I agree about the R&R Hall of Fame. Rush not being in as well as Yes. I saw the film and they mentioned Yes as an inspiration. Bands like those not being in R&R HOF and someone like Madonna being in is total BULL... It's just a joke and not a true slice of Rock&Roll history(the R&R HOF that is)
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame lost all credibility by not inducting Rush. This film is their Hall of Fame. I'm almost hoping that they don't get inducted because if the R & R Hall of Fame had any merit they would have been in long ago. Rush is above that crap.
This is so awesome!!! I seen rush in 1982, Signals tour, it was awesome. in the Carrier Dome, Syracuse NY, my sis and I and her boyfriend, it blew my mind. I listened to "Hemispheres" till the needle wore out and 2112 and "permanent waves" and couldn't stop looking at the pretty lady on the cover- great band, and their music touched my life and I still love their music....
wow, amazing job Jason... nothing like being enterprising and making yourself available at the right time and the right place. I just saw the tail end of this documentary on VH1 and just ordered it on DVD (and downloaded it too I have to admit). I'm a huge RUSH HEAD but lost track of them over the past few years. My first taste of RUSH is when I went garage sale shopping for old 8-track tapes and got 2112. My folks wouldn't let me listen to radio but I had a 2XL toy robot that played 8track
Bach's son, Paris is standing in the background, during the interview. At the end, right before the credits, he shows up in the background again, not knowing what the hell to do, and lets out a nervous huff. My friend says he's nothing like his dad, that he's really calm and laid back. It must have been overwhelming for him. It would be for me.
79? I'm gonna smack ya round a bit,, punk (playing with ya, love) , I saw RUSH in 1977 , so there, dang man 1977. ... And you,how dare you think you owe anything to anyone, You saw it, its yours, all yours, forever. :). Did I fire one 2112 or 5??
@N0rthwestRadio Ha I know I'm just a pup right? And God bless that you were there in 77! So cool! That Hemisphere's tour to me was unreal, but a bummer too because someone stole our StarMan Banner that took days to paint. I'm convinced Lerxst stole it and is now using it as his turban!
Hey? My name is Glen. I live in the Burbs of NY. I just wanted to say thanks for posting this clip of Rush. I saw the film and thought it was great! Awsome bunch of guy's who play the greatest music. Can't wait to see them again when they come to town.
WHAT THE F!!!!!!!!!!! THE GUY AT 2:10 WAS ON AN EPISODE OF THAT METAL SHOW IM NOT EVEN KIDDING THE STEVE VAI EPISODE GO WATCH IT HE ASKS EDDIE A QUESTION IN THE STUMP THE TRUNK PART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Rush Fans! I am the owner of this channel & our entertainment news website, ap-red (dot c o m ) & want to thank you guys for being cool & positive. I went to my first Rush concert when I was 14 in 1979. Hemispheres Tour, with only 2,100 people there. When I was told Rush was going to be at Tribeca, I decided to play cameraman just to meet them. They say hello to me in this vid. Meeting Geddy & Alex was amazing. I spoke to Alex afterwards about his guitars, Natural Science. It was a dream!!
RUSH rules!....thE best from the get go....caress of steel....is as pure as art can be ! & the definition of alternative..spine curling.....& hemispheres ....niggas paleez.....untouchable.....theres more talent in geddys pinky than most rock bands combined!
One of the most underrated bands in the world, but we RUSH fans know better; been listening to RUSH since Farewell to KIngs; I'm in my late 40"s, and it's fantastic to see this band still produce thought provoking material, as well as great music. You'll not see a more genuine group of musician's in the business.
Rush is the most creative, innovative and technically astonishing band in all of Rock & Roll. I grew up as a kid with Rush being my #1 favorite band. I used to listen to Rush in my basement in Scarborough with all my buddies, cranking it on the stereo for hours. I'm now in my mid 40's and Rush is still my #1 favorite band of all time. I consider them to be geniuses and an archetype for all of progressive rock. I'm so excited about this movie!!!!
I am really excited about this film, the new album and the tour. These guys have been MY band since '75. So much great stuff. Call me weird, but Caress Of Steel is my favorite. PLAY THE NECROMANCER guys!!!!
@rushnut1958 If you're crazy, I am as well. Caress of Steel is amazing! I mean c'mon, Bastille Day? Are you kidding me? One of THE greatest songs in the history of progressive rock! You are so lucky to have been born to your generation..I'm a 90's baby, so I hadn't really gained much interest in Rush till post-2000. Nevertheless, I absolutely love Rush. Will be purchasing their new album when it comes out, going to watch the documentary, and most definitely not gonna miss the tour this summer.
Check it out! This Documentary won the Tribeca Film Fest Audience award! Scott & Sam, the directors, won the Heineken $25,000 Award! Thanks to Rush Fan's, and their positivity and energy! Rush Fans Rule.Read about it at ap-red ( d o t ) com on the film page!
@ApREDentertainment i love how the Heineken bottle caps are holding the red star high in hand, if you raise your hands to heaven, you will live a hundred years.
@david640 Iv been thinking the same thing for a while. I dont know them from way back im only in my twentys but their the first rock band that caught my eye. When they are a band their fans worship and are third all time on a list that includes the beatles and rollingstones for consecutive Gold or platinum records that alone should be enough to put them in the hall of fame.
@david640 Because the RRHOF foundation decides who gets in. The foundation is full of industry insiders who couldn't care less what me or you think of when it comes to music. Besides, should it really bother you that a group of ignorant shitheads refuse to "honor" Rush by not equating them with B-league crap like blondie and elvis costello? Personally, Rush sould be proud that they are not in. I know i am.
@david640 Rush isn't interested in being in the R & R H O F. Just because of the manner of how bands are picked. I think the R & R H O F should have multiple categories of rock, personally. But if you ask me, I think they are already in all of Our music room halls of fame. It has kept them going for nearly 40 years now.
That long-haired stoner looking kid was totally on an episode of That Metal Show. He asked a question a question during Stump the Trunk about Steve Vai's (the guest) first band.
Thanks for the heads Up...We have added an annotation reflecting RushCon (dot) Org on the actual video! Enjoy and thanks for all the great Comments so far! Rush Fans Rule!
I was at this premiere! I never heard anyone clap more loudly for a movie. Donna Halper , Ray Danniels their manager were in the audience. I actually got to shake Alex's hand. I said, "I love you. You are a great player!" He smiled at me from the stage. I was in the second row. It was a great time. I am still in awe I shook Alex's hand. My first concert was 4/1/1983 in Hartford on the Signals tour.
@tekkentool I saved for a whole year to go to London and see the Snake and Arrows show at Wembly Arena. It was fantastic!!! There are a few poorly shot vids of the show i took on my page, the laser show during Dreamline was awesome!!
Greatest band of all time!!!! They prove that you dont have to sell out or dance around on a stage like an idiot. Basically, they show that you can truly be talented and have a great musical career. Best band ever! Rock on guys!!!
