberalism is killing NewsPapers not the 'C' word.

    Ken O'Toole

  • Lazy ass kids read some dam books.

They are all on drugs come on people.

We where home of the brave.

Now we are just home of the stupid.

  • Nothing is stopping Michael Moore from starting his own Newspaper. Hire some people and put out the newspaper. But he won't do it. He has a website . Moore is such a tool. He talks big but he doesn't even listen to his own propaganda .

  • Michael Moore is wrong, again. Newspapers are going under because we have many other alternatives now to get the news. And unlike Newspapers, The news is updated up to the minute. Moore is living in the past. As foe the Teachers Union, my kids go to school 7 hours a day . And only 6 hours on one day . Why? Because of the Teachers Union. They should be going 9 to 10 hours a day.
