  • nice

  • awesome!

  • A polar bear fell on me

  • Jesus, So being Canadian is worse than being blind.

  • @RickThreeBears LOL well spotted who says that punctuation is not important?

  • I remember seeing JH one time at Hammersmith.

Quite well beered up, I was quite focal in my appreciation of the gig. Wanting him to do All Along the Watchtower, I'm screaming for "HENDRIX!"

After about four goes, Jeff leans into the mic saying, "Well, we're doing the best that we can!"

I didn't mind being put down by such an amazing fiddler!!

    Bless him.

    TD

  • Killer version..... Hendrix would be freakin' proud!!!!!

  • Jeff Healey ! I miss him very much

  • If listening to Jeff play or sing doesn't stir your soul then you have none. Very few musicians can express the emotion that Jeff could. The other day I heard my high school age son listening to "Like a Hurricane" and it sounded like Healey. After asking and confirming, my son said "this guy is awesome" and I walked away and smiled. Thanks Jeff!

  • Damn. I stayed to watch the whole thing and now I'm late for work. End result is that I've been playing for 40 years and now I find out I haven't a freakin clue how to play guitar. Damn.

  • Jeff Healy, too good to have been taken from us so young. Live on in SPIRIT Jeff.

  • Jeff's the only one on stage with a valid excuse for his haircut.

  • DAMN BRO

  • OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Forget the fact that Jeff Healey was blind.

Forget the fact he plays the guitar in a strange way.

Forget the fact that he is Canadian.

When you strip away all those distracting descriptors, you can see, and hear, that Jeff Healey is as original, talented, and sh!t hot as ANY of the famous gunslingers.

He may not have been as famous, but he can hold his own with the best. It is because of his pure love for music, which is impossible to hide. Man can he play!! Love you Jeff You are a blessing!

  • Amazing person.

  • I don't normaly say this but I think he just rolled jimmy up in some serious pages of the bible and made a huge doobie then smoked it.

I could have sworn there were moments of alan parsons project.

  • Comment removed

  • only the good die young, live on with the greatest of the blues, rip

  • One day my Friend Andre ask me .. Chris do You know who was playing last weekend in Bergen ? i say no ... who ? Jeff Healley !!! Me and Andre talk about music everyday at work He is The bigest Neil Young fan that i know... Because in that times i was working 16 hour's per day and miss every news about concert. What can i say ? when he died i was disappointed and fucking sad :-(

  • no dislikes, good going people

  • live for ever in my heart, jeff , what a felling boy see you in some place

  • The music was his optic nerve - he needed a guitar like a fish needs water.

  • This is AMAZING!

  • It's upsetting that you can't just come on YouTube to enjoy great music and artists that are unfortunately no longer with us without having to see so many idiots trying to prove how hard they are online. Shut up and let the music cleanse the soul the way it's supposed to, damn.

  • One of the absolute best that ever lived. RIP Jeff, you played with more heart and soul than most.

  • Pure. Love Jeff . Sad he died. Has so much to offer, and he's missing a lot of new great stuff

  • THIS MAN WAS AND STILL REMAINS A LEDGE,,PHENOMENAL GUITARIST IM IMPROVISED ON HIM AS REGARDS MY GUITAR PLAYING

  • 0 dislikes...now that's what I like to see...

  • The man was unbelievable!

  • omg... I have just learn about Jeff Healey recently & I am blown away by this... Jimi Hendrix was an awesome shredder, but what Jeff did was over everybody's head. You couldn't do that song any better. Giving the performance a thumbs up (even though I did) doesn't deserve justice, but all I can do is write about it... Peace -

  • when I see this incredible player it seems like he turns the guitar into a keybord, kind of.

  • 8===> ~~ ~

  • Jimi who?

  • Truly an incredible guitarist, fantastic cover. Really inspiring performance, this guy was the master of his instrument.

  • This guy is a damn beast! Why am I just listening to him for the first time? He should be more popular!

  • @NeverBeBored08 I know, right =)

  • That was one of the most electrifying performances I've ever seen.

I saw Jeff perform in Toronto a few times in the late 80's and he was incredible.

But there was something special going on the night this performance was recorded.

I wish I'd been there to witness it.

  • Although I never even occupied the same city at the same time as Jeff (in other words I'm a nobody) and would only know him the way most of us would know him by what we've seen\heard of and from him on media. It almost is like Healey so easily came across as much more than a talented musician he came across as a beautiful human being. To me I didn't have to know him to know that he was.

  • RIP Jeff....there won't be another like you.....your style was yours and yours alone...get renditions of songs that moved you....a southern flare with respect.....it's the best kinda music - "the kind" (aka-the finest kind!)

  • AWESOME!!! :D

  • Bob dylan was a genious, noone plays like jimi or stevie ray vaughan but noone play like healey, wish he would have tried his hand at jimis little wing like stevie did

  • Again....I'm a humongus Jimi Hendrix fan....but, as far as this song goes...JIMI WHO??

  • blind men can TOO !!

  • Legend!

  • jeff was cool with anything he played

  • pray his soul may rest in peace

  • the man is a legend wot more can i say!!!!!" R.I.P jeff healey!!!!!

  • NOBODY should play this but HENDRIX!!! BUT! This man is a genius and his version is truly insperational..

    RIP Jeff..

  • @saggybitch You are a moron for thinking that. He didn't even write it.

  • @tudortoomey ..Read what i wrote you cock!!

You are the moron for making futile comments...

I like both Healey and Hendrix but also Like and have seen Dylan Live!!

    So go suck!!

  • @saggybitch wow you really are a dumbass, do you mind if Dylan plays it?

  • @billwitt2010 DIMWITT WOULD BE A MORE APPROPRIATE NAME..LEARN TO READ MORON..

  • @saggybitch wow u r clever you saggybitch guess Neil should quit too huh by the way, BLOW ME!

  • @billwitt2010 I will reply just simply to amuse myself.. This however will almost certainly go over your head as an illiterate..

Read what i wrote little man..

Ps You may well be into giving other men a blow but me, nah ill pass thanks.. I'll leave that up to the small minded idle people with nothing better to do in their sad little worlds but sit and bitch on you tube..Obviously when they are not too busy wanking over photos of their male idols..

  • @saggybitch you really do mention head alot, you are a little fag bitch aren't you?

  • Jeff Healey = Guitar God

  • Why cant' a Canadian rise to the top anyway? It sounds like this is exceptional. Are we not all human? Unless you like to fart on Liberals.

  • Jeff Healy...Here's a true human story of triumph - a man with a crushing disability - being a Canadian, and yet rising to the top anyway. And also he was blind.

  • @FartOnLiberals lol hilarious....Rip Jeff Healey

  • @FartOnLiberals hahahah you fuckin asshole

  • @geetarist666 Have you considered therapy for your scatological fixation? LOL

  • @FartOnLiberals Here is a famous and true example of the difference that punctuation can make. In the 1800's a message was dispatched concerning whether to hang an prisoner which read:" Spare not hang!" The government could not decifer the meaning because the person had forgotten to place a comma..if he had the meaning would have been clear i.e. "Spare not, hang!" or "Spare, not hang!" I agree with your thoughts on Jeff Healy what a wonderful person he was!

  • @FartOnLiberals

What's being Canadian have to do with anything? lol

  • @ssgtgibby It's a handicap, eh?

  • (piratebay) /torrent/3728248/Jeff_Healey_Band_Live_at_Montreux_1999___4_song_bonus_from_1997_ cmon ppl seed that! haha

  • his performances bring tears to my eyes, I feel that all my troubles pale in comparison to being blind, but he overcame and excelled an to see him play and feel his joy, I feel that I am blessed and it gives me strength and inspiration!!!!!!!

  • Such an unknown genius....

  • such an amazing soulful guitarist that can play with his teeth and upside down ....... WAIT WHAT THE FUCK HES BLIND!!!!! JEFF U R A TRUE GOD RIP MY FRIEND

  • Jimi Hendrix did the best cover you can do with this beatiful song from Bob Dylan. But although nothing can beat Hendrix' Version, Jeff Healey did the same thing with this song. It's the best intepretaion i've ever heard.^^

  • best performace,it was one of the biggest musicians,I miss him! R.I.P.

  • what the fu........ my (jaw has dropped ) what a bloke

  • Can you only Dream about Rock and Roll Heaven!!!

  • music lost big piece with him gone away :/

  • The music basically used this guy as a conduit through which to flow. Jeff was as much a vessel as the guitar he played. Divinely inspired? Who knows? Surely sounded that way, though.

  • Jimi Hendrix does an cover on Bob Dylan,

Jeff Healey does an cover on Jimi Hendrix.

    Well, here is the results...

  • wow, that's an amazing cover. So much emotion mixed with the fact that he is gone, which makes the eyes wetter.

  • increible, fantastico fabuloso

  • A phenomenal man. RIP Jeff.

  • got a few of his cd's insane cannot find this on any of his album's love this video

  • @rockininsaneo162002

There's a blistering 5:43 live version of this recorded live at Massey Hall in Toronto on "The Jeff Healey Band: Legacy (2009)" CD/DVD. I was just listening to it. It completely blew me away.

In fact, the entire Disk 2 CD is a jaw dropper. It's all live stuff.. much of it previously unreleased. Amazing stuff.

  • He must be at the Hall Of Fame, but Heaven is much better than everything! RIP Jeff.

  • tonnes of Soul in his playing & a hell of a lot of heart in his voice

  • Phenomenal version of this song! Really love seeing how into it Jeff got when he was just jammin

  • What an amazing talent, sorely missed RIP Jeff Healey, hopefully him and Jimi are jammin at the ultimate guitar fest in the sky!!

  • .beyond belief !!!

  • beyond belief

  • sensational,

  • FUCK!!!!

  • dam he's a bad motha on that guitar

  • holy shit. unreal!

  • R.I.P Genious

    Emocionante isso..

  • Thanks Lori, I love this video. Miss his music.

  • Jeff Healey to my mind is a genius! and a sorely missed one at that. It's a joy to see all these clips of him on youtube, he didn't just create wonderful jaw dropping music....he felt the music...it ran right through his soul and that comes through everytime!

  • @kqbumpkin i agree 110% and i believe that when he lost his sight to cancer as a kid that it was actually a gift hidden in a curse because his ear was absolutely wonderful he knew every note.

  • An unforgettable musician.

Tons and tons of feeling and soul.

  • When he was eight months old, Healey lost his sight to retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the eyes.

The eyes had to be surgically removed, and he was given artificial replacements.

Healey began playing guitar when he was three, developing his unique style of playing the instrument flat on his lap.

On March 2, 2008, Healey died of cancer at St. Joseph's Health Centre in his home town of Toronto

  • sad to say I only discovered this guy a little while ago, but he truly is one of the greats. I don't even know his background at all or anything, just telling from this he's fucking amazing

  • hes blind and left handed on top of everything

    jeez...amazing

  • really? cuz he's playing righty huh well he was one talented guy but I never knew that

  • miss you, you truly were one of a kind!

  • This is from the soundtrack of the movie Roadhouse, if you want to look for it that's where to find it.

RIP Jeff. Best musician I ever saw play.

  • Only he could pull it off with so much soul, so much savvy, so much energy and so much of all that he was. R.I.P. Jeff, you singin' playin' wild man.

  • Jimi who?????

  • fuck me. 10/10 you just don't hear good shit like this anymore

  • jeez.

  • ironic...

there must be some kinda way outta here...

    miss you bro...

    be well, happy, and peaceful

    bela ray

  • Such a talent he is! One of my favorite guitar players. He is so so damn good and talented! He is a heroe to many people. He is genius

  • Does anyone have an MP3 of this? I'd gladly buy it!

  • ...my God I just showed this to my brother and we are completely speechless...I had to watch it again...like my brother put it there is no other way to describe it..its just BAD ASS WICKED.

  • Actually I have never heard anyone cover this song this amazing...truly mind blowing...I am just going to say it. Its just as good, if not better, than the original. Like or leave it. Its an amazing performance. There is no arguing that period. Jeff was one of the few GREATS.

  • This is beyond good... his licks are so detailed and tight. What great tone - excellent slides and chords. Just one of the most talented guitarists I've ever seen, and I've seen them all. Great voice too.

  • 5:41 the bass players trousers...

    remind anyone of simon cowell?

    Great show!

  • god bless you! one of the best canadian guitarist ever. hope you still rockin in paradise Jeff!

  • MAn jimi , healey RESPECT you made a dylan musica a masterpiece , because lets face it .... dylan SUCKS ahahhahaha

  • How dare you ... they don't think he does - neither should you

and even if jeff or jimi never made it big they would be on this message board yelling at you and telling you how great and inspirational bobs version of this song was

they'd also tell you that bob is an imense talent

  • The best cover I ever heard....If you close your eye even the voice is similar to jimi voice...

    Incredible...

  • amazing! wow. respect man

  • Well what can I say? That was just awesome.

  • happy bday, r.i.p.!

  • Wonder if Bob Dylan ever thought this was going to become a rock masterpiece

  • god that would be insane playing even if he wasn't blind,RIP Jeff Healey

  • Maybe his blindness is (or was... ) the reason for his extreme musical talent... ;)

Because his eyesight is gone his ears are much better developt and it's one of the few ways of entertainment ;)

Imagine yourself while being blind... I would play my guitar and listen to music for the entire day cause I have nothing else to satisfy me with ;)

  • flyingplayer,you have truth.Jeff,say hi to Jimmi.

  • that comment just gave me goosebumps.

  • heavens house band is a bit bigger and better now
